Vanessa noticed the twelve beautiful won standing beside Yuan, their pleasant smiles adding to their ethereal charm. She was taken aback by their beauty; to her, they resembled goddesses who belonged in heaven.
'So many beautiful won standing beside him... What kind of relationship does Yuan have with all of them? Could he possibly have physical relationships with these won as well?' Vanessa wondered, stunned by the elegance of Yuan's wives.
She found it almost impossible to take her eyes off the won. Not only were they breathtakingly beautiful, but they also radiated a profound aura similar to the one she sensed from Yuan—and even from her own daughter.
'what is this strange feeling? It's like I'm standing before beings beyond human comprehension... like I'm in the presence of deities.' Vanessa's thoughts swirled with confusion, but she eventually brushed them aside.
Turning her gaze back to Yuan with a questioning look, she asked, "By the way, Yuan, why don't you introduce the beautiful ladies by your side? They're stunning."
Yuan smiled warmly and began, "Let introduce my two mothers first. This is Anna and Grace—both my biological mothers." He gestured to the two won as they nodded with gentle smiles.
Vanessa's jaw dropped. "Two biological mothers?" she muttered under her breath, utterly confused. She couldn't fathom how such a thing was possible. But what left her even more speechless was discovering that the rest of the won were Yuan's wives.
She stole another glance at Anna and Grace, marveling at their youthful appearances. They looked no older than won in their mid-twenties—a stark contrast to the fact that they had given birth to two children.
'How do they look so young even after childbirth?Part of want to ask them about their secret, but...would that seem too greedy?' Vanessa thought, torn between curiosity and decorum.
Her gaze then shifted to two particularly striking won—Xi ili and Fang Xiaoyan. Their unique features, elegant attire, and intense auras set them apart. Vanessa couldn't help but notice that Xi ili's appearance suggested she wasn't entirely human, though she couldn't pinpoint what kind of beast-man she might be. As for Fang Xiaoyan, Vanessa was utterly clueless.

As her eyes wandered across the room, Vanessa suddenly noticed Miss Zara and Little Zoe standing behind Yuan. Her attention was imdiately drawn to the little girl, who looked adorable and full of life.
Following Vanessa's gaze, Yuan smiled and said, "Allow to introduce Miss Zara and Little Zoe." Miss Zara bowed slightly in respect, and Little Zoe mirrored the gesture with a radiant smile.
"There's no need to be so formal with ," Vanessa said kindly, smiling at the pair. "I'm just an old woman nearing the end of her days."
Her attention then shifted to Valeria, who stood nearby, smiling warmly at her.
"I feel like this is the best mont of my life. After all, I finally got to et my one and only son-in-law. Until now, I had abandoned the thought of ever seeing my son-in-law since you always refused to marry," Vanessa said with a warm smile, as though she might jump up from the bed to give Valeria a tight embrace.
"You took your ti. However... at least I got to see my son-in-law before leaving this world," Vanessa muttered in a low voice, her eyes teary as a wave of emotion overca her.
"Mom! How many tis have I told you not to talk about your death? I won't let you die! I'll make sure you recover from your illness, leave this bed, and give us your blessing," Valeria said with a serious tone, almost angry at her mother for speaking about such things.
"By now, you should understand that my recovery is almost impossible, my child. Many famous Healers have tried to treat my illness using various thods, but all were unsuccessful," Vanessa sighed. "None of them have found a cure for my strange illness. I have no hope of recovering."
"Mom, you're wrong! Those Healers are useless—they don't know much about illnesses, especially sothing they've never encountered before."
Valeria turned to Yuan with a smile and continued, "Let my husband examine you. He might have a way to cure you. After all, he's perford miracles before and always has so unusual tricks up his sleeve."
"Is that so? I never thought my son-in-law would be so capable. Well, to make you feel better, I'll let him take a look at ," Vanessa said with a soft smile, genuinely curious about Yuan's abilities.
"Well, if I can understand your illness, I might co up with a solution," Yuan said to Vanessa before turning to Valeria. "Valeria, please don't expect too much from , okay?"
"I—I understand…" Valeria reluctantly nodded, though she looked a little disappointed.
Yuan then used his Divine Sense to examine Vanessa's body. Unfortunately, he didn't find anything strange at first. He initially suspected she might have been poisoned, but there was no sign of any toxins.
However, sothing unexpected caught his attention. Surprised, Yuan focused his Divine Sense more intently on her lower back, near her waist. He observed a dense concentration of cold energy near her womb, which was spreading through her spine and rendering her immobile. The cold energy was blocking her blood vessels and freezing her blood, causing her pain.
The situation worsened at night, as the moonlight seed to amplify the effects of the cold energy. Yuan also noticed that several blood vessels near her spine were damaged, creating a blackened appearance on her back due to clotted, dead blood cells.
'Her condition is very confusing… Where did this cold energy co from? It doesn't resemble poison at all,' Yuan thought to himself, puzzled but determined to uncover the source of her affliction.
'If only Nora were here with , she could have told everything about this cold energy in my mother-in-law's body… I miss her voice terribly,' Yuan sighed inwardly.
After examining her with his Divine Sense, he moved closer to Vanessa and sat at the side of the bed. He gently took her hand to check her body temperature and pulse.
Throughout this, Vanessa remained quiet, allowing Yuan to perform his examination. She didn't mind exposing her body to him in the hope that he would better understand her illness and find a solution.
Once the examination was complete, Yuan turned to Valeria and said, "Your mother has several damaged blood vessels in her back. But that's not all. I found sothing unusual inside her body. I'm not sure how it got there…"
Valeria imdiately grew anxious upon hearing this. Her heart began to race as she looked at Yuan with a pleading expression, which made him feel an emotional surge.
"I-Is it poison?" Valeria asked, her voice trembling, her body shaking with a mix of fear and anger.
Yuan smiled softly and stood up from the bed, pulling her into his embrace to calm her. To his surprise, Valeria relaxed imdiately in his arms.
Once she cald down, Yuan smiled at her and said, "What I found in her body isn't poison, so there's no need to be furious. No one poisoned your mother."
"I see… I'm relieved to hear that," Valeria sighed with relief, then asked with a voice full of concern, "But what did you find in her body? Is it dangerous?"
"I found sothing unusual around her womb, on the back side at the center of her waist. It's the first ti I've encountered sothing like this: a large amount of cold energy. I don't know where this energy ca from, but it's slowly destroying her body," Yuan explained.
He continued, "This is unlike anything I've seen before. I'm not sure how to get rid of it. The pills I have with won't work on her."
"Can't we do anything to get rid of this cold energy that's harming her?" Valeria asked, her voice filled with sadness as she realized her mother's condition was deteriorating day by day.
"I… I don't—" Yuan began, but before he could finish, Fang Xiaoyan stepped closer to the bed.
"Let take a look at her," Fang Xiaoyan said, quickly activating her Divine Sense to examine Vanessa's body.
A few seconds later, Fang Xiaoyan's eyes briefly glowed golden before she turned to Yuan.
"Do you know what this cold energy is?" Yuan asked her, his expression curious.
"I'm not sure what it is, but I have a few ideas about how it entered her body," Fang Xiaoyan said calmly. "She might have a powerful Yin-type physique, or perhaps soone cursed her. Most curses carry negative energy."
"Curses, huh?" Yuan thought for a mont but then dismissed the idea. He didn't sense anything unusual about the energy.
'Could it be that Vanessa has a special Yin-type physique?' Yuan pondered the possibility.
"Well, how about I let her drink a drop of my blood?" Fang Xiaoyan suggested. "My blood can even bring a half-dead person back to life. It can heal most injuries, regenerate a missing heart, and even nullify curses to a certain extent."
Yuan was intrigued by Fang Xiaoyan's idea to feed a drop of her blood to Valeria's mother, Vanessa. Perhaps her blood could indeed heal her body. However, he was concerned about the large amount of spiritual energy contained in Fang Xiaoyan's blood, which could be overwhelming for Vanessa's body to handle.
"Don't worry," Fang Xiaoyan reassured him, noticing the worried look on Yuan's face. "Since her body has already withstood the Cold Energy for so long, it should be able to handle the strain of my blood."
"I see... I'm relieved to know that," Yuan nodded with a smile, then turned to Valeria and asked, "Are you okay with this, Valeria?"
"Let's try it. I believe in all of you," Valeria said, agreeing to try this thod on her mother. This was her only chance to save her, and she didn't want to lose it.
