Yuan and the others looked at the Demon Emperor and the four Dukes in silence. They never imagined that such a tragic truth lay behind the Holy War and the death of the First Demon Emperor.
’It seems that coming here was indeed the right choice... otherwise, we would never have learned the truth and witnessed the hypocrisy of the Gods,’ Yuan thought with a soft sigh.
"I never imagined that those gods from the High Heaven would be such hypocrites... starting a war against an entire race purely out of their thirst for power. This is simply unbelievable," Anna Grace muttered, her voice filled with contempt and anger toward the Gods.
"All of them are hypocrites... because of their greed, we suffered greatly. Our entire continent has suffered beyond asure," Emperor Rhex sighed deeply, painful mories resurfacing and tightening his chest once more.
"Have you ever considered taking revenge? After all, those so-called Gods made you suffer so much. It would only be right for them to suffer as well," Mireya spoke, her sharp gaze fixed on the Emperor and the four Dukes.
"We have thought about revenge ever since we lost our First Demon Emperor. The Gods must pay for every sin they have committed," Duke Hexryn said coldly, her eyes filled with murderous intent.
"Unfortunately, our current situation does not allow it. We have no way of crossing the mysterious storm barrier to reach the other continents," Rhex replied with a weary sigh.
He continued, "Moreover, we have recently discovered that the Undead Race has been making strange movents near our borders. Their motives remain unknown for now."
"Those bony monsters have grown far too arrogant lately... they even dared to leave the desert and co all the way here," Duke Alric muttered, his anger clearly visible.
"The Undead Race, huh? We did notice strange movents while traveling here... I wonder how they even ca into existence. After all, they have no functioning organs," Yuan said, genuine curiosity evident in his voice.
"They are the result of experints conducted by the Gods—the result of their failures, to be precise," Rhex answered, his voice dripping with disdain toward the Undead Race.
Seeing the confusion on Yuan’s and the others’ faces, Rhex sighed and explained, "They dumped the bodies of their failed experintal subjects here to fra us before the rest of the world, convincing everyone that we were the ones conducting those experints."
"Over ti, the decaying corpses absorbed Qi and returned to life... in a twisted form. As you can see, they possess no organs at all—only bones."
"Normally, they would never leave the desert. But now, we’ve spotted nurous Undead patrolling near our borders, and we have no idea what they’re planning," Emperor Rhex said gravely, his concern unmistakable. This was no minor issue—sothing major was clearly about to unfold.
Yuan and the others were deeply shaken upon learning how the Undead Race ca into existence. The Gods had truly committed countless atrocities, even turning humans into grotesque undead monsters.
The undead possess a strange ability as well. They can turn any dead body into an undead monster, rapidly increasing their numbers.
It made sense, since they have no organs in their bodies, and they clearly cannot reproduce like other races living in this world.
"I didn’t expect the Undead Race to be created by the Gods... creating sothing like this is pure blasphemy. They have shattered every moral boundary people should have. Truly evil," Angela spoke in shock, covering her mouth with disbelief.
"They are no longer human... no human would ever stoop so low. They are blinded by power," Vanessa said, her voice calm but filled with disdain.
"Indeed. No human would stoop so low... they’ve turned into monsters—ruthless and consud by greed," Yuan muttered, his voice low and carrying clear contempt.
A few monts later, the conversation ca to an end. Emperor Rhex made arrangents for all four Dukes, Yuan, and the others to stay within the palace.
Yuan initially refused the offer, but the Demon Emperor insisted that they stay for the night, leaving Yuan with no choice but to accept.
"We’ve learned too many shocking truths today... I still can’t believe the Gods have manipulated the entire world just for power," Valeria muttered as soon as she entered the room Emperor Rhex had prepared for them.
"Not gods... just humans who proclaid themselves as gods. They are no different from anyone else," Rose added with a soft sigh.
"It won’t be long before they fall from the sky. Since they dared to co after us, I’ll make them beg for forgiveness," Yuan said firmly as he sat down on the bed.
A wide grin spread across his face as he continued, "It will be quite the sight when they kneel before us, begging to be spared. Only then will they realize the price of their greed and the mistake of coming after us."
"The High Heaven... that’s where the teleportation device is located. It seems their destruction was destined by our hands," Valeria chuckled softly as she wrapped her arms around him, pressing her chest against his back.
"Indeed. It does seem that way," Yuan replied with a smile, nodding slightly.
"So where are we heading next?" Julie asked, sitting beside him with a curious expression.
"The territory of the Vampires. I’ve always been interested in them—I’ve read many stories about them in the past," Yuan replied with a faint smile.
"The Vampires... I don’t think that’s a good idea, Yuan," Kitsura said, worry clear on her face.
"Why? We can fight anyone. What could they possibly do to us? Rember—we have the strength to face anyone in this world," Yuan replied confidently.
"If you put it that way, then I suppose we have no reason not to go..." she sighed, shaking her head as she realized it was impossible to stop him.
Yuan then turned toward his mother and asked, "What do you think about Rhex, Mom? Do you think he has any ulterior motives regarding us?"
"I don’t think he’s a bad person, darling. He seed genuine, and he truly cares about his people. That’s the mark of a good Emperor. I don’t believe he has any hidden intentions toward us," Anna Grace replied imdiately.
"I see... so he’s soone we can trust," Yuan nodded thoughtfully.
"Definitely," Anna Grace nodded back with a warm smile.
"What do you think about forming an alliance with him to bring down the Gods? After all, dealing with all the Divine Knights of the High Heaven would be a real headache," Yuan asked calmly.
