This was one of Astia’s divine ability, to make her presence null before the awareness of others.
Aiden’s expression shifted, but then the smile returned almost imdiately. This would have been a problem if he wasn’t the Lord Of The Mind Sea.
The fallen angel may have erased his presence but his raging mind still acted a beacon to him.
From behind, samael erged with his fist covered in yellow lightning already driving forward toward Aiden’s spine.
Because Aiden had seen this coming as well, he moved his body to the side, letting Samael’s fist pass harmlessly by his ribs.
In that sa motion, Aiden’s hand shot out and grabbed Samael’s wrist. The mont contact was made, Aiden channeled his authority over destruction directly into the fallen angel’s arm.
White energy surged through his body, disintegrating everything it touched from the inside out.
Samael’s forearm dissolved into dust before he could pull away.
But he didn’t scream or falter. Instead, he used his free hand to grab Aiden’s shoulder, and in that instant, he activated Rebellion.
Aiden felt it imdiately.
Naturally, Asahel’s level Rebellion wouldn’t work on Aiden but this evolved form was potent enough to grant consciousness to the authorities within the dragon god.
This made his authorities turn against him, with each one trying to consu his own body.
In a burst of speed, Aiden created a distance between him and fallen angel, spreading them apart by several thousand kiloters away in an instant.
"Don’t tell you’re running away from ..." Samael said in a teasing mocking tone and a laughter following afterwards.
But Aiden gave no reply. His body naturally began adjusting to the effects of rebellion, but this was because even right now Aiden could use Samael’s grace of Adapt and Evolve.
Absorbing the transcendence fragnts of the Samael from the second tiline had granted him this perk.
The smile returned to Aiden’s face as he said, "this power of yours doesn’t feel now i’m in possession of it too"
Samael’s confident face contorted into a frown, with his missing arm was already regenerating back into place.
Aiden may have been sounding confident but deep down he knew that regeneration wasn’t normal adaptation.
There was no way Samael’s grace should have been able to adapt and evolve through destruction of his level, that quickly.
There was sothing more at play here.
The Lord of the Mind Sea forced his control into the Fallen Angel’s consciousness, attempting to discover the source of Samael’s regeneration.
But the mont he entered, Aiden realized this mind was already shattered into countless fragnts, like pieces of broken glass scattered across a vast expanse.
This was Myria’s power over Mirrors, evolved far beyond its original form. The Archon goddess’s mind had always existed in a constant state of fragntation, with each thought separated into conceptual glass shards.
While she still had a good control of it and could think clearly.
Now, under Samael’s control, that ability had grown even more complex. Aiden would have to sort through an endless maze of fragnted consciousnesses to find what he was looking for.
And Samael wasn’t going to simply wait while that happened.
He grinned, realizing that Aiden had just attempted to peer through his mory before choosing to stop.
"I’m glad you realize how much of a waste of ti going through my mind is" Samael said, watching Aiden with a mocking deanor.
Aiden stared without an expression on his face as Samael continued.
"I knew you’ve co to the realization we are equally matched. You may possess all of Father’s authorities but i have evolved the power of gods and humans alike to a level where they ca compete."
Aiden kept staring still without a word. In a way, he had realized this as well, which is why he was taking his ti and looking for the most efficient way to deal with this angel once and for all.
"Did you know that amongst the humans, one of them possess really potent magic?" Samael continued his ramblings. "The mont I acquired that, I thought to myself just how much a magic like that raised to my status, could do"
Right then Samael lifted his hand towards Aiden and whispered, "theft"
This was the magic belonging to Ambrose, theft magic.
However, Aiden’s foresight ca in clutch this ti too, and in anticipation of the theft magic attack, he had set a ti reversal skill in place.
Samael knew he would not be able to accommodate the essence of dragons within him but he sure as hell could for transcendence. With that, he aid to steal so portion of transcendence fragnts to reduce Aiden’s level.
But right as the white blob of energy left the dragon god’s body, ti flowed backwards to the point before the theft magic was casted.
It looked like reality moved backwards, and the blob returned back into Aiden, and right at that point, Aiden whispered, "Purge"
The countless glass shards containing Samael’s thoughts quickly faded away, as though the had broken away into fine dust.
This was Aiden’s neuro-purge destruction skill used at the most potent level.
This made Samael stare blankly into the void of space for a mont. The fallen angel had adapted to this before but not at this level.
In the brief window where no one could interrupt him, Aiden whispered, "I wish to know the source of Samael’s indestructibility."
By absorbing the Holy Grail’s transcendence fragnts, Aiden had gained the power of wishes.
But he also inherited its limitations. He could only make three wishes at a ti, and he had to be careful not to make absurd requests. Wishes the Grail deed absurd would cause untold catastrophic effects, sothing Aiden couldn’t risk dealing with while fighting Samael.
This was why he didn’t simply wish for the fallen angel to be destroyed. He was unsure if the Grail could even muster enough power to erase a being on par with his own level, such a wish might qualify as absurd.
Moreover, if his authority over destruction couldn’t achieve that right now, there was no guarantee the Grail would succeed either.
So he made a subtler wish instead; to be granted knowledge.
And that wish, was fulfilled.
