It was precisely because of this self-confidence that Yan Wei had been so full of arrogance, looking down on everyone.
“Second Prince?”
A low chuckle ca from ahead, “Who is this Second Prince anyway, that even his dogs are so insolent?”
Yan Wei’s face changed, he looked at the elder who was leisurely sipping tea with an ashen expression: “You dare call a dog? I am one of the Second Prince’s n!”
“So what if I call you a dog? Even if I were to call that rascal of a Second Prince a dog, who could do anything to ?” The elder said lightly, putting down his teacup with a smile.
Yan Wei’s face contorted completely.
This old fool was truly courting death, daring to insult the Second Prince like that – as if a few heads of his would be enough to chop off.
“Old man, you’ve got so nerve. The Second Prince is so noble, is he soone you, an old dog, can insult? The Second Prince is the future Emperor, insult him and I will wipe out your entire clan!”
Yan Wei was overco with rage, words spilling out without passing through his brain, and by the ti they were out, it was too late. He could only glare furiously at Zhang Lin.

Yan Wei was also speaking out of sheer frustration, but when the elder refused to back down, he was so angry he felt on fire, yelling loudly: “Old bastard, just you wait, I will make you regret this!”
Zhang Lin’s expression gradually grew somber.
He made no movents, just sat there quietly, emanating a powerful presence. Under its weight, Yan Wei’s breathing tightened, his eyes showing terror.

A strong surge of energy blasted Yan Wei’s body, hurling him out and making him tumble clumsily down the stairs.
The people dining in the hall didn’t know what had happened, and they looked bewildered at the aristocratic young man rolling down…
“Isn’t that Yan Wei, from the Second Prince’s side?”
“How did he roll down the stairs?”
“I’m not sure, maybe he didn’t stand steady…”
Yan Wei got up from the ground, opened his mouth to shout angrily, but what ca out was a series of dog barks instead.
Suddenly, the hall went quiet, and after a long while, it erupted in laughter.
“Haha, Yan of the Yan Family has actually turned into a dog.”
“Indeed, he’s always following the Second Prince around, fawning and grovelling – if not a dog, what is he?”
“Tsk tsk, by saying that, you truly insult dogs. Dogs are known for their loyalty and kindness, while Yan Wei only fawns over the Second Prince for his own benefits. How could he be worthy of being called a dog?”
Hearing these mocking voices, Yan Wei glared furiously at them and ran out as if his life depended on it, while louder laughter followed behind him…
“Pfft.”
Inside the private room, Yao Yunqing couldn’t help but laugh out, “Uncle Zhang, that was brilliant! He’ll be humiliated right down to his roots, haha.”
Miss, you flatter ,” Zhang Lin said with a light laugh, “There’s no need to be polite with such rogues. The more you indulge them, the more insolent they beco. Only a harsh lesson will shut them up.”
At first, Zhang Lin didn’t want to bully a younger man by abusing his seniority, but since the young man went too far, he simply had him shut his mouth.
