Very quickly, the three of them approached the manor from before, where there was chaos due to the representative's assassination attempt.

Seeing that ra and Kain were unhard, the worry in Jamie's heart finally subsided. She carefully bowed and thanked the high-class Magus in her family who had intervened, then turned to Kain.

"I am truly sorry, Kain. This ti was an oversight from within the family. It put you and ra in danger."

Hearing Jamie's solemn apology, ra couldn't help but nudge him with her elbow. Because clearly, Kain knew he would be assassinated yet still dragged her along for "live combat" with the assassins.

This, at the very least, deserved an explanation for Jamie.

Kain knew that too, so as soon as Jamie finished speaking, he cleared his throat.

"Alright, I have a few things I want to say... but this place isn't very convenient."

Saying that, he glanced around. Jamie reacted imdiately upon seeing this.

"Is that so? Then let's go to the contract discussion room from before."

With that, Jamie led the two of them away. The high-class Magus followed at the very end. Kain didn't question this, as it was a sign that his right to protection by the Egretta Family was no longer sothing to be taken lightly.

Following that, Kain began to explain how everything happened, along with his thought process at the ti, and how he uncovered the truth.

The more she listened, the more horrified Jamie beca.

In reality, when Kain explained how he saw through the mastermind's plan, she wasn't completely clueless; after all, it was a clearly constructed and well-founded logical deduction.

What horrified her was the speed of Kain's thinking. In a brief mont, his thought process jumped two or three tiers continuously. Moreover, each tier was a firmly drawn logical picture, not stacked stones in the air.

Jamie couldn't help but recall when Kain overca the "lying ga" challenge in the very first monts after the ga master announced the start. At that ti, she hadn't given much weight to "speed," but thinking back now, she realized that he didn't start deducing when he encountered the ga; the ga's appearance was rely the final step in completing his thought process.

"Monster..."

It was a very disrespectful word, but it uncontrollably arose in Jamie's mind. She wondered what kind of mind Kain possessed to operate like that.

As if he were cursed by intellect.

Putting aside those stray thoughts, Jamie also began to recount everything she knew from her side. And it truly provided Kain with a lot of new information.

First, the party Jamie attended was not random but had been planned beforehand. It was a coming-out party for the leading generation of the families, and at the sa ti, a welcoming party for the envoy from the Kanzax General-Commander.

"Is that all? I don't think tonight will be that uneventful."

He wasn't entirely satisfied with Jamie's account, as what she said was too general and superficial.

Faced with Kain's inquiry, Jamie thought seriously for a mont before continuing.

"There were indeed so strange things."

Jamie focused on two points.

First, the person leading the Sword Family to participate in the resource distribution ga had changed. Instead of the anticipated Lion, it was an unfamiliar individual nad Faith.

Second, not only the Egretta Family, but all other families, except the Sword Family, received urgent news almost simultaneously.

These two points also confird Kain's personal speculations: that Faith had secured the right to represent the family, and the assassination sche was being carried out across all families.

Even the Bethel Family "had their representative assassinated."

This was also within Kain's prediction. After all, to make the show believable, the Bethel Family also needed to sacrifice sothing. By having a decoy die, they could completely silence those who were suspicious.

Nevertheless, Kain still felt Jamie was missing sothing in her account.

This wasn't just intuition; in this entire grand chess ga, the mastermind still left one empty spot.

"If they finished probing the families that hired outside representatives, then what about the families that didn't hire outside representatives?"

This was the question.

Of course, the answer could be that if they didn't hire an outside representative, that family would participate in the ga using their own leading young generation. Just like if she couldn't hire Kain, Jamie would have to personally compete.

With many years of engagent in both business and politics, the families basically knew the level of each other's heirs. Essentially, there shouldn't be a need for a probing step to check the depth of the opponent's strategy. It would even be impossible to do so, as each heir is strictly protected by their family, unlike a hired representative.

But, by chance, an unexpected variable—Faith—suddenly popped up.

Kain didn't believe the mastermind from the Bethel Family wouldn't probe him.

Jamie fell into contemplation again, then slowly opened her mouth.

"Since you ntioned it, I do recall sothing..."

What Jamie rembered was, naturally, Nostragia's invisible provocation against Faith.

She hadn't paid much attention to it originally, as it was just a minor provocation. But prompted by Kain, she realized sothing was amiss.

And Kain voiced that thought for her.

"Everyone at the party is a person of status. Even though that na Faith is a stranger, the fact that even the heir Lion dared not touch him proves that the Sword Family is also standing with Faith."

"Thus, Faith's identity could be anyone. What if he's the descendant of a core mber of the Sword Family? And even if he doesn't have the highest noble status, it's still an internal matter of the Sword Family. Nostragia's favoritism towards Lion and contempt for Faith is not normal."

"Therefore, I view this provocation not as a provocation, but as concealnt."

"Concealnt? Concealing what?" Jamie asked, slightly confused.

"Concealing the true purpose of the action."

"Jamie, you must know that emotional influence significantly affects thinking, right?"

"When a person is provoked, they beco angry, and there is a saying, 'anger clouds judgnt,' which refers to that state. The more one is affected by emotions, the more their thinking is biased by those emotions and deviates from true logic. Actually, this is exactly what the mastermind was aiming for: to test whether Faith is soone who is easily influenced."
