Damian’s question hung in the air like a blade suspended over a neck. His voice carried no anger, no excitent, and no hatred. It was simple curiosity. Sohow, that terrified the Kasok princess far more than open hostility ever could.

"Why do you wield a weapon far beyond your capabilities?" Damian raised a brow as he sat comfortably upon the throne.

His tone remained indifferent, almost bored. It was as though he was discussing the weather instead of interrogating assassins who had crossed worlds to murder him.

The Kasok princess felt her throat tighten.

What the hell was going on here?

"Don’t make my darling repeat his words again."

Hazel’s voice drifted through the cathedral. All four heads snapped toward the parish entrance.

Bathed beneath the crimson glow of the blood moon, Hazel and Racheal stood side by side at the doorway. Their black jackets hugged their slender yet dangerous figures while their eyes glead with undisguised hostility.

The sight alone made the four surviving assassins feel their hearts sink.

"It’s nice to have you back, darling."

The assassins imdiately turned back toward the throne.

Only then did they realize Ruby was standing directly behind Damian.

One of her arms wrapped around his shoulders while her fingers wandered lazily across the exposed skin revealed by his unbuttoned jacket.

The sight felt surreal.

They had arrived expecting an ambush. Instead they had stumbled into a family reunion. Damian tilted his head upward and t Ruby’s gaze.

"Five months without you felt like an eternity. Co to daddy."

Ruby blinked.

For a brief mont she genuinely froze. Even after spending centuries around Lin Qui and months around Damian, she still found herself caught off guard.

The old Damian would never have said sothing like that. This Damian was different. The realization struck her harder than expected.

Back then she had believed Lin Qui possessed a naturally carefree personality while Damian simply lacked it.

Now she understood the truth. The difference had never been personality.

It was power.

Only the truly powerful possessed the luxury of being relaxed. Only those standing at the top could afford to smile while enemies surrounded them.

For the first ti since marrying Damian, Ruby felt like they finally had a husband. Without hesitation she circled the throne and settled comfortably onto his lap.

One arm slipped around his neck and the other rested against his chest. Damian pulled her closer and their lips t.

They kissed slowly and casually in the middle of a battlefield while a demigod weapon remained pointed at them. As though the assassins didn’t exist.

The Kasok princess stared at the scene in complete disbelief. anwhile her subordinates felt cold sweat pouring down their backs.

Only now did they realize how foolish this mission had been.

Not only were they unprepared for Damian, what they had failed to calculate were the three demigod wives standing behind him.

Not only had they underestimated their target. They had underestimated the forces supporting him.

The realization ca too late. Far too late.

Damian eventually broke the kiss and leaned back against his throne. His violet eyes drifted toward the assassins once more.

The warmth vanished imdiately.

"I’m yet to get a response." His voice remained calm, yet the effect was imdiate.

The Kasok princess practically jumped as though waking from a nightmare. Forcing herself to suppress the fear clawing at her chest, she answered quickly.

"I wield it because I have no choice!"

"Tsk... tsk... tsk..." Damian slowly shook his head.

His disappointnt felt worse than anger.

"You made the conscious decision to abandon your peaceful life and hunt down a prince on an entirely different planet."

He leaned slightly forward.

"And you tell you didn’t have a choice?"

The Kasok princess opened her mouth and then closed it because no words ca. Deep down she knew how absurd her answer sounded.

If she possessed enough freedom to travel across worlds and participate in an assassination, then clearly she possessed enough freedom to choose her equipnt.

Yet Damian wasn’t asking without reason.

From the mont he saw her, he had noticed sothing strange. Her life force was fading.

Not her demonic force, her life force.

Every second she wielded the bow, her lifespan visibly diminished.

The weapon wasn’t rely consuming energy. It was feeding on her existence and this raised an obvious question.

Why would anyone willingly sacrifice years of their life for a mission that wasn’t even personal?

That wasn’t bravery, that bordered on insanity.

The Kasok princess could feel sweat running down her face. Her eyes kept darting between the exits and Damian.

Her mind raced desperately for answers.

None ca.

"Babe, stop playing with your food."

Ruby stretched lazily across Damian’s lap.

"Get this over with so we can catch up properly."

Damian’s eyes narrowed slightly and nodded. The simple motion nearly stopped the assassins’ hearts.

"I..."

The Kasok princess swallowed hard.

"I am the daughter of the Kasok Marquis! Do you dare kill ?"

Her voice cracked midway. She couldn’t even maintain eye contact.

"Ooh?"

Damian’s smile widened.

"So you’re a princess."

The vicious gleam that flashed through his eyes made her entire body shudder. Behind her, the remaining assassins stood frozen.

None dared move. They could already feel death breathing down their necks. All Damian needed was a single mont of irritation.

"He killed a Duke in cold blood."

Racheal folded her arms.

"Do you think killing the daughter of a Marquis would scare him?"

"Darling, give the order."

Hazel’s smile looked painfully forced.

"I’ll happily slaughter these vermin in your stead."

The three won were visibly running out of patience.

They wanted blood and they wanted it now.

Damian sighed. The sound barely escaped his lips as he gave the orders

"Slaughter her subordinates."

The sentence had barely left his mouth before the room exploded. Three sonic booms erupted simultaneously.

The Kasok princess didn’t even see movent.

One mont her companions were fine and the next mont Ruby, Hazel and Racheal stood beside them.

Each woman held a severed head casually in one hand and blood erupted from the headless corpses like broken fountains.

The bodies staggered and struggled then collapsed heavily onto the floor.

The expressions frozen on the severed heads were identical.

Shock, disbelief and confusion.

They hadn’t even realized they were dead.

"BASTARDS!"

The Kasok princess scread. Grief and rage instantly overwheld fear. She pulled the bowstring violently and ark crimson energy exploded outward.

A massive storm ford around her as more power gathered than before.

"Hmph."

A cold snort echoed through the cathedral and the Kasok princess blinked. Damian was already standing directly before her.

He had crossed the distance so casually she hadn’t even seen him move. The raging crimson storm battered against his clothes and his hair danced in the violent winds.

Yet he remained perfectly still and calm.As though standing inside a hurricane was no different from taking a walk.

His hand reached forward and the mont his fingers touched the bow everything vanished.

The storm and the energy disappeared. Even the weapon itself seed to fall silent.

The Kasok princess froze and her eyes widened. She could no longer feel the connection. The bow had simply stopped listening.

It was as though the artifact had abandoned her entirely.

Impossible!

Only a demigod could wield a demigod artifact. She had only managed it because the weapon belonged to her brother.

Even then, the bow rely tolerated her.

Artifacts of this level possessed loyalty bordering on obsession. So remained faithful even centuries after their masters died.

Yet Damian had severed her connection instantly. The horrifying conclusion hit her imdiately.

"Demigod..."

Her voice trembled.

"He is a demigod..."

Silence filled the cathedral.

Even Hazel, Ruby and Racheal exchanged brief looks. The Kasok princess finally understood how badly she had miscalculated.

No prince should have reached this level so quickly.

Not even Sol.

Yet it strangely made a lot of sense. Damians reunite included three demigod wives. They were an endless stream of quality resources to the sun of lust that can grow stronger though sex.

This was an advantages none of his predecessors had ever possessed.

Damian examined the bow briefly before casually resting it across his shoulder. His eyes settled upon her once more.

"We’ll be taking you as a hostage."

The Kasok princess felt her stomach drop.

Damian’s smile widened slightly.

"Your family will either submit another demigod-tier weapon or artifact or I’ll use you to forge my first demonic cursed weapon." His eyes glead with dangerous amusent.
