An explosion echoed across the Border Town once more.
Boom!!!
The mansion windows trembled violently.
Dust fell lightly from the ceiling.
Inside the large visitor chamber, Clay’s sleeping body twitched slightly beneath the blanket before his eyes slowly opened halfway. His hair looked ssy from sleep while his expression carried obvious annoyance.
"...What now..."
Another distant explosion echoed.
Boom!!!
Clay stared blankly toward the ceiling for several seconds.
Then he slowly turned his head.
"Maid Cy."
The door imdiately opened.
Cerys stepped inside calmly as though she had already been waiting nearby the entire ti. Her expression remained composed, though faint sounds of destruction could still be heard from far away outside the mansion.
"Yes, young master."
Clay rubbed his eyes tiredly.
"What’s happening?"
Cerys answered imdiately.
"Borzoi is fighting soone from the Holy Kingdom."
Clay’s face imdiately beca irritated.
"...Again?"
Another explosion echoed outside.
Boom!!!
The entire mansion lightly shook once more.
Clay’s eyelids twitched.
Then he buried half his face back into the soft pillow.
"Shut them both up."
Cerys bowed her head slightly.
"Will do, young master."
Clay waved his hand lazily.
Then turned around completely.
Not even ten seconds later—
He was already asleep again.
...
Far away from the mansion, the battlefield had beco completely unrecognizable.
The ground was ruined beyond repair.
Massive craters covered the land everywhere.
Broken trees burned from leftover mana explosions while deep trenches stretched across the battlefield like scars carved into the earth itself.
At the center—
Maxwell and Borzoi continued fighting.
No.
At this point—
It could barely even be called a fight anymore.
Borzoi was defending.
Only defending.
Boom!!!
Maxwell’s scaled fist slamd against Borzoi’s remaining arm again.
The impact shook Borzoi’s entire body violently.
Before he could even breathe—
Another attack ca imdiately afterward.
Bang!!!
A kick slamd against his ribs.
Then another punch.
Then another.
Maxwell no longer fought like a human warrior.
He moved like a raging beast.
Wild.
Violent.
rciless.
Every attack carried monstrous strength behind it while the dragon scales covering his body continued spreading further and further.
Golden mana erupted nonstop from him.
The dragon shadow behind his body had also beco much larger now, towering high above the battlefield like so ancient creature watching over him.
anwhile Borzoi—
Was getting pushed back continuously.
Boom!!!
Another strike collided against his defense.
Crack.
Pain spread across his arm instantly.
Borzoi gritted his teeth.
His remaining arm already looked heavily injured now. Bruises covered his skin while blood continued dripping nonstop from multiple wounds caused by Maxwell’s transford body.
Yet Maxwell kept attacking.
Without pause.
Without rcy.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Every collision forced Borzoi backward another step.
His feet dragged across the ruined earth repeatedly while his muscles scread painfully from the nonstop impacts.
Still—
He defended.
Because he had no choice.
The mont he stopped defending—
He knew Maxwell would tear him apart instantly.
Another punch ca toward his face.
Borzoi blocked.
But imdiately afterward—
A knee slamd into his stomach.
Boom!!!
Borzoi coughed blood violently.
Then Maxwell’s elbow crashed into his shoulder.
Crack!
Pain exploded across Borzoi’s body.
His defense almost collapsed right there.
But sohow—
He endured.
His red skin stead heavily now while his Berserk Mode continued pushing his body past its limits.
Yet the more he defended—
The worse things beca.
Because Maxwell’s attacks—
Were still getting stronger.
Borzoi noticed it clearly now.
Every minute that passed—
The dragon-like thing inside Maxwell seed to awaken further.
His strength kept increasing.
His speed kept increasing.
Even the sharpness behind his attacks continued becoming more terrifying.
And Borzoi—
Was getting tired.
Very tired.
His breathing had beco rough long ago.
His remaining arm already trembled slightly every ti he blocked another attack.
His body felt heavier.
Slower.
anwhile Maxwell looked increasingly monstrous instead.
The scales now covered most of his upper body completely.
His fingers had partially transford into claw-like shapes.
Even his teeth looked sharper now whenever he opened his mouth during those furious dragon-like roars.
Boom!!!
Another devastating kick slamd into Borzoi’s guard.
This ti—
His defense nearly broke apart completely.
Borzoi staggered backward heavily.
His arm shook violently.
Maxwell imdiately appeared before him again.
Too fast.
Borzoi barely raised his defense in ti before another glowing fist slamd into him.
Bang!!!
A loud crack echoed.
Borzoi’s eyes widened.
His arm—
Had fractured.
Pain exploded through his body instantly.
Maxwell attacked again imdiately afterward.
Boom!!!
Borzoi was sent skidding backward across the battlefield violently.
Dust exploded everywhere.
Yet Maxwell did not stop.
He chased after him instantly like a predator hunting prey.
Boom!
Another punch.
Bang!
Another kick.
Crack!
Another elbow.
Blood sprayed continuously now from Borzoi’s mouth while his body stumbled repeatedly from the overwhelming pressure.
Still—
He defended.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Because survival was the only thing left.
Boom!!!
Maxwell’s clawed hand tore across Borzoi’s chest.
Blood splattered violently.
Borzoi retaliated with a desperate shoulder slam, but Maxwell barely staggered before smashing his scaled forehead directly into Borzoi’s face.
Crack!!!
Borzoi’s vision blurred instantly.
His defense loosened for just a mont—
And Maxwell instantly took advantage.
Boom!!!
A punch slamd directly into Borzoi’s ribs.
Several bones cracked loudly.
Borzoi spat blood heavily.
Then another attack ca.
And another.
And another.
Maxwell no longer gave him room to breathe at all.
The battlefield exploded nonstop beneath the storm of attacks while Borzoi continued retreating desperately.
For the first ti in years—
Real fear slowly began crawling through Borzoi’s body.
Not fear of pain.
Not fear of defeat.
Fear of dying.
Because Maxwell truly looked capable of killing him now.
Boom!!!
Another kick slamd into his defense.
This ti—
Borzoi’s arm finally gave out completely.
Crack!!!
His defense collapsed.
His remaining arm dropped downward painfully.
And Maxwell’s glowing golden eyes imdiately sharpened.
Borzoi’s instincts scread.
Danger.
Death.
Maxwell appeared before him instantly.
His scaled fist pulled backward fully while terrifying dragon mana gathered around it violently.
The air trembled.
The ground beneath them cracked apart.
Borzoi tried raising his arm again—
Too slow.
His exhausted body no longer responded properly.
He could only stare at Maxwell’s incoming strike.
So this is it...
The thought surfaced naturally.
Borzoi grinned weakly despite the blood covering his face.
Young Warchief...
Looks like I ssed up.
Maxwell’s fist moved forward.
Then—
A woman’s voice suddenly echoed across the battlefield.
"Don’t!"
