After changing into her little green dinosaur pajamas, Jiangg Yao flopped onto the sofa. She propped up her fair feet, now bare after taking off her white socks, their soles a rosy pink. Chen Yuan glanced over from a distance.
"I'm going to take a shower now, okay?"
"Okay~" Jiangg Yao replied absently, her fingers swiping across her phone screen as she browsed the photos they had taken that day. "Go ahead."
Seeing her lazy deanor, it seed she had no intention of moving for at least half an hour. Chen Yuan was happy to have so quiet ti to himself, so he quickly changed his clothes and stepped into the bathroom.
After fishing for over two hours, he felt covered in a lingering, salty-damp, fishy sll.
This was mainly because every fish they had caught had passed through his hands.
Jiangg Yao had only poked the tiny scorpionfish. At the end of the day, she disliked the fish's slimy coating; girls just prefer to be clean.
Humming a light, naless tune, Chen Yuan hung up his bath towel and started filling the tub with hot water. Thick white steam quickly filled the room.
When she heard the sound of running water, Jiangg Yao, who hadn't even been looking up, suddenly shot a furtive glance toward the bathroom. Once she confird the young master had started his shower, the lazy expression on her face vanished.
She quickly tapped at her phone and made a video call.
Every now and then, she would glance toward the bathroom.
BEEP—
The call connected.
On the phone's screen, a woman who looked exactly like her appeared. This woman, however, was wearing a pure white T-shirt and sparkling earrings, her long hair draped over her shoulders.
She exuded the gentle air of a mature, sophisticated woman.
"You're back?" Jiangg Ning blinked. On the screen, she picked up a coffee from her desk and took a sip.
"We just got to the hotel. I just finished changing," Yaoyao answered eagerly, bursting with things she wanted to share.
"Where's Chen?"
"He's in the shower, so I took the chance to video call you. Oh my god, let tell you, I was so pissed off earlier. You have no idea how outrageous that girl was…"
Hugging her knees and holding up her phone, Jiangg Yao vividly recounted the entire story to her sister: running into Ke Bing that day, everything that happened during their encounter, the dinner party, and the kick she delivered.
Listening to the story, Jiangg Ning felt both anxious and indignant.
She furrowed her brow from ti to ti, occasionally asking nervously, "So what did Chen say?"

Ningning's face instantly turned red. She clutched her forehead, and half of her face disappeared from the screen.
She could barely stand to listen to what Yaoyao was saying.
"Well, yeah! Was I just supposed to watch her hit on him? I don't have that kind of fetish," Jiangg Yao said, not thinking she was wrong in the slightest. She snorted. "If there's a next ti, I'll hit her with a 'Nine Heavens Thunderbolt Double Kick,' followed by a 'Shocking Chang'an's First Punch.' That Rourou won't get away with it!"
"Alright, alright, that's enough, Jiangg Yao. It's fine to say that to , but don't say it in front of Chen Yuan. You two have only been dating for a little while... You should try to be a bit gentler in your daily life."
"Hehe, I know." Jiangg Yao pursed her lips. She thought her sister had a point. Once she and Chen Yuan were married, she could let her personality run wild. For now, she should stick to her soft, cute, and adorable persona.
The two sisters chatted and gossiped for a while longer.
When Yaoyao asked how her afternoon had gone, Jiangg Ning shrugged and said languidly, "What else was there to do? It was a boring afternoon. I kept getting sleepy while writing my thesis, so I had to drink several cups of coffee. Then I ate so sushi. And now I'm just spacing out, not sure what to do."
"Is that so..." Jiangg Yao gloated inwardly. 'Finally, my sister gets a taste of what it's like to be lonely.' But she still offered so insincere words of comfort, "Don't worry, it'll be your turn tomorrow."
"But that ans I still have a whole boring evening to get through today."
Jiangg Ning sighed.
In truth, it was a lie to say she wasn't envious. Besides feeling drowsy, she had spent the entire afternoon missing Chen Yuan.
While writing her thesis, she would occasionally fiddle with the trinkets on her desk. She would get lost in thought and only snap out of it after a long while.
Compared to the sweetness of being together, this loneliness felt all the more stark.

Just then, Chen Yuan walked out of the bathroom, looking refreshed.

They were tired after a long day.
All they wanted to do was relax and quietly play on their phones in bed.
But the hotel's internet was exceptionally terrible.

'Such a fine night, and we're going to talk about sothing exciting.'
Chen Yuan couldn't help but feel his cheeks grow hot as the atmosphere grew palpably charged.
"How about we talk about your childhood stories with that Rourou?" Jiangg Yao said earnestly. "I want to hear them! And I promise I absolutely, positively won't get mad!"
"On second thought, never mind. Why don't you go ahead and call the hotel for that fruit? And ask about the internet while you're at it."
Chen Yuan instantly rolled over, leaving only his back facing her. Of course he didn't believe her "I promise I absolutely, positively won't get mad" promise. 'Not even a dog would believe that!'
"Tch. Fine, don't tell . It's not like I wanted to hear it anyway!"
