Chapter 1604: 539. The Weaver of Destiny’s first loyalty mission is to play the role of the long-haired Princess.

“The matter of the Blood Covenant… let’s talk about it after we complete the operation in the Dark Valley.”

Murphy pushed away the Weaver of Destiny who had been tempting him.

His actions were decisive.

On one hand, he didn’t want to anger Triss.

On the other hand, Murphy’s preferences were rather conservative—the sheer “purity” of this “non-human maiden” standing before him was high enough to frighten him.

Her humanoid form had six hands, and her spider form was even more terrifying. While, to be honest, she wasn’t exactly unpleasant to look at, what kind of normal man could possibly feel aroused by sothing like that?

He didn’t need to say it out loud.

But his simple, pushing-away gesture said it all. Veylanther, a woman who held a prestigious position even within the Shadow Elf Family, could naturally understand Murphy’s attitude.

In an instant, she transford from a beguiling temptress into a “sacred maiden,” adopting an exceedingly modest and respectful stance while remaining before him, awaiting Murphy’s orders. This gesture alone revealed that all her prior fawning, yearning, seduction, and debasent were just acts!

Indeed, the chosen ones of the Lady Spider certainly had an extraordinary talent for this sort of thing.

At this mont, Murphy, who was still far from being worldly and experienced as a Vampire Lord, felt uneasy about Veylanther’s pledge of allegiance. He imdiately decided to contact Triss to seek the Crimson Witch’s opinion.

However, truth be told, when the Weaver of Destiny revealed her connection to the Lady Spider, Murphy’s concerns had already lessened significantly.

The reason was simple: he had already encountered similar situations before. Aside from the unusual location and eerie circumstances of eting Veylanther, he could summarize it as being akin to Turner and the God of the North Wind, LiWen and the Eastern Holy Spirit, or Old Feinock and Avalon.

Every ti, it was a Star Giant placing their “eyes” by Murphy’s side.

If we were to count Master Irich, who had beco enamored with Flying Sky Wine and was now lingering in Transylvania unwilling to depart, the Mother Goddess’s “eyes” were also already in place.

Alright, affairs involving gods sound ostensibly prestigious, but when the sa thing has happened three tis and is about to happen a fourth, even the most delightful or astonishing tricks lose their charm.

Murphy’s ntal state now was one of utter indifference, akin to a pig that doesn’t fear boiling water.

He had long known that sooner or later, he would have to deal with every deity on the continent, and when he unsealed the myriad phenona in the Creator’s Land, Murphy had learned from the Creator’s ssage that these Star Giants were all connected to the Creator.

The Creator affectionately referred to them as “adorable little animals,” which implied their interactions with Alpha were not rely predestined—there was likely an instruction left behind by the Creator before departing.

This was sothing that could not be refused.

Besides, Murphy genuinely needed these high-level forces right now.

But being a Vampire Governor for half a year now, Murphy was acutely aware that the object of soone’s deepest desire should never be so easily handed over. That very desire could serve as the greatest motivator to spur a subordinate’s diligence. As soone well-versed in the art of manipulation, Murphy, though having decided to accept this uninvited Weaver of Destiny,

would not let this prevent him from promptly encouraging his new recruit to work earnestly.

After pausing for a mont and confirming within the Core Bead, Murphy found that his players had already discovered the entrance to Baphot’s Underground Palace. They had split into several small teams and were currently exploring downward.

If luck was on their side, in about twenty minutes they would reach the zone Murphy had already cleared.

However, given the complex terrain of Baphot’s Palace, this timing would likely be extended until so fortunate soul stumbled into the area.

This ant Murphy still had so ti.

So he asked once again:

“You just said that beneath this Underground Palace lies the last remnants of an Evil God?”

“No, no, no, my handso master, your terminology in matters of Spiritual Energy is truly inadequate.”

Veylanther shook her head and explained:

“What I said was that this Palace hides so cunning remnants left behind by an unnad Evil God in this era. There is no direct route here leading to the Evil God’s Nest, but thanks to the Nightmare Heretical Sect’s Goat-Man thugs committing evil deeds day by day, the essence of despair and sorrow now suffuses this Underground Palace.”

“We are currently only in the upper region.”

“This is where the Goat-n conduct gladiatorial sacrifices, a place for them to recreationally ‘raise livestock.'”

“The true Baphot Underground Palace lies below. From where we stand, we can descend all the way to the Goat-n’s true lair.”

“The most wicked and mad Goat-Man marauders within the Dark Mountain Range, led by an old fellow nad Larush, uncovered remnants of certain rituals here that enable them to freely travel between this location and their domain.”

“I also detected that they seem to have grasped so sinister powers related to dreams, likely gifted by the unnad Evil God they serve.”

“In short, master, this place is an abyss of evil.”

“If undisturbed by outside forces, within a few years at most, the Goat-n will achieve their ‘ultimate prowess’—granting them the ability to awaken that Evil God.”

“Ti has eroded the true na of that Evil God, but the Goat-n, following local customs, refer to it as ‘Baphot.’ Essentially, this place can be considered a ‘Baphot Nightmare Temple,’ a veritable den of evil.”

“Soone with a great mission such as yourself should not linger in a perilous place like this.”
