"Yeah," Su Chen nodded. "It seems Wei Yinsuo is dead, and ng Qi’s body has been stolen."

Teng Liang looked baffled. "Wei Yinsuo is dead?"

"That’s what Judge Lei said. I don’t know the specifics." Su Chen looked at his senior brother. "The Chief wants to find ng Qi."

"I’m afraid that will be difficult." Teng Liang, finally understanding why he was here, frowned. "It’s no different than looking for a needle in a haystack."

"We’ll give it a shot," Su Chen said, unconcerned. "I’m going to review the files on the Faceless Ghost. Want to co?"

"Let’s go," Teng Liang said succinctly.

...

At the sa ti, in the back kitchen of the Judicial Court’s cafeteria, three figures gathered together. One of them was none other than the resurrected ng Qi.

But right now, his face was ashen. "The other explosion went off before ours, and it was a big one. The Judicial Court locked the place down early."

"What the hell is going on!"

He was furious. After all the trouble he’d gone to to persuade the Believers of those other Deceitful Gods in Ying Feng to stir up a huge ss, drawing away most of the Judicial Court’s forces and creating the perfect opportunity... and now, so random explosion had trapped him here.

The other two couldn’t answer him. ng Qi took a deep breath. "You two, get into your disguises. Don’t stick together. Stall for as much ti as you can."

The two Faceless Ghost Followers sent to extract him nodded and left.

’It’s fine. As long as I can secure this vessel, I’ll still have a chance. It won’t be so easy for these people to find .’ A glint in ng Qi’s eyes, his body began to shift and morph until he looked like soone else entirely. Then he brazenly walked out.

’First, I need to see what’s going on.’

This kind of disguise couldn’t fool the Judicial Court’s scanners, but it was more than enough to fool the naked eye.

He blended in with the Judges and quickly picked up so information.

"The dical wing was attacked, and Wei Yinsuo might be dead?" When ng Qi heard this, he froze for a second. Then, he realized sothing.

’Soone used my attempt to steal the body as a cover to pull sothing shady!’ A vicious glint flashed in his eyes. ’I knew it! The other Deceitful God’s Followers wouldn’t just play along. Damn them!’

...

All data related to the Deceitful Gods within the Judicial Court was sealed on a separate server. Located in the deepest reaches of the building and completely isolated from any external network, accessing it required the approval of at least one Chief Judge.

The silver-white building before him had no visible seams, as if cast from a single mold. A row of dark blue, luminous patterns was inlaid into its surface, and its roof was a smooth do, upon which one could faintly see ripples of flowing Energy.

It wasn’t tall—only about three ters—but it was guarded by several Senior Judges. Chong Jingtian had already issued the command, so Su Chen was free to enter, but Teng Liang was stopped outside.

"Apologies, but only you may enter." The guard’s face was impassive. He was a Tier Four Professional.

Teng Liang didn’t seem to mind. "Just be careful in there," he said, reminding Su Chen not to linger and to focus only on what was necessary.

Su Chen stepped inside. The interior was simple: behind an alloy table, a chanical head floated in midair. It spoke in a completely emotionless voice:

"Core Seed Su Chen. Temporary authority to review all data related to the Faceless Ghost has been granted."

Su Chen had it list all available data on the Faceless Ghost and began to go through it file by file. He had been curious about these Deceitful Gods for a very long ti.

The Judicial Court’s records were, without a doubt, the most comprehensive and extensive available.

He scrolled through the files, reading every detail carefully.

"...First recorded appearance of Faceless Ghost Followers: seven hundred years ago. Believer characteristics: faceless, prone to disguising themselves as others and integrating into their lives. They harvest the Souls of the desperate by assuming the appearance of their loved ones..."

"...It was not until five hundred years ago that they seed to have truly caught the attention of the Faceless Ghost, leading to the birth of the first Priest..."

Su Chen paused when he read this. ’What does that an?’

’The Believers appeared before, but it had nothing to do with the Faceless Ghost?’

He questioned the chanical head, which in turn pulled up a file detailing the common traits of all Deceitful Gods.

"The requirents to beco a Believer of any Deceitful God can be t unconsciously. Upon fulfillnt, the individual beholds the Deceitful God and becos a Believer..."

"Only when the number of these Believers reaches a certain threshold will it attract the Deceitful God’s attention, leading to the birth of the first Priest, who gains the ability to truly communicate with the Deceitful God."

’So that’s how it is...’ Su Chen was surprised. For normal professions, you only feel the connection *after* you know the requirents and complete them.

But the professions of the Deceitful God’s Believers were different. You could form a connection even by fulfilling the requirents unconsciously, without ever knowing what they were.

For example, the only requirent to beco one of Black Tuo’s followers was to hold it in reverence.

In other words, simply knowing the na "Black Tuo" could be enough to beco one of its Believers.

’But would anyone learn the na Black Tuo for no reason?’

Su Chen thought it was possible. After all, the planet was littered with ruins.

’The true forms of these Deceitful Gods are even more powerful than I imagined,’ Su Chen realized.

Based on the fragnted records, he could infer that the Believers on Red Thunder Star hadn’t initially attracted the attention of the Deceitful Gods. The Gods had only cast their gazes this way after the Believers’ numbers had grown.

’So, before they turned their attention here, were these Deceitful Gods focused on other places?’

Su Chen’s mind raced with possibilities, but he quickly reined in his thoughts. Setting aside the general information about the Faceless Ghost for later, he asked, "What about the profession details for the Faceless Ghost Followers?"

"Warning. After reviewing the profession information for Faceless Ghost Followers, your file will be given a covert ’Potential Contamination’ tag. You will be subject to random screenings by the Judgnt Departnt to identify Believers."
