Regina Kelloway didn’t say a word, and remained silent even after Lady Patrice finished speaking.
She had guessed that Lady Patrice might be calling her about Rebecca Kelloway’s situation.
But there was a difference between guessing about it and hearing Lady Patrice say those words out loud.
At that mont, Regina felt as if sothing had ruthlessly sliced through her heart.
And that cut ca from the person closest to her.
That’s why it hurt so much.
As expected.
In the face of family interests, blood ties didn’t amount to much.
Even though they knew she had been wronged.
They still demanded that she shoulder all the bla for Rebecca.
Even if they might know deep down that she would be cyberbullied and face backlash because of it.
But what did all of that matter compared to the Kelloway family’s interests?
"Regina, did you hear what I just said?" Lady Patrice raised her voice as she hadn’t heard Regina’s response, "You need to post a blog right now. If you don’t know what to write, I can send you the draft, and you can just copy it."
"Mom," Regina’s eyes filled with sadness and disappointnt, as she softly called out Lady Patrice, "Mom, do you know what Joanna did?"
"Of course I know." Lady Patrice’s voice was cold, "Joanna was wrong. But, I can understand why she did what she did. That actress surnad Lawrence is not a good person at all. If it weren’t for her, your sister would have married into the Heath family by now. If we had ford an alliance with the Heath family, our Kelloway family would not be facing a crisis. It is understandable that your sister is upset."
Regina listened to Lady Patrice uttering those twisted moral compass words, opened her mouth but couldn’t say anything for a mont.
"That brat from the Parker family is despicable too. He used to be head-over-heels for Joanna and I really thought he was sincere towards her. But who knew, they are all the sa, he isn’t any better."
"Just a little flirting from that siren with the last na Lawrence, and he changed his heart. That siren is really cunning, seducing several of the most outstanding unmarried young n from Closia’s generational friendship families."
"To think that the Heath family is willing to accept such a restless siren into their family, I’m sure they’ll have scandals sooner or later!"
"Mom, Joanna isn’t the kind of person you describe," Regina defended Joanna as Lady Patrice was slandering her, "She did not seduce Frank. She and Ashton love each other truly. They are not..."
"Regina Kelloway, shut up! Are you a Kelloway or a Lawrence? You’re actually defending outsiders now?" Lady Patrice seed to be enraged, her words filled with anger.
"I’m not." Regina closed her eyes and clenched her lips, "Mom, you misunderstand Joanna. I’ve t her, and she really isn’t the person you describe."
"You’re still defending that siren? If it weren’t for her stealing Ashton Heath, your sister would be in her place now. You’re really making angry. In the beginning, when your sister told that you might be in puppy love, I didn’t believe it, but it seems like it’s true now."
"Regina, answer honestly, are you in puppy love with Jeremy Lawrence? That’s why you’re defending his sister?"
Regina was stunned and the expression on her pale face changed slightly.
She imdiately denied it, "I’m not."
"You still deny it, so why are you constantly defending Joanna Lawrence?" Lady Patrice was furious, "I don’t care if you are or not, but let be clear. You better not have any involvent with Jeremy Lawrence, and if you do, break it off imdiately."
