“Ms. Joanna, Lady Patrice, Sir Darren, Ms. Annie has returned,” said the Kelloway’s butler Rowan, entering the main hall with a petite figure trailing behind him.
The atmosphere in the hall was tense.
Rowan cast a glance at Rebecca Kelloway, who was emanating coldness and whose face was incredibly grim as she sat beside Lady Patrice. He then glanced at Regina Kelloway following him, and couldn’t help but fear for her.
This ti, Ms. Joanna was furious.
Everyone in the Kelloway family knew that Ms. Annie had angered Ms. Joanna. Upon her return, Ms. Joanna had thrown such a violent tantrum, smashing nurous items and terrifying everyone.
Sir Darren and Lady Patrice seed enraged as well.
It seems like Ms. Annie was in serious trouble now.
Currently, the Kelloway family was under the charge of Ms. Joanna.
What Ms. Annie did had tarnished Ms. Joanna’s reputation and reportedly, greatly impacted the business as well.
No one could guess what Ms. Joanna would do to Ms. Annie.
Even though Rowan was worried, he still believed they were relatives after all.
Despite her anger, she couldn’t really harm her own sister, could she?
Rowan pondered over this, glanced once more at Regina and slowed down his pace a little, then reminded Rebecca in a hushed voice, “Ms. Annie, Ms. Joanna is now very angry. Lady Patrice and Sir Darren are also angry. When you speak later…try to speak in a gentle tone, apologize, and you must never argue with them.”
After speaking, he moved aside.
Regina approached Rebecca.
She looked at Rebecca, whose face was set in a grim expression. She also observed the equally stormy faces of Lady Patrice and Princeton, the head of the Kelloway family. After a few seconds of silence, she softly said, “Dad, Mom, Joanna, I’m back.”
Just as Regina’s voice faded, a shadow fell before her eyes. Rebecca rose to her feet, raising her hand to land a heavy slap on her face.
Regina’s face was whipped to one side.
Her face instantly started swelling.
Rebecca’s reaction had startled everybody in the hall.
Even Princeton and Lady Patrice were taken aback. Lady Patrice imdiately stood up, her eyes wide in shock, “Rebecca, what are you doing hitting your sister?”
Rebecca’s eyes were icy cold and her expression somber, her gaze on Regina devoid of warmth, “Why can’t I hit her? She’s biting the hand that feeds her! She enjoys everything the Kelloway family provides, her current comfortable life is all given by the Kelloway family. But when it cos to crucial monts, she betrays us for an outsider, pushing the Kelloway family into the fire.”
“Shouldn’t a thankless wretch like her be hit?”
Lady Patrice froze for a mont, her eyes revealing a pang of heartache as she looked at the swelling on Regina’s face.
Lady Patrice had always cherished her younger daughter.
Though she was angry with Regina for her actions this ti, seeing her beloved daughter hit still hurt her.
“Rebecca, Regina is just a little confused.” Lady Patrice sympathetically walked over to Regina, held her hand, and tried to make peace.
