She opened Twitter and sent Ashton Heath a goodnight ssage before getting ready for bed.
Just as she was about to exit Twitter, she noticed a red "1" in the contacts column. She clicked on it and saw that soone had sent her a friend request in the "New Friends" section.
The person requesting to be her friend had a blank profile picture and their nickna was "Z."
The source of their connection showed that they had added her by searching her Twitter ID.
This person called "Z" did not provide any verification information while sending the friend request, and their Twitter Monts were also private, revealing no useful information. Joanna hesitated for a mont, then decided to decline the request.
Unexpectedly,
the very next second, the other party sent another friend request with verification.
This ti, probably fearing that she would decline again, the person attached a ssage: I am from XX brokerage company, Ms. Joanna, please accept.
Joanna looked at the new verification ssage and hesitated for a few seconds before accepting.
She didn’t usually add strangers with unclear backgrounds.
But if the other party was soone she knew from within the industry, even if they were not close, she would generally not refuse.
Regardless of whether there would be future collaborations.
After all, she felt that adding soone wasn’t a big deal, and for many newcors, it might be an opportunity.
After she accepted, the person quickly sent her a Twitter ssage.
Z: Ms. Joanna, hello.
Out of politeness, Joanna replied: Hello, may I ask who gave you my Twitter ID? Do you have any work-related matters to discuss with ?
Z replied quickly: Yes, I obtained your Twitter ID from a friend. I really admire Ms. Joanna’s temperant and image; there’s an advertisent I’d like to talk to you about. Would you be interested?
It turned out that the person wanted to discuss an advertisent with her.
Joanna was very popular at the mont, and there were many brands and companies interested in having her as their spokesperson for advertisents.
However, Z was the first person to directly add her on Twitter for such a conversation.
Joanna thought this person was a bit strange.
Normally, such matters would be discussed through her agent.
Circumventing the agent and directly contacting the artist was not very common.
Despite her suspicions, Joanna didn’t dwell on it for too long. Though such situations were rare, they weren’t unheard of.
She guessed that probably because there had been so much competition for her endorsents lately, the other party thought that contacting her directly would increase their chances.
Having just told Linda earlier that day about her plans to temporarily withdraw from the public eye, Joanna naturally didn’t consider taking on any additional work.
So she gently declined: Sorry, but for work-related matters, please discuss with my agent. I don’t personally deal with such issues.
Z replied quickly: I apologize for bothering you, Ms. Joanna.
Joanna had just typed "it’s okay" but hadn’t sent it yet when Z sent another ssage.
Z: It’s getting late, you should be resting, Ms. Joanna. I won’t disturb your rest any longer. Goodnight.
Seeing the final "Goodnight," Joanna couldn’t help but feel a little strange.
There was sothing odd about the interaction, though she couldn’t put her finger on what it was.
Nonetheless, out of politeness, she replied: Alright, goodnight.
After replying, Joanna deleted the conversation and exited Twitter.
Having flown for ten hours straight, and after almost two hours of fussing around the hotel, she was exhausted and sleepy.
She silenced her phone, tossed it aside, turned off the lights, and closed her eyes. She soon fell into a deep sleep.
