If either Raine or Elise were present, they would imdiately recognize that familiar tone as the long-absent voice of Chris.
Beside Chris, Fabian spun the dagger in his hand, glancing at the surrounding warning traps as he spoke without turning his head:
"Two reasons."
"One is because the rewards for killing Wild Boar People by the Bornberry Adventurer Association have been significantly increased recently."
"The second reason I heard is that the Governor of Bornberry, Marquis Gareth, dispatched elite city guards to sweep the outskirts of the Valley of Dead Water."
"So now, we’re unlikely to encounter any Wild Boar People on the periter."
Hearing Fabian’s explanation, Chris frowned and said, "This is troubleso."
Their promotion mission was neither too difficult nor too easy.
It was simple, because in the past, a promotion mission requiring the retrieval of a weapon from an adult Wild Boar Person was considered not particularly challenging.
In fact, with decent stealth skills, one wouldn’t even need to engage in combat with the Wild Boar People and could simply steal a weapon to complete it.
It was difficult, however, because the current situation was very different from before; lone or paired Wild Boar People sentinels were scarcely seen on the outskirts of the Valley of Dead Water.
That ant they might need to venture deeper into the Valley of Dead Water to complete the promotion mission.
This would also an an increase in risk.
"We originally wanted to complete the promotion mission quickly and return to surprise Reya, Raine, and Elise."
"Grande, do you think when they find out all three of us have beco Black Iron level adventurers, they’ll be so shocked they can’t close their mouths?"
At this mont, Chris seed to imagine that scene, and a smug smile appeared on his face.
Several months ago, the three of them ca to Bornberry and found Weapon Master Beiseth Mitchell. Whether it was their talents or years of adventurous training, they were on the brink of a breakthrough.
Fabian was the first to break through as a Class and beca an official Rogue.
Soon after, Grande also successfully broke through and beca a special class — Dual Swordsman, which earned praise from Master Beiseth.
Chris, who lagged behind, seed driven by his two friends’ consecutive promotions and dedicated himself to intense training over the following two weeks. He finally achieved his breakthrough as a Class, becoming a Shield Master.
The delighted trio initially planned to return to Mill Town imdiately, but after so discussion, they decided to stay in Bornberry and complete their Black Iron level adventurer promotion mission.
One step to success!
And so, they embarked on this promotion mission journey.
"Hard to say. Have you considered that Raine or Reya might have already advanced to Two Levels Classes?"
Grande remained reticent, but did not share Chris’s optimism regarding the scenario he envisioned.
"Not really... It’s only been a little over two months, and to advance two levels in such a short ti? I don’t believe it."
Chris frowned, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I’ll bet my beard that your friends couldn’t possibly advance two levels to beco level two Classes within a few months."
On the other side of the campfire, a dwarf warrior with a spindle-shaped stone tied below his beard, spoke in a deep voice.
The dwarf was nad Blotto, and at 87 years old, he had just reached the class level last month.
His trip to the Valley of Dead Water was precisely to complete the Black Iron level adventurer promotion test.
"Blotto, maybe not others, but for our good friend Raine, it’s not entirely off the table," Fabian twirled his dagger thoughtfully before replying.
"Shorty, what do you think?" The dwarf Blotto looked at the last mber of the team and asked.
