However, this isn’t a regular activation of the Holy Cross Rose, so even though it has resistance, it’s limited to just not being the target of card effects and can’t be destroyed by them.
But it must be said, An Hai’s struggle was indeed quite effective.
To clear An Hai’s field, Shen Sui had used a lot of resources and had no better ans to deal with Saint Louise.
However, even without the ans to defeat An Hai in one go, Shen Sui still used the effect of [Substitute Puppet: Jamie] in the graveyard, banished it to search for [Star Abyss White Dragon: Qishala] from the deck.
Qishala was special summoned in the form of the Queen of Dragons, followed by the release of the Dragon Race Derivative summoned through Qishala’s effect, paying all Soul Points, transforming [Dragon Queen Qishala] into [Dragon Conqueror Qishala].
[Dragon Conqueror Qishala]’s effect is that when the opponent activates a card effect targeting Shen Sui or Shen Sui’s field, it can be activated to negate that effect, then reveal the top card of Shen Sui’s deck for judgnt and discard. If the result is a Follower Card, the current chain is halted; if it’s not a Follower Card, Qishala’s Spirit Value decreases by 3000.
This effect is not limited to once per turn; as long as Qishala’s Spirit Value isn’t zero, it can continue to be activated.
The Spirit Value of the Dragon Conqueror is Soul Points paid * 500, and over ten thousand Spirit Value can counter many of An Hai’s cards.
At this point, Shen Sui had nothing else to do, so he ended the main phase.
Because [Bloodthirsty Rose] was banished by An Hai through the effect of [Conservation Rose Rootstock], Shen Sui couldn’t draw two cards from the deck at the end of the main phase.
"Qishala, attack the Holy Cross Rose." Although he knew it wouldn’t cause any battle damage nor destroy An Hai’s followers, Shen Sui still commanded Qishala to attack during the battle phase.
