lody Thorne was so startled that she almost threw the lunch box at the person in front of her.
"It’s ," Caleb dodged her attack and caught the lunch box she had thrown.
"Are you trying to scare to death?" lody Thorne sneered coldly, snatching back the lunch box from his hands, "Why didn’t you say sothing!"
"Do you want others to know about our collaboration?" Caleb placed both hands in his pockets, his indifferent gaze coolly fixed on her. Although he was only wearing a hospital gown, it couldn’t hide his stunningly handso face.
"What is it?" lody Thorne straightened up.
Caleb leaned down, his handso face stopping just a few centiters from hers, his perfectly smooth features carrying a slight pallor, "Co to my ward tonight, I have sothing to give you."
"What is it?"
"You’ll know when you co," Caleb turned and left.
lody Thorne "...".
She waited until he had walked away before leaving the stairwell with the lunch box in her arms, heading to Mr. Quinn’s ward.
In the ward, she walked in, expecting the man to have already left, but there he was, sitting with his legs crossed on the sofa, arrogantly and lazily leaning against it, one hand resting casually. The luxurious watch on his wrist occasionally flashed a sharp glint.
That gaze had been following her like a shadow the entire ti.
lody Thorne acted as if he wasn’t there, placing the lunch box on the cabinet beside her, opening it, and preparing so soup to feed the old man, "Grandpa, it’s ti to eat."
Mr. Quinn wasn’t in any serious condition and was a proud man; being fed was definitely not his style, "I can eat myself, you should eat too."
lody Thorne lowered her head to look at the rice bowl, just about to start eating, when the man sitting on the sofa approached and stood beside her, the implication clear, eat!
"I already ate at ho with Timmy, I brought this for you," lody Thorne silently placed the bowl back on the table.
In front of Mr. Quinn, she would never admit that she hadn’t brought food for Jared Quinn; she had assud he was gone.
Jared Quinn’s gaze fell on her, a smile slightly fake in her eyes, deeply penetrating and full of hidden significance.
She had clearly already completely excluded him!
lody Thorne felt a little numb under his gaze, looked up, and in that instant, collided with a pair of deep, complex eyes, lacking their usual coldness. Like a pitch-black night sky hiding a thousand brilliant stars.
Incomprehensible, unfathomable.
Yet, it was irresistibly tempting to try and see the splendid world within.
His kind of gaze was extrely rare, and just when lody Thorne was about to discern it clearly, that glow disappeared from Jared Quinn’s eyes, and without saying a word, he left.
He’s not eating?
lody Thorne glanced down at the rice bowl, thinking she shouldn’t have said she already ate earlier; picking it up to eat now would clearly be a lie, wouldn’t it?
After Mr. Quinn finished dinner and read the newspaper, he went to sleep. lody Thorne tucked him in and planned to sleep on the small bed nearby. Just as she lay down, Caleb’s words ca to her mind.
At this late hour, besides a few doctors on duty, there would be no one else around. lody Thorne carefully opened the ward door and walked out.
She crossed the hallway and entered Caleb’s ward.
In the hallway, Ivy originally intended to retrieve her belongings from the hands of a simpleton, but she unexpectedly witnessed this scene.
She saw lody Thorne enter Caleb’s room, and it was in the dead of night!!!
