The voice was neither loud nor soft, but clear enough in the hospital room. Jared’s temple visibly twitched twice, his expression cold and dark. "You don’t care?"
lody Thorne averted her gaze. Jared didn’t know the truth of what happened back then. After her rebirth, she had always wanted to leave him, so she never considered telling him. Even if Ivy had always held that matter over her, did she lose?
"Then can I just kill her or sell her to a bar to work as a hostess?" lody spoke out.
"This..." Timothy Lockwood also looked towards Jared.
"Spare her life," Jared said indifferently, turning to look at the petite woman sitting on the bed. "You’re not suited for anything too bloody."
"In the end, you still want to protect her," lody snorted coldly, leaning against the head of the bed. "Where are my clothes? I need to change."
Of course, she wouldn’t really want Ivy’s life; she felt her hands would be dirty if she did.
"Stay here tonight," Jared said.
"Then you can leave," lody pulled the quilt over her head,
Everything is a lie. The man who just said he loved her is now protecting another woman.
Jared pressed his lips together and stood there. A few years ago, Ivy saved him, so he promised the Adler Family that no matter what happened in the future, he would ensure Ivy’s safety,
"Don’t you know the best way to tornt an enemy is to make her wish she were dead while living a life of regret?" He pulled the quilt off her head.
"Then can I make her a blind or crippled person?" lody asked irritably.
Jared was silent for a few seconds. "Do as you like, but if it’s too bloody, leave it to Timothy to handle."
Timothy: "..."
"Hypocrite," lody sneered coldly.
"What do you want?" Jared, in his lifeti, had never used more patience than he did with lody Thorne.
"Nothing."
Jared: "..."
"lody~"
Outside the hospital room, Dr. Mo walked in carrying Timmy.
"Timmy," lody imdiately got up from the bed, her expression worried yet excited, a stark contrast to her reaction towards Jared earlier. "Are you hurt anywhere?"
lody took Timmy from Dr. Mo’s arms, checking him over.
"I’m fine," Timmy said, clinging to lody, his small face showing so anger. "That nasty old witch said you were hit by a car, tricked out, and even put to sleep. Did I cause you trouble?"
"No, little dummy, see? I’m okay," lody moved a bit.
"But Dr. Mo said you jumped into the river to save , lody, do you think I’m not good? Will you not want anymore?" Timmy asked nervously, just waking up.
"Silly boy, how could that be?" lody pinched Timmy’s small face. "No matter where you are, or even if you fall into the hands of bad people, don’t be afraid. I’m here, and I’ll save you."
lody thought he was scared and spoke to comfort him.
"But I just dreamt that you left. You said my dad was bad to you, so you left too," Timmy said fearfully, hugging lody tightly.
He hated the villa without lody. His dad was cold, the villa was cold, only where lody was seed warm.
He had gotten used to having lody around.
"No way. No matter what happens in the future, wherever you are, I’ll be there. If I ever leave, I’ll take you with . If you dreamt that I left, that’s because you woke up. If you continued to sleep, you’d definitely dream of coming back for you."
