lody Thorne covered herself back in the blankets again. She knew Timmy wasn’t reliable. The ward was silent.

She stayed under the covers for a while, only hearing the sound of keyboard typing. Jared Quinn did nothing, yet she felt the atmosphere in the ward was particularly oppressive. Getting up, she pushed open the window.

The outside breeze blew in, fresh and comfortable,

but that comfortable feeling only lasted a second or two before the window was closed again, and she was placed back on the bed.
