"You can’t be exposed to the wind right now."
lody Thorne frowned, her small fair oval face showing strong dissatisfaction. "I feel the air here isn’t good. Can’t I open the window?"
"Is it the air that’s not good, or is it the presence of making the air bad?" Jared Quinn stared at her and questioned.
lody didn’t want to argue with him, she tugged at the corner of her mouth. "With you here, the air is the freshest, okay? It’s fragrant and warm, alright?"
It’s actually gloomy and cold, heavy and oppressive.
"Achoo," lody sneezed, feeling a bit cold all over.
"Quibbling," Jared’s large hand opened, revealing a few pills. "Take them."
"No, I’m afraid I’ll die without knowing why." lody leaned against the big bed, looking at him warily.
She looked like Little Red Riding Hood seeing the Big Bad Wolf, full of caution.
"I could take you out with just a finger, no need for dicine," Jared sneered coldly, his heart heavy. Can’t this woman speak to him like she does to Timmy?
In her heart, he’s probably the most irredeemable man.
"Open your mouth," Jared ordered.
lody covered her mouth with both hands. "Don’t you think you’re ddling too much? What does it matter to you whether I take dicine or not?"
Jared grabbed her wrists with one large hand and held her chin with the other, tossing the dicine in, then gave her water.
lody didn’t want to swallow what he fed her, trying to spit it out, but Jared insisted she take it. By the ti the dicine was swallowed, it had already lted in her mouth—Jared had ended up swallowing half of it at least.
"Immature."
lody had swallowed too hastily, feeling it stuck in her throat, her face imdiately uncomfortable, as she covered her throat.
"It’s stuck." Jared handed her a nearby glass of water, patting her back. "How narrow is your throat?"
Even swallowing dicine gets stuck.
lody drank a whole glass of water before the dicine went down, angry, "You’re not taking care of ; you’re trying to murder ."
A trace of stiffness flashed across Jared’s sharp-featured face. It’s his first ti taking care of a woman, and he doesn’t even know where to start. "It’ll get better in a few days."
What does ’it’ll get better in a few days’ an? lody’s heart skipped a beat, but she quickly suppressed it.
Jared ans her illness will get better in a few days, not that he’ll get used to taking care of her in a few days.
lody’s gaze darted around, noticing it was already ten at night. She thought she might as well sleep. An evening spent with Jared would pass quickly with one closing and opening of her eyes.
Thinking this, lody pulled the quilt up over her head.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, she heard the sound of a belt being unbuckled by her ear and her whole body stiffened. Next, she felt clothes being tossed onto the quilt on her bed one by one.
The room’s lights suddenly went out, and the quilt over her head was pulled back as Jared climbed in, pulling her into his arms.
lody’s face was pressed against the man’s bare chest, feeling like she’d entered a furnace.
"Jared Quinn, don’t go too far," lody’s hand touched him and quickly withdrew.
At Quinn Villa, they also slept in the sa bed every day, but Jared wore pajamas and never hugged her. This ti was different, he held her without wearing any clothes.
