"Let Leon Rivers visit the hospital tomorrow," Jared Quinn suddenly agreed.
"Really?" lody Thorne looked at him skeptically.
"If you keep looking at with that suspicious expression, you’ll pay for it later!" Jared Quinn warned viciously.
"Got it, got it," lody Thorne lifted the corners of her lips and leaned up to kiss Jared Quinn’s cheek.
As she turned, Jared Quinn pressed lightly against her, as if he were entirely at her rcy, feeling the heat rising with no way to extinguish it, while lody Thorne remained completely at ease.
"You feel awful now, don’t you?" lody Thorne playfully extended her small hand, feeling quite pleased with her own moral standing at the mont.
Jared Quinn tightened his lips; having her was better than having nowhere to dampen the flas.
...
The scene at the dining table almost blinded the housekeeper: the two who were in a cold war just yesterday were reconciled today like nothing happened. Especially his young master’s considerate deanor couldn’t be overlooked.
Originally sitting happily at the table eating, Wendy Lynch had already bowed her head, not glancing at them at all.
"When are we going? I’m already full," lody Thorne let out a satisfied belch. Not only was she full, she was stuffed.
Jared Quinn elegantly put down his chopsticks and looked at her seriously. "I’ll have Leon Rivers go over later, but don’t see Hans Montrose these days."
"Why? Didn’t we agree last night? If Leon Rivers goes, I definitely have to go too and check on things," lody Thorne objected, feeling Jared Quinn was setting another trap for her.
Despite her arm nearly getting broken last night, he’s now acting like he doesn’t know her.
"If you go, then Leon Rivers doesn’t go. You choose one," Jared Quinn tapped his fingers on the table, making it clear that if she went, Leon couldn’t.
They stared at each other, the tension in the air almost igniting sparks in the living room. The housekeeper hurriedly intervened to smooth things over, "Madam, Doctor Leon is one of the top doctors at ho and abroad. If he goes, it’s definitely not an issue. After he examines, he’ll surely report to the young master, so following the young master today will ensure you know the results."
Hearing this, Jared Quinn nodded in agreent; indeed, the old foxes are the sly ones.
Hans Montrose only has a month. Now that Jared Quinn had agreed, lody Thorne naturally wouldn’t let him cancel.
"Alright then."
With her response, Jared Quinn picked up his phone and called Leon Rivers, instructing him to visit Hans Montrose at the hospital.
"Let’s go," Jared Quinn stood up.
"Oh," Wendy Lynch quickly put down her chopsticks, only to realize Jared Quinn wasn’t addressing her. Instead, in high spirits, he lifted lody Thorne from her seat and walked out.
lody Thorne kicked her legs discontentedly, making as much of a scene as possible.
Wendy Lynch lowered her head, suppressing her emotions, and hurried after them, "Cousin, sister-in-law, wait for ."
At the office, lody Thorne was anxious, not having received any news from Leon Rivers, unable to sit or stand still.
"Doesn’t your hand hurt anymore?" Jared Quinn’s gaze moved away from the files he’d been reviewing.
"It hurts, how could it not," lody Thorne imdiately hid her hand behind her back, lightly kicking Jared Quinn’s desk. "Call Leon Rivers now and ask if he has any results yet?"
Jared Quinn put down the files, pointing to the sofa nearby. "Sit there and rest for a while. I guarantee a result will co in less than half an hour."
"Really?"
"Do you think Leon Rivers is an incompetent doctor? On a matter where other doctors find it impossible to make a move, he examines every single cell of the body, so how could anything escape his notice?"
Jared Quinn’s words seed flawless, yet sothing about them didn’t sit right.
