"lody, drink so more broth. When I arrived, your grandfather specifically instructed to watch you finish this entire bowl," Mrs. Quinn said joyfully, eyeing her belly. "It’s almost over two months, isn’t it? The Quinn Family lacks nothing, and you don’t need to earn money. We won, the first thing to do is to nourish the baby, you hear?"
lody Thorne exchanged glances with the man next to her, feeling stuffed since Mrs. Quinn’s arrival, and she couldn’t drink more than half of the soup.
"Alright, let’s wait a bit before drinking more," Jared Quinn chid in, taking the soup from her hands.
"What do you know, lody is not alone now. What if it’s another son? How can we not make sure they’re plump and healthy?" Mrs. Quinn reproachfully glanced at her son, "Make sure you take good care of lody, do you understand?"
"Mm," Jared Quinn responded, truly wanting to stop all his work to accompany lody Thorne.
But the company had been extrely busy lately.
"Cousin, sister-in-law," Wendy Lynch entered from outside the hotel. "Isn’t it inconvenient for you to stay in a hotel, sister-in-law? Let’s go ho together later."
lody Thorne looked up at Wendy Lynch, recalling Yulia O’Connell’s words, but Wendy’s eyes were clear, not the type to harbor any thoughts about Jared Quinn.
"Wendy is right, there’s no need to fixate on the hotel, let’s go ho later."
lody Thorne lowered her head, giving Jared Quinn another pointed look.
"It’s okay, if she wants to stay at the hotel, she can. I’m here with her, nothing will happen," Jared Quinn stood by lody Thorne, deflecting the suggestion.
"Ha," Mrs. Quinn chuckled at their harmonious banter. "So, it seems having a wife is all that matters now, isn’t it? Whatever mom says doesn’t matter, right? Fine, you two handle your own affairs as long as you don’t harm my little grandchild."
"It might not be a grandson; it could very well be a daughter," Jared Quinn spoke, gazing at lody Thorne with an unyielding softness. "I like daughters."
Preferably one like lody Thorne.
"I like daughters too," lody Thorne quickly agreed.
They already had Timmy as a son; it would be ideal if this one is a daughter, then she’d be a true-life winner.
"It’s your child, and it’s your decision," Mrs. Quinn stood up. "I’ve delivered the soup, so I’ll be heading back now."
"I’ll see you out," Wendy Lynch offered attentively.
"Alright."
Once out of the room, Mrs. Quinn’s gaze fell on Wendy Lynch. "Wendy, you’re not getting any younger. It’s ti you found a boyfriend and got married."
