Wendy Lynch lowered her head, her hands tightly clasped together. "Auntie, there’s no rush with this. I want to intern at my cousin’s company first and look for a boyfriend once I’m more settled."
"Oh, you silly kid, you’re already in your twenties. How can you not be in a hurry? Auntie knows you’re a good girl. Did you see those n around your cousin? None of them are bad, and all of them are single. If you like anyone, just tell your cousin."
"Alright, Auntie, the elevator’s here, let’s go down."
"Okay."
"Wait, let us go down first before you all do." Rochelle Thorne stopped the elevator, nearly bumping into Mrs. Qin beside her.
"What’s the matter with you?" Mrs. Qin’s face looked displeased.
"What do you an, what’s the matter?" Rochelle sneered. "Didn’t you see my godmother needs the elevator? You all wait for the next one."
"You, where did this wild girl co from?" Mrs. Qin’s anger suddenly spiked. No one had ever dared to provoke her in her life.
"Rochelle, don’t be like that," Sila followed Rochelle out.
Hearing the familiar voice, Mrs. Qin suddenly turned around, her heart skipping a beat. When her eyes t Sila’s, her pupils constricted sharply.
Sila’s gaze had already cooled down upon seeing Mrs. Qin. "It’s you?"
"No, no, it’s not . You’ve got the wrong person, it’s not ," Mrs. Qin clutched her handbag, trembling uncontrollably. Her face turned pale as she retreated, as if she had seen a ghost.
"Auntie, what’s wrong? Auntie?" Wendy sensed sothing amiss. Just as she was about to ask, Mrs. Qin bolted towards the staircase.
Wendy wasn’t stupid. Knowing Mrs. Qin’s usually domineering nature, there must be sothing wrong.
"Do you know my aunt?" Wendy turned back.
She had investigated all of Sila’s background, including her ti abroad, so she shouldn’t know anyone here.
"It’s more than just knowing her. There’s an old score I haven’t settled with her yet!" Sila squinted, watching the woman from back then flee in panic. Did she think she could escape tomorrow if she got away today?
A hint of a smile flashed across Wendy’s face, but she quickly concealed it. "Sorry, I don’t know what my aunt did, but if she did sothing wrong, I apologize on her behalf. I’m Wendy Lynch, and that was my aunt. Nice to et you."
Sila’s gaze fell on Wendy. After watching today’s online PK battle, she had seen both Wendy and lody Thorne’s styles—at first glance, Wendy was the one she liked.
However, lody Thorne was not favored by Rochelle, while Wendy was considered a semi-professional, soone she had expectations for.
"You’re Wendy Lynch?" Rochelle stepped out of the elevator, scrutinizing her. "I’ve already recomnded you to my mom. Compete earnestly with lody Thorne. If she loses, I guarantee you’ll get the endorsent from my mom."
"Rochelle," Sila interrupted her, "I’ll consider this matter."
Of course, Sila wouldn’t gamble with the brand she had painstakingly established.
"Don’t worry, and thank you, Miss Rochelle, for the acknowledgnt. I’ll try my best to beat lody Thorne," Wendy smiled lightly, though the smile didn’t reach her eyes. She was more intrigued by Mrs. Qin’s panicked escape.
There must be so leverage to subdue her.
