Denzel remained silent, a look of surprise lingering on his face as he gazed at Sophia.
Sophia paused.
To her own surprise, she didn’t feel the need to avert her eyes this ti. Instead, she held his gaze, staring directly into his eyes.
Then, slowly, a faint smile ford on her lips, and the uncertainty in her eyes seed to fade, replaced by a newfound clarity.
"It’s really nothing..." she said softly.
"Truth is I just went out a few days ago and saw sothing that I thought you’d really like."
Denzel blinked.
"And what exactly do you think I’d like?"
"Well..." Sophia hesitated, her smile turning slightly awkward.
"It’s a little silly."
She glanced away for a mont before continuing.
"There was this really beautiful necklace."
A nostalgic look crossed her face.
"It was expensive. Really expensive. I saw it while passing by one of the local market and honestly I thought it would look perfect on you."
She let out a small laugh before shaking her head.
"I wanted to buy it for you. I wanted to keep it as a surprise."
Her gaze lowered toward the floor.
"But for that, I needed money. Quite a lot of it. So I figured I’d work and slowly save up enough."
She paused before continuing.
"And since you helped back then when you got new clothes"
A warm smile appeared on her face.
"I thought this could be my way of repaying my lovely brother."
When she finished speaking, she closed her eyes for a brief mont, taking a sigh before she stared over at Denzel who still obeserved her closely
"What?"
Denzel shook his head.
"It’s nothing."
He rubbed the back of his neck.
"I’m just surprised that you’d actually go this far to make it up to . You know, if you really wanted to repay , there were plenty of other ways you could’ve done it without stressing yourself out this much."
"Maybe."
Sophia smiled.
"But I insist"
Before Denzel could respond, she stepped forward and gently placed a hand beneath his chin. Her eyes t his as she smiled warmly.
"I just want to make my big bro happy."
For a mont, the world seed to fall silent. Then she added quietly,
"Is that really so strange?"
A hint of embarrassnt flashed across her face.
"I would’ve preferred to keep it a surprise, but I could tell I was making you worry."
Her fingers slowly slipped away from his chin.
"So I just wanted to take that worry away."
Silence followed.
Denzel’s gaze remained fixated at her, instantly, he didn’t even need anyone to tell him.
’This bitch is lying to .’
The thought ca without hesitation.
’But I do wonder why. Why, of all things, would she choose to start lying to now?’
Despite the thought, Denzel simply smiled back at her.
"Okay. I guess I was getting worked up over nothing." he said.
Sophia shook her head lightly.
"It’s not like that. Just calm down, bro."
As she spoke, she gently cupped his chin.
"Everything is going to be fine. I’ll get you what you need, I promise. Everything will work out."
Her cheerful smile never faltered.
A mont later, she leaned forward and gave him a kiss.
When she finally pulled away, her eyes remained fixed lovingly on his.
"You should get so rest...don’t worry, you can keep your own secret till you’re ready to talk to ....till then, I’ll leave you be. But if you need anything, just call . I’ll be there."
Denzel smiled and nodded.
She leaned in, locking her lips onto his so shalessly as though he wasn’t truly her brother.
After a short while, she finally pulled out from their deep smooch and then she headed out.
Just before leaving, she paused.
Turning back, she cast him one last glance over her shoulder, a warm smile on her face.
Then the door clicked shut behind her.
Silence filled the room.
Denzel continued staring at the closed door for several seconds before lowering his gaze to his palm.
’Now I’m absolutely sure sothing isn’t right.’
His expression darkened.
’First, there’s the missing mory, now Sophia is acting strangely... and then the woman who’s purposely ran from ...’
He frowned.
’There’s definitely more going on in this life than I realize. I need to stay alert before I get blindsided by whatever’s coming.’
He leaned back and let out a quiet sigh.
’And it’s not like that’s my only problem. I would’ve preferred if this whole thing with Patrick happened much later, cause right now I’ve got way too much on my plate.’
He rubbed his forehead, a hint of frustration in him.
’Still, complaining won’t solve anything.’
’It never does. So, I need to figure out a way to beat that punk-ass. And after that, I need to find out exactly what’s going on with Sophia.’
His eyes narrowed slightly.
’Maybe if I keep stalking her, she’ll eventually lead to sothing, right?’
’Well, the best thing to do is definitely to put Sophia aside now and just focus on preparing for my duel with Patrick.’
’It won’t be easy. I saw how overwhelming he was... In truth, I’m actually surprised his attack didn’t kill .’
He frowned slightly.
’Nevertheless, if I’m gonna defeat him, I’ll need to plan more carefully.’
He exhaled slowly.
’So starting tomorrow, I’ll push myself harder. Proper training begins.’
"Five days, huh? These five days will determine how difficult it will be to take down Patrick... and how hard it’ll be to uncover what’s happening with Sophia.’
He gave a small nod to himself.
’One problem at a ti. Step by step.’
’But for now... after everything, the sex and the battle I need rest.’
The night slowly passed, and before long, Denzel drifted into sleep.
Soon, morning arrived.
***
The day began like any other.
Denzel lay on his bed, still asleep.
Then, a slight movent beside him stirred him awake.
His eyes slowly flickered open.
The first thing he saw was a flushed face hovering above him and beneth it was a plush set of huge exposed cleavage.
As his vision began to clear a bit, instantly, he recognized her.
"Mom?" Denzel muttered.
It was none other than Maria, horny and wet who crawled onto the bed with him, her cheeks faintly red, a small smile playing on her lips.
"D-Dear son" She stuttered, her cheeks reddening the more.
Before he could say anything further, she leaned in without hesitation.
And pressed her lips against his in a deep, lingering kiss.
