Chapter 292
Swooosh—!
Chloe imdiately bent her head down in the nick of ti as a jagged scythe rushed past, violently displacing the air directly above her scalp.
She gulped loudly at how incredibly close she had just been to losing her precious head.
’Too close. Too fast. Damn!’
Slamming her hands downward toward the earth, her telekinetic ability activated with a surge, rocketing her body forward at an accelerated pace.
She quickly weaved in between two small, rocky hills, but the monster behind her just smashed right through the stone structures like they were nothing but brittle clay.
’Seriously? Is that how hungry you are?’
Luckily, she could now see the specific hill they had been hiding behind coming closer to her view at an imnse rate.
’Almost there.’
Wanting to see if the creature was still hot on her heels, she turned her head around for a brief split second.
Big mistake!
A massive scythe was now looming terribly close upon her head with frightening speed.
There was absolutely no way she would be able to dodge or completely avoid the trajectory in ti.
She could see the ambush hill right there, but she knew the others wouldn’t be able to initiate the plan until the target was pulled directly into the kill zone.
She couldn’t fail them now that they were so close to executing the ambush.
No! She absolutely couldn’t do that.
Without a second thought, she imdiately gripped her bow much tighter and swung the weapon with all her might toward the incoming scythe.
Clang!
The two weapons struck with such imnse force that Chloe’s entire skeletal fra rattled in intense pain from the shockwave of the collision.
She gritted her teeth in desperation, seeing that small cracks were beginning to spiderweb around the limbs of her bow.
Using every ounce of her remaining willpower, she forced her weight into the motion to parry the scythe to the side, sending the heavy limb crashing harmlessly down into the dirt.
’My bow.’
She almost cried inwardly at the damage, but there was absolutely no ti for sentintality right now, hence she spun around and continued running away as fast as her legs could carry her.
The Earth Shaker was now completely furious.
It violently yanked its scythe out from the ground and imdiately bolted toward her with renewed anger.
Fortunately, Chloe had managed to gain a slight head start from the parry, and with a powerful, desperate leap, she disappeared safely behind the small hill.
In its blind rage, the beast hadn’t noticed any danger as it continued running forward with all its might.
Suddenly, Chloe thrust her hands back toward the path, and imdiately, a heavy wire hidden on the ground was drawn taut instantly.
The Earth Shaker’s front legs collided heavily with the trap, and it plumted face-first into the earth.
Its sharp horn dug a deep hole straight into the ground, kicking up a small, thick cloud of dust.
It lay there, dazed and montarily confused.
And in that brief state of confusion, sothing else was felt wrapping around its lower body with astonishing speed.
Glancing down, the King-rank beast could see a glowing, golden lasso tightly rolling around all its lower limbs, excluding its main scythe arms, therefore locking its massive weight firmly in place.
It was at that exact sa ti that two figures leaped out from their hiding spot.
With a powerful kick to the air to boost her montum, Trisha bolted toward the fallen beast on the ground, her blade lashing toward its neck with deadly speed.
Though the monster was tied down and stunned, the restraint didn’t completely stop it from reacting in ti.
Unfortunately for the humans, its dangerous scythe arms were still entirely free, and it wasted no ti in swinging the appendage toward the human airborne target.
Thrusting her hand out, Trisha was imdiately aided by Chloe’s telekinetic ability, allowing her to spin smoothly in mid-air while slamming her heavy sword against the arm the hooked-teeth scythe was connected to.
Her arms trembled violently from the sheer physical strength the titan possessed, but she was successfully able to parry the entire arm away from her trajectory.
Then, landing firmly on the dirt directly in front of the beast, she swung her left hand forward.
From her palm, a dozen sharp ice spikes shot directly toward the monster’s face.
Unfortunately, before the freezing projectiles could land, a small earth wall rose abruptly in place, absorbing the impact from the spikes with a series of low thuds.
But then,
Ray twisted his hip with his feet contorted around, right fist drawn back like a coiled spring, left arm cutting through the wind to balance.
And then with a resounding bang, he smashed his fist into the earth wall.
Cracks appeared on the surface of the wall for a few seconds, but it held.
Ray wasn’t giving up.
In that sa breath, he hamred his second fist into the wall, and the cracks deepened and spread.
Another punch later, the whole thing crumbled to pieces.
Only for him to see a scythe shooting towards him like an arrow.
[Halo of Protection Activated]
A spherical barrier of light imdiately appeared all around him as the scythe slamd into it with trendous strength, so much so that even the boy was sent sliding backward for a few inches.
Cracks appeared along the surface of the barrier while Ray watched as his energy bar dwindled at an astonishing rate.
Quickly dispelling the skill, he watched as Trisha threw her sword into the air for a mont, then pounced forward with all her speed.
Closing the distance between her and the beast, she watched as another scythe rushed towards her, but with a violent wrench of her body around, the appendage missed her face.
Too close for comfort.
Frost could be seen creeping in between her fingers as she appeared before the beast, who imdiately thrust its horn towards her.
With a fluid sidestep, the girl vaulted into the air, and at that exact mont, an ice hamr materialized in her hand.
Cocking her arm above her head, she hurled the hamr back down with her entire force.
WAM!
The ice shattered completely against the beast’s head without leaving as much as a scratch.
Suddenly, earth spikes from the ground shot towards her with blinding speed.
Ray’s gaze sharpened at this.
He bent slightly at the knees, muscles coiling tight, then released like a spring unbound, launching into the air with explosive grace.
Within a second, he yanked the girl backward by the waist, then swung his hands forward, unleashing a dozen jagged obsidian slashes that struck each of the spikes and veered them off course.
Landing back down, he unhanded Trisha and then turned towards his system for a brief mont.
[Thunder Step Activated]
BANG!
His form blurred into a streak of blue; lightning laced his feet, crackling with raw intensity.
[Sparkshot Activated]
Lightning began arcing around his hands as he closed the distance between him and the beast within the blink of an eye, and he wasted no ti in kicking into the air, sending two consecutive strikes of electricity flying straight towards the pinned beast.
