Riven’s POV:
“What the hell are you doing here? How’s Vera?” I asked in a muddled tone.
“What happened to mom?” Caleb asked with confused expressions.
“What is wrong with Vera? What are you saying, Riven? Caleb just ca here to deliver the file on father’s order”, Kevin replied while looking at , baffled.
“Yeah”, Caleb nodded in agreent.
“Didn’t you call Stefan and tell him that Vera had a heart attack, and you and father are taking her to the Dark Sapphire hospital?” I asked in an investigative tone.
“Nope, I didn’t do anything like that. Father instructed to give this file to Kevin. Hence, I ca here. Last ti, I had a conversation with Stefan, when we were having breakfast at our ho. Giselle has only called once since you three went to the lake house. That’s it! I don’t know anything after that!” Caleb spoke in a muddled tone.
Only by looking at his innocent expression, I could tell he was not lying and literally had no idea about this.
“If you are here and you didn’t call, then who the hell called Stefan and called him back?” I asked while closing my hand and, grabbing a fistful of my hair and pulling it out of frustration.
I felt an arm on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to see Kevin standing in front of with a concerned expression.
“Riven! Calm down and tell us what happened!” Kevin said in a concerned tone.
“Brother, Stefan just called and told that Caleb had called him and inford him that Vera had a heart attack. Stefan said, Caleb and father were taking her to our hospital. He and Giselle have already left the lake house to reach the hospital. They were in the car when he called.” I inford them while covering my face with the palm of my hand.
“What? Trust , brothers, I didn’t call Stefan since he left for lake house, brothers. I am not lying!” Caleb pleaded in a low voice.
“Then who called him from your phone?” I asked in an agitated tone while pointing an accusing finger at Caleb.
“I don’t know”, Caleb replied in his defense, and unknowingly took a step back when I accidently released my Alpha aura in anger.
“We trust you, Caleb. Don’t worry. There must be a misunderstanding here”, Kevin said with a small smile, and stood between and Caleb before pushing away.
“What misunderstanding, Kevin! Stefan is not stupid! If soone else calls him from Caleb’s phone, he will be able to tell if it’s Caleb or not but....” I shouted in rage while speaking, but sothing crossed my brain and I closed my eyes again.
“But what?” Kevin asked in confusion.
Soone called Stefan and talked to him in Caleb’s voice? Is it really what I am thinking? Are they back?
I soon realized that I unknowingly used my aura on Caleb, and Kevin was standing between us to shield and protect Caleb from my own aura.
“Sorry, Caleb. I didn’t an to use my aura on you or scare you. I was just tensed” I said in an apologetic tone.
“It’s okay, brother. I know you didn’t do it on purpose”, Caleb replied in an understanding tone.
“Can we continue where we left? ‘But what?’ You were saying sothing, Riven” Kevin asked in a curious tone.
“Nothing, I need to go first” I said in a plain tone while moving towards the door.
Kevin grabbed my hand and imdiately stopped from moving.
“Where?” Kevin and Caleb asked in unison.
“I am going to save Stefan and Giselle. I have a feeling sothing extrely wrong is going to happen”, I replied in a serious tone.
I can’t lie to them. I have a gut feeling that sothing is not right. Everything that happened in those last eight hours was all part of it. Now that I think of it, every piece is falling into place.
“If you think that way, I will co with you”, Kevin said in a sincere tone.
“No, this project is father’s dream. Only you can tackle this deal. Amongst all of us, father only trust you with this project. I will go and protect our mate and our brother. I have a strong feeling that sothing terribly wrong is going to happen and it includes our very old enemies!” was my serious reply, which widened their eyes.
“WHAT?”
