Jian Shisan retracted his aura and headed down below the Holy Land. The Silver Armor had agreed, but hadn’t opened the door.
So, Jian Shisan had no choice but to go himself. If he couldn’t open it, he wouldn’t be able to rescue Yue Xi.
Su Qi asked, "Should we follow them and take a look?"
Jingyue said, "Definitely. I have the authority. I’ll take you inside."
Jingyue then led Su Qi and Jiang Zuo to the area beneath the Holy Land. It was pitch-black, so Jiang Zuo subconsciously summoned a Fire Elent.
The Fire Elental Minion was incredibly honored to be able to shine and provide warmth for its master.
So the resulting firelight was exceptionally bright.
Jingyue looked at Jiang Zuo and said, "Brother-in-law, I take it you’re worried they *won’t* notice us?"
Su Qi retorted, "With Martial Uncle’s and Master’s Cultivation, what difference does it make whether we light a fire? They’ll definitely discover us either way, so we might as well have so light."
"Right, go on and defend your husband. Just don’t co crying to when you get thrashed later," Jingyue said snappishly.
Jiang Zuo was speechless. ’Jian Shisan is going to thrash us?’
’As if.’
’Although I don’t know Yue Xi’s personality well, based on my years of experience, I doubt there’ll be any thrashing today.’
Just then, Jiang Zuo saw Jian Shisan walk toward Yue Xi’s "little black room."
When Xuanwu saw Jian Shisan, it put its things away. Their earlier conversation had already reached this place.
"I suppose you do have so conscience left as a senior martial brother." After speaking, it moved aside, as Jian Shisan was here to open the little black room.
Xuanwu certainly wasn’t going to use its trump card to open the little black room; doing so would obliterate Yue Xi along with it.
It wasn’t an idiot, after all.
At that mont, Jian Shisan touched the little black room, and it began to disintegrate, layer by layer.
He did it effortlessly, leaving Xuanwu dumbfounded.
’That’s all it took?’
Jingyue and Su Qi were also stunned.
’Hmph. It’s just the Dharma Gate for breaking a certain Array,’ Jiang Zuo thought with disdain. ’If it were , I could have walked right in, brought her out, and ignored all the obstacles completely.’
’What’s so amazing about a cheap trick like that?’

Just then, Jian Shisan walked up to Yue Xi. The domineering aura around him vanished completely. "Ju... Junior Sister," he stamred. "I... I have offended you."
As he spoke, Jian Shisan reached out and tapped Yue Xi on the forehead.
Instantly, all the restraints vanished. The next mont, Yue Xi leaped up, stretched, and exclaid, "Whoa, I can finally talk! I was about to go crazy holding it all in!"
Yue Xi then turned to Jian Shisan and said, "Thanks, Senior Brother. Was there sothing you needed? If not, I’m leaving."
Jian Shisan imdiately replied, "N-no, nothing. Pl-please, Junior Sister, do as you wish."
Yue Xi gave a casual "Oh," and then prepared to leave with Xuanwu.
She walked very slowly, however.
Jiang Zuo stared at Jian Shisan, completely dumbfounded. ’This guy is a Daoist, but it’s no wonder he can’t win over Yue Xi.’
’His ga is just terrible, isn’t it?’
’When I was pursuing Su Qi, I was several tis smoother than this.’
’Sure, I relied mostly on luck, but at least I had the guts to speak my mind and make a move.’
’What is Jian Shisan even doing?’
’Is this so kind of nerd’s fear of romance?’
’I really want to give him a few pointers,’ Jiang Zuo thought, feeling that familiar frustration of watching soone with great potential fall short.
’To think a guy as powerful as Jian Shisan would just lose all that domineering aura and start stuttering.’
Jingyue also asked curiously, "What’s wrong with Martial Uncle? Does he have a stutter? He didn’t this morning."
Su Qi said, "I think he’s just nervous."
"Did your husband stutter when he was pursuing you?"
"Not at all."
"Then does that an Martial Uncle isn’t being sincere? Or maybe your husband wasn’t sincere back then. For instance, maybe at the ti he was only interested in your looks, not your personality.
Like that saying, ’all physical, no feelings’?" Jingyue analyzed with a straight face.
Behind them, Jiang Zuo’s face darkened. ’I feel the need to shut this woman up first.’
’’All physical, no feelings’? We were just kids back then, what would we have known about any of that?’
Su Qi opened her mouth and made a playful biting gesture. "Senior Sister, watch out, or I’ll bite you."
Jingyue wasn’t bothered. She usually just said whatever ca to mind; half the ti, she didn’t even believe her own words.
She soothed Su Qi, saying, "Alright, don’t worry about it. Look, sothing’s happening."
’There really is a new developnt. Otherwise, I would’ve summoned all my Fire Elental Minions to teach this Sister Jingjing a lesson on how to behave.’
Just then, Jian Shisan seed to rember sothing and called out, "W-wait."
Yue Xi stopped abruptly, as if she had been waiting for him to call out all along.
She then turned around with a casual look on her face. "Is sothing the matter, Senior Brother?"
Jian Shisan looked at Yue Xi and said, "I-it-it’s like this... I... I heard..."
In the end, Jian Shisan gave up trying to explain. He simply held out his hand, and a boundless aura condensed into a bead in his palm.
"This... this is a manifestation of my Dao. Take it. It... it will let ... sense... sense if you’re in danger.
It c-can pro-protect you."
Listening to Jian Shisan, Jiang Zuo looked pained, as did Jingyue and Su Qi.
Their Martial Uncle wasn’t normally a stutterer.
But they were watching the scene unfold with great enthusiasm.
They were eager to see how their master would respond.
Of course, Jingyue and Su Qi hoped their master would accept it, because this was all incredibly amusing.
Yue Xi stared at the bead, silent for a long while.
Seeing her silence, Jian Shisan began to panic.
He imdiately tried to explain, "I-I-I didn’t an anything else by it."
His voice trailed off, sounding small and bitter.
Just then, Yue Xi finally spoke, a hint of exasperation in her voice. "I was just wondering how I’m supposed to carry this bead around. Couldn’t you have made it into a bracelet or a necklace, Senior Brother?"
"Huh?" Jian Shisan then said at once, "I c-can."
After a mont’s hesitation, Jian Shisan fashioned his Dao into a bracelet—or perhaps a bangle.
Then Yue Xi added, "It’s so plain. You should carve sothing on it."
Jian Shisan said nothing, but simply carved a sword onto the bangle, running its entire length.
Swords were the main thing he knew, so that was what he carved.
Yue Xi sighed. "I suppose it’ll have to do."
With that, she took the bangle and put it on her wrist. "Anything else, Senior Brother?"
Jian Shisan shook his head. He truly had nothing else to ask. He was deeply satisfied that Yue Xi was willing to wear his protective ward.
This ti, Yue Xi turned to leave again, but she stopped after only two steps. Without turning back, she asked, "Senior Brother, are you leaving again?"
Jian Shisan thought for a mont before answering truthfully, "The Abyss... there’s sothing strange about the Abyss. I... I have to go check on it again."
"How long will you be gone this ti?"
"N-not long. A few months, o-or maybe less."
He truly did need to go confirm the situation in the Abyss. It was his duty, or perhaps his responsibility.
Just then, Yue Xi turned around, her smile as radiant as a blossoming flower. "In that case, be safe, and co back soon. Oh, right. Rember to let your injuries heal before you go."
After saying her piece, Yue Xi quickly departed with Xuanwu.
