Chapter 130 - Idiotic Netizens

The broadcast of the 'Zhou Zhou Show' began, without many people noticing.

Aside from the discussions sparked by the promotion on Weibo, other places completely didn't know such a program existed.

Let alone other TV stations, even among the people at Zhaonan TV Station, not many paid attention to it.

The premiere of a program with such low attention was truly silent and without a sound.

Chen Ran had just finished his phone call with Zhang Fanzhi.

These past few days, Zhang Fanzhi spent most of her ti running around outside. She had taken on another jewelry endorsent and was quite busy anyway.

Unlike the last ti she went back with a song, the current Zhang Fanzhi was a singer heavily promoted by Starry Sky.

When she went back with the song, the people at Starry Sky evaluated the song first, and imdiately went to invite a producer. It looked like they were preparing to heavily push this song.

Zhang Fanzhi was currently busy with endorsent matters. After a while, when the arrangent was done, she would start recording.

By then, she would have to start promoting the new song again, and would definitely be even busier.

Chen Ran was already ntally prepared for this, so he wasn't disappointed.

What surprised Chen Ran more was that Starry Sky had actually noticed him. A couple of days ago, they had even sounded out Tao Lin to inquire for information.

Being able to write 'Initial Dream' could be said to be a coincidence, but being able to subsequently write the song 'Courage' was enough to attract Starry Sky's attention.

Tao Lin knew Starry Sky's thoughts; they wanted to rope Chen Ran in and get more songs from his hands.

Although Tao Lin was a company person, she considered things from Zhang Fanzhi's perspective.

She made the excuse that the person who wrote the song was a relative of Zhang Fanzhi, soone working within the governnt system who had never thought of becoming famous by writing songs, and had signed a confidentiality agreent that couldn't be leaked.

The people at Starry Sky weren't stupid; of course, they didn't believe this kind of nonsense.

It was just that if Tao Lin didn't say anything, they had no other way.

The song was only brought over after Zhang Fanzhi returned. Regarding Chen Ran, they only knew the person was in Lin City and was nad Chen Ran.

They knew nothing more than that.

Knowing perfectly well that Tao Lin was being perfunctory, Starry Sky didn't continue to press the question.

There were quite a few people who had written two hit songs; it wasn't worth having a falling out with Zhang Fanzhi over such a person. Starry Sky still had this bit of sense of proportion.

Chen Ran didn't care about this. There were millions of musicians in the music scene; he only had two songs, which wasn't much. Starry Sky naturally wouldn't pursue him relentlessly.

On the TV.

It was almost ten o'clock, and the comrcials had begun counting down.

The 'Zhou Zhou Show' was about to premiere.

Although he had already watched the final cut several tis, and they had even recorded the second episode and prepared the script for the third episode over the past two days, Chen Ran still stared at the TV, waiting for the program to broadcast.

……

Wang Suyun was already in his thirties. Now, every day aside from going to work, he liked to scroll through Weibo, and also liked to voice his opinions on trending topics.

A couple of days ago on the Weibo square, he scrolled past a promotional video for a variety show. Because the host's viewpoint in the promotional clip was different from his, he left a comnt underneath.

Who knew that this would be like poking a hornet's nest; quite a few people started arguing with him.

One of them had particularly fierce wording, as if wanting to debate until Wang Suyun admitted defeat.

Arguing on the internet was basically an unsolvable proposition.

These past two days, Wang Suyun would even go on Weibo to argue with the other party while at work.

But in the end, neither convinced the other. While blocking the other party, he inwardly cursed them as an idiotic keyboard warrior.

When he went on Weibo today, he suddenly rembered that the cause of his argunt with the other party was because of a program called 'Zhou Zhou Show'.

Thursday late-night slot.

At first glance, this ti slot was for a small program. In the promotional clip, there was just one person and one stage, not even a straight man to play off of.

What could be good about it?

But thinking about how he had argued with soone for a few days because of this program, feeling uncomfortable in his heart even when eating and sleeping, Wang Suyun planned to take a look.

If this program was truly terrible, he would definitely go on Weibo and give it a good scolding, and incidentally unblock that guy to take him for a spin.

Carrying such a mindset, he waited until ten o'clock and saw the 'Zhou Zhou Show' broadcast right on ti.

Wang Suyun watched it with a nitpicking and critical eye.

The program was very simple. It picked out trending news and, much like performing a comic cross-talk, the host expressed extrely sharp viewpoints, hitting the nail on the head with every remark.

When encountering news with skewed moral values, he was even filled with mingled anger and indignation, his emotions fluctuating wildly.

Unlike the idiotic program he had imagined, this program actually had depth!

The viewpoints presented were surprisingly upright in their moral values. Even though Wang Suyun had so differing viewpoints from the other party, host Zhou Zhou's emotionally expressive and vivid manner made him feel that what the other party said made so sense.

So much so that arguing with people on Weibo about dicine prices was thrown to the back of his mind, because what Zhou Zhou attacked were so unscrupulous pharmaceutical rchants, rather than making a sweeping generalization!

When Wang Suyun usually watched programs, there would always be parts he didn't like. As soon as he encountered them, he would skip the channel, going to other channels to change his mood.

But not today. Instead, he kept staring intently at the TV, watching the program broadcast.

The program wasn't heavy; on the contrary, it was quite relaxing. The punchlines thrown out by the host would always make people smile knowingly.

After Wang Suyun finished watching the program, he still hadn't fully recovered his senses, having a feeling of "Is that it?".

The program looked very crude—just a single host. Moreover, being in the Thursday late-night slot, a ti slot unloved by grandma and uncherished by uncle, it was even sowhat shabby.

But the content was unexpectedly palatable. At the very least, it made him feel that he hadn't watched this program in vain.

After a brief aftertaste, he logged onto Weibo, fluidly wrote a massive review, and posted it directly under the promotional video where he had been arguing.

After Wang Suyun posted it, the webpage refreshed, and he saw that soone had already posted a comnt ahead of him. Moreover, the feeling was roughly the sa as his; it looked exactly like an identical template from a paid internet troll.

"For this program, they still borrowed ghost soldiers?" Wang Suyun was slightly dazed.

For just this small program, was there a need to hire an internet water army?

Upon closer look, he discovered it wasn't so water army, but that idiotic netizen who had been arguing with him over the past two days.

Wang Suyun read the comnt the other party posted again. The other party's viewpoints were highly consistent with his.

The resentnt from mutually flaming each other over the past two days instantly disappeared for the most part. He removed the other party from his blacklist, and simultaneously replied:

"Great minds think alike!"

He, Wang Suyun, was exactly this kind of person who understood profound principles and clearly distinguished between gratitude and grudges.

……

The next day.

The viewership ratings ca out, and everyone in the 'Zhou Zhou Show' program crew was sowhat silent.

The station had provided promotional channels, and their promotion on Weibo had also taken effect.

But the final viewership rating only reached 0.391%.

In the sa ti slot, it ranked 11th.

And the first place in this ti slot was Tomato Satellite TV's 'Magic Cute Babies' at 0.836%.

It looked like the viewership rating wasn't very high, yet it completely crushed the 'Zhou Zhou Show'.

"Everyone cheer up a bit. Our program took over the slot from 'Antiques'. That program's previous viewership ratings could be ignored completely. We can be said to be starting from zero, and we were also very lacking in terms of promotion. Being able to reach this data is already very remarkable; the program can be considered a success!"

Director Wu Tao clapped his hands, comforting everyone.

Zhou Zhou was in a sowhat poor mood. This viewership rating for the program's premiere was indeed a bit unideal.

Admittedly, Director Wu's words made sense, but they didn't produce the program to compete over who was worse. Who wouldn't want the viewership ratings to be a little better?

Instead, it was Chen Ran who, looking at the real-ti viewership curve, had his brows twitch slightly, and slowly said:

"Director Wu is right, the situation isn't as bad as everyone thinks."
