Chapter 92 - Didn't an Anything Else

Director Zhang also realized he had let slip too much and hurriedly said,

"Go inside first, it's cold outside."

Zhang Fanzhi hesitated slightly, took the flowers from Chen Ran's hands, and then stepped aside to let the "uncle and nephew" pair co in.

Director Zhang went in first and gave Chen Ran a thumbs-up behind her back.

The corners of Chen Ran's mouth twitched, but he couldn't quite form a smile.

"Why is he here again?" Seeing Chen Ran, Zhang Ruyi muttered in her heart.

Catching sight of her dad winking and making faces, she knew there was no need to call her over; frowning her delicate brows, she ducked straight into the kitchen on her own.

"I still have so things to do and need to use the computer, I'll go busy myself for a bit."

After saying this, Director Zhang also entered the study.

When Zhang Fanzhi put the flowers away and turned around, she found that only the two of them were left in the living room.

Seeing Chen Ran looking at her, Zhang Fanzhi's expression paused slightly. She walked over, sat on the sofa, and stared unblinkingly at the TV.

Chen Ran felt the atmosphere was a bit strange. He organized his wording and asked softly, "You're leaving tomorrow?"

Zhang Fanzhi didn't look over, just giving an "Mhm."

"This ti you go, you won't be back until the New Year?" Chen Ran asked again.

Zhang Fanzhi originally wanted to just give an "Mhm," but after glancing at Chen Ran, she still said,

"Not necessarily. If I have ti, I'll co back."

Approaching the New Year, because of comrcial performances, there were quite a lot of programs. Being a celebrity naturally ant being very busy.

For example, at the annual eting of Chen Ran's TV station, they would also invite celebrities who were on good terms with the station to participate.

Many of the annual etings for larger companies would invite celebrities to sing.

Chen Ran felt a bit uncomfortable in his heart. He estimated that by the ti Zhang Fanzhi returned, he would have already gone ho for the New Year.

Whether they could et would depend on whether they had ti after the New Year.

Zhang Fanzhi didn't hear Chen Ran speak.

She turned her head to glance at him, and seeing him looking slightly lancholy, she hesitated for a mont and said,

"It's not that long until the New Year now."

Although it was a statent completely out of the blue, Chen Ran understood her aning.

His eyes brightened slightly as he said, "More than twenty days, it's quite long."

Seeing him staring intently at her, Zhang Fanzhi unnaturally tilted her head to the side.

"If you say it's long, then it's long."

Chen Ran breathed a sigh of relief in his heart, knowing that yesterday's matter was considered turned over.

He wasn't stupid enough to bring it up again, but instead asked, "Was Sister Lin calling you yesterday about company matters?"

"No, she got a spot on Jingcheng Satellite TV's Spring Festival Gala; I have to go over in advance to record." Zhang Fanzhi pursed her lips.

"Going on the Spring Festival Gala, huh..."

Chen Ran looked at Zhang Fanzhi sowhat absentmindedly, still feeling it was a bit unreal.

He considered himself to be actually quite ordinary, whether in terms of ability or mindset.

Because he had mories of a past life, he had quite a few advantages over others, but he didn't think he could achieve any earth-shattering great deeds.

As soone who had died once, he knew better how to cherish things. He just thought that living each present day well was enough.

Zhang Fanzhi's appearance was completely an accident. He had never thought that one day he would have such an entanglent with a celebrity.

Already going on the Spring Festival Gala, Starry Sky was now also starting to value Zhang Fanzhi. As her fa grew bigger and bigger, could things still remain the sa as now?

"What are you thinking about?"

Chen Ran snapped back to reality. Zhang Fanzhi was looking at him. He collected his feelings and smiled slightly.

"Not thinking about anything, just feeling happy for you participating in the Spring Festival Gala."

"Happy?"

Zhang Fanzhi raised an eyebrow, unable to see a happy look on his face.

She glanced at the flowers Chen Ran had given her just now, wondering in her heart: did Chen Ran buy the flowers, or did her father make him buy them?

……

During the al today, the atmosphere was obviously different from yesterday.

Aunt Yun had been in the kitchen just now. Now seeing the two reconciled, a smile constantly lingered at the corners of her mouth.

Seeing Chen Ran and Zhang Fanzhi sulking at each other, she and Director Zhang hadn't been worried.

It was only normal for a young couple to sulk. They sulked because they cared, and after making up, their relationship would definitely be even better.

They were both people who had been through it all. Back when they were dating, who didn't make it through arguing and fussing like this?

Aunt Yun knew her own daughter's temperant: a bit strongly independent, cared a lot about saving face, and her temper wasn't too good.

And she was also clear about Chen Ran's temper: amiable, reasonable, knew how to dote on people, and could take care of others' emotions.

This was also one of the reasons why the couple, after understanding Chen Ran well enough back then, had always intended to match the two of them up.

Zhang Ruyi didn't understand these things. Her most direct understanding of Chen Ran was still simply as Chen Yao's older brother.

She could never figure it out: yesterday, Zhang Fanzhi had been keeping a straight face the whole ti, looking so angry that she couldn't even eat.

But a single phone call from Chen Ran was enough to turn her mood around.

Is this what dating is like?

She hadn't received an answer to the questions she asked her sister last night, and she was still quite unhappy about it in her heart.

She planned to seek out Chen Yao and ask around after going back tomorrow.

Just in case Chen Ran had so dark history, she could cool her parents down a bit when the ti ca.

With this posture, they weren't just treating Chen Ran as a son-in-law; they were almost treating him as their own biological son.

After eating, Zhang Fanzhi handed the sheet music to Chen Ran; there were also arranged guitar tabs.

Zhang Fanzhi had heard Zhang Ruyi talk about Chen Yao's situation, and told Chen Ran that Chen Yun, the owner of the Street Corner music bar, was a musician who had her own music studio.

If Chen Yao wanted to record and release this song, she could directly look for Chen Yun.

Chen Ran pinched the sheet music, feeling as if this thing was a bit hot to the touch.

If he had known earlier that it would cause trouble, he wouldn't have chosen this song at all.

Chen Ran exhaled a breath and said to Zhang Fanzhi, "Thank you."

Zhang Fanzhi glanced at him but didn't say anything.

Chen Ran felt a bit awkward.

It was getting late, and it was Zhang Fanzhi who offered to drive Chen Ran ho.

Sitting in the car, Chen Ran once again hesitated over whether to buy a car.

For him, a car was now an absolute necessity; whether it was going to work or going ho, he needed to use one.

At the very least, going to Uncle Zhang's house would be much more convenient.

This originally shouldn't have been sothing to hesitate over, but now he was a bit hesitant again.

Along the way, Zhang Fanzhi focused on driving quietly, as if she was preoccupied with so thoughts.

Because Zhang Fanzhi was leaving tomorrow, Chen Ran's mood wasn't very high either.

Occasionally turning his head to look at Zhang Fanzhi, he could see the streetlights sweeping across her face, her exquisite features lacking much expression.

Chen Ran barely felt the passage of ti before the car stopped.

Looking up, he realized they had already arrived.

He felt puzzled in his heart: how could it be so fast?

"I'll head back first. Tomorrow morning before you board your flight, give a call."

Chen Ran exhaled a breath, shook off the emotions in his heart, and opened the door to get out of the car.

Zhang Fanzhi pursed her lips slightly and suddenly said, "Actually, you don't need to keep it a secret from your mom and dad."

Chen Ran's hand, which was just about to close the car door, paused slightly. His mind was a bit dazed as he turned around and asked,

"What do you..."

Zhang Fanzhi's eyes flickered.

Without looking at Chen Ran, she stared at the windshield and said nonchalantly,

"I'm just afraid your sister won't be able to keep the secret, and your mom and dad will bla you when the ti cos. I didn't an anything else."

Chen Ran felt his heartbeat speed up a bit, and his breathing beca slightly unsmooth.

"Then... then I'll really tell them?"

Zhang Fanzhi slightly furrowed her brows and said calmly, "Up to you."

As soon as her voice fell, she lightly stepped on the gas pedal and drove away.

Inside the car, Zhang Fanzhi's ears were completely red.

After turning a corner and no longer being able to see Chen Ran in the rearview mirror, she finally stepped on the brakes.

Her slender fingers tightly gripped the steering wheel as she let out small puffs of air.
