Chapter 101:

Julie’s Point of Vie

My eyes fell on his open shirt, which revealed his chest and tight bronze muscles, increasing my confusion a confusion I tried to bury behind a mask of anger.

He asked in a tone full of wonder: "What?"

I fixed my gaze on his eyes and clenched my hands tightly, saying:

"I want you to co with to my room."

He didn’t argue; he placed his weapon behind his back with a graceful movent and stepped out of the room.

Before the door closed, I caught a glimpse of that red-haired girl lying semi-naked on the bed, eyeing us with strange and disapproving looks.

As soon as the door closed behind him, he asked coldly:

"Is there a problem?"

I didn’t answer him; instead, I turned and walked ahead of him with long strides, feeling his dominant presence behind following through the silent corridor.

When we arrived, I pushed my room door wide open, and the scene exploded before us; bouquets of roses filled every corner intertwining colors of deep red, mysterious black, and royal purple... there were tulips, jasmine, and rare orchids.

Even though I had seen the sight just monts ago, my breath stumbled from amazent once again.

Carlos entered the room with confident steps and stood in the middle of this artificial garden, then turned to calmly:

"Why did you call here?"

I gestured with a nervous, sweeping motion toward all those flowers:

"I think you should explain to what this is!"

He raised an eyebrow dismissively:

"Explain what?"

"This!"

I shouted, pointing at the roses, then I snatched the paper off the table violently.

I felt the paper rustling between my trembling fingers, and I began to read the words written on it in an audible voice that shook from the intensity of emotion:

"The mind gets lost when it sees you, and worries beco simple when you smile... I hope you like the roses, even though they cannot match your beauty... Carlos ndoza."

His smile widened slowly, turning into explicit cunning, and he leaned his body toward the nearest orchid bouquet, stroking its petals coldly while saying:

"Mmm... is this why you made follow you to the room? Do you want to thank ?"

I felt the blood boiling in my veins, so I said sharply, my body stiffening:

"And why would I thank you? You brought an entire flower shop! In what capacity and on what occasion did you do this?"

He adjusted his stance, his chest muscles bulging under the open shirt while he placed his hand in his pants pocket:

"You’ve beco a personal assistant now... and I’m doing this in my capacity as your friend."

I raised my eyebrows in disapproval and repeated after him sarcastically:

"You are really being my friend?"

Then I waved the paper in his face:

"And what is the point of these words? This is blatant flirting! Are you trying to flirt with , Mr. Carlos?"

He let out a short exhale that resembled a laugh and said in a calm, provocative tone:

"It’s not flirting, Julie... it’s just kind words exchanged between friends."

I took one step toward him, my eyes burning with defiance:

"Really? Do you doubt my intelligence? Do you think I’m stupid?"

He fixed his gaze on my eyes and stepped slightly closer to until I felt his aura imposing itself on the place:

"You are young... and flirting is a subject you aren’t an expert in yet."

I smiled bitterly and said while crossing my arms over my chest:

"I didn’t know you were an expert in everything... I thought you were only an expert in matters of alternative dicine I an, xican dicine."

He was not affected by my sarcasm; instead, his smile grew wider:

"I have experience in all subjects, Julie."

I said, pointing to the paper again:

"You can’t deceive , and you won’t make believe that what is written here isn’t flirting."

Suddenly, the tone of his voice changed, becoming deeper, and he tilted his head slightly to whisper:

"Do you really want to hear real flirting?"

I felt my heart skip a sudden beat, and I swallowed hard while taking a step back:

"No..."

But he didn’t retreat; instead, his eyes shined with a playful glint as he advanced into my private space again:

"I must show you how I truly flirt... so you don’t accuse of flirting with you again."

Carlos lowered his voice until it beca a whisper, approaching my ear like a numbing hiss, and said:

"Your green eyes are a rciless forest... they make lose myself in them, Julie. Your gazes burn and awaken my mad desire."

I felt my body completely stiffen, while his gaze slid slowly toward my lips, making my breath stumble in my chest as he continued boldly:

"Your lips... ah, your red lips are like a ripe strawberry, I want to devour them..."

My breath caught, and I raised my hands as a barrier between us, pushing him away from my private space, and scread in a choked voice:

"Stop! Stop right now!"

He straightened up, and a look of fake innocence appeared on his face, as he said coldly:

"Why? I was only showing you how you can distinguish between explicit flirting and re kind words."

I tried hard to pull myself together and expel the echo of his words from my head, and said while averting my gaze from him:

"Yes, I know... I got the point, no need for further explanation."

Carlos moved lightly toward the bed and threw himself onto it in a relaxed position, leaning his body back on his arms, causing his open shirt to spread even more, revealing the details of his bronze chest in a scandalous way.

He looked at with half-closed eyes and said:

"Yes, my friend... tell now, did you like my roses?"

I looked around the room, which had turned into a chaotic garden, and said, trying to regain my sarcastic tone:

د"Are you planning to open a flower shop for ? Because with this huge number, this will certainly be my new job."

He laughed lightly and shook his head:

"A flower girl? Yes, why not?"

Then he sat up slightly and continued in a tone that lost its sarcasm for a mont:

"In fact, I didn’t know which type you preferred, so I decided to bring you every type and color."

I froze in my place for a second; did he really think about my personal taste to the point that he bought all of this just out of worry that I wouldn’t like a single type? I felt my heart contract in a strange way, but I resisted this feeling and said defiantly:

"You say we are friends and you know nothing about ... do you always choose your friends randomly like this?"
