"This..."

Seeing the Sword of Saint Catherine appear before him, Ronald had a premonition.

At the Oak Tree Theatre that day, he had had no better way to deal with the group of ordinary people under psychological suggestion. In the end, he could only use the recently reclaid Sword of Saint Catherine to reapply a new psychological suggestion to those ordinary people.

The events of that day were thus dealt with.

Today, the priest in charge of administrative duties appeared and ca over to discuss the details of the matter with him, which seed unavoidable after all.

Just as Ronald was feeling a bit tense, the elder with a kind smile began to speak:

"Mr. Ronald, do not be too nervous. We understand that you have learned quite a bit of family knowledge, so you would not harbor any excessive doubts over certain phenona. Our eting here today is still to confirm your view on this relic of the saint."

...

A very gentle statent.

The priest first acknowledged Ronald’s possession of so ’special knowledge’, then he did not directly ask ’how to recite the maxim on the Sword of Saint Catherine’.

From the start of the conversation, this amiable old man steered the topic into a very gentle atmosphere.

However, Ronald also understood that this way of speaking ant that the other party would definitely make so requests. Even in the best scenario he predicted, he should be prepared to divulge the maxim on the Sword of Saint Catherine.

So Ronald nodded quite bluntly in response:

"If you’re talking about the Sword of Saint Catherine, I think it is a very powerful relic of the saint, and its abilities are quite dangerous in this era. Whoever possesses this relic of the saint will imdiately have power over ordinary people. For such an item, no amount of caution can be too great."

...

The priest did not respond to Ronald right away.

After hearing his view on the Sword of Saint Catherine, the old man’s gaze fell into deep thought without any attempt to hide it. Further into his reflection, he even closed his eyes to ditate, and a strange magic power began to emanate from around his body.

...

Ronald couldn’t be sure what the other party intended to do for a while, so he could only quietly watch from the opposite side. After all, no matter how outrageous, given his current relationship with the church, they wouldn’t directly take action against him, would they?

Ti passed bit by bit.

After about two minutes, the priest slowly opened his eyes.

A flicker of gray-white light flashed in his pupils, and Ronald only caught a silhouette.

Then, the old man spoke.

However, his tone was no longer gentle, but rather serious and cautious as if facing sothing of great importance.

"Infinite branches of destiny have appeared ahead. Past enemies, newly born rulers, and the sentient beings who are ignorant and can only accept the changes, all face choices in the future."

"And Ronald, a certain choice you make in the future,"

"Will greatly affect the occurrence and change of all these events."

The priest’s words were not difficult to understand, and Ronald naturally understood. However, besides what the conversation conveyed, he was more concerned about sothing else.

"Priest... what you just used, was it so kind of prophetic spell?"

"No, a prophetic spell isn’t sothing so simple to use." The old man, regaining his smile, shook his head. He started to arrange the black cloth in his hands and then wrapped the Sword of Saint Catherine once again.

"This is a small secret of the church, a rather clever technique. Sotis it can be useful, at other tis it counts for nothing."

After speaking, the priest also wrapped the Sword of Saint Catherine securely.

Then he generously placed this relic of the saint on the table before resuming:

"Mr. Ronald, since you and His Majesty see eye to eye, our church naturally won’t interfere in this matter. Starting today, the relic of the saint will be entrusted to Martha for safekeeping. If... if an irrevocable situation does arise, then co and have a look at the convent here."

After finishing, the high-ranking priest gave Ronald a aningful smile.

Then the old man stood up without any hesitation, turned his head, and left the library.

Leaving only Ronald seated.

And the Sword of Saint Catherine on the table.

"..."

Sitting in front of the desk for a few seconds, Ronald blinked with so confusion.

He had originally prepared a heap of argunts in his mind, and had simulated many different ways to respond to various situations. However, the high-ranking priest’s reaction rendered all his preparations useless.

Thinking back to the several tis he had interacted with the church, they had always shown him considerable favor. Although he was initially unclear about the reason, he could now surmise that it was related to his family’s ancient ancestor.

But did such favor extend to entrusting him with the Sword of Saint Catherine?

When the high-ranking priest left, he said that Ronald could borrow it later.

But with such a vague excuse, it would be very easy for Ronald to use it in the future.

And then there was that phrase, ’in agreent with that sovereign.’

Who could this person of high-ranking priest status refer to with such a tone—the Pope of the church, or perhaps Queen Greta? And what exactly did that so-called agreent entail?

Sitting quietly at the desk, Ronald couldn’t even focus on a single word of the rare books in front of him.

The high-ranking priest’s words had several possible interpretations.

Asking him to make an absolutely accurate guess right away was sowhat challenging.

Tap, tap—

Minutes passed, and calm, rhythmic footsteps sounded outside the library.

Ronald looked up; it was Brother Ande from the Trinity Monastery. Perhaps because the high-ranking priest had just visited, a rare sense of solemnity accompanied the old man’s usual composure.

The old monk approached Ronald, his gaze naturally falling on the Sword of Saint Catherine wrapped in black cloth on the table.

"Mr. Ronald, this..."

"The Sword of Saint Catherine. Mr. Gre instructed that Martha should take charge of this relic of the saint from now on," replied Ronald, directly recounting the high-ranking priest’s words.

The old monk nodded slightly, as if he understood.

"Martha... indeed?"

"But apart from that, did the high-ranking priest have any other instructions?"

"..."

Faced with this question, Ronald thought carefully before answering:

"Mr. Gre... he told that I could borrow the Sword of Saint Catherine in the future. If you have any concerns on your end..."

Ronald hadn’t finished speaking when the old monk imdiately interjected:

"If the high-ranking priest has commanded it, it ans you, Ronald, have the qualification. There’s no need to doubt such matters."

"I see..."

Watching Brother Ande before him, Ronald slowly stood and walked toward the exit of the library.

"It’s also getting late."

"Brother Ande, I shall take my leave now."
