After Bapulor’s "visit," the response of the investigation bureau was very thought-provoking.
Although Eileen took people to chase this cult magician that very night, not to ntion that they didn’t catch their target, as ti passed, two days later, this young investigator even terminated the "protection" operation for Ronald.
The investigator posts on the block returned to normal, and Eileen’s figure was no longer seen in the White Star district’s office.
And the reason for this change.
Was undoubtedly related to Bapulor’s appearance that night.
One could only say that as the matter progressed, more and more doubts surfaced before Ronald, and everything that might be happening behind the scenes beca increasingly intriguing.
It was the third day after everything around Ronald had returned to normal.
A new problem ca knocking on his door.
In early August, having dealt with his affairs, Ronald, as usual, headed to the White Star district office, and on the way, he even bought two bottles of fruit-flavored soda which was supposedly all the rage on other continents, but the actual taste was like that of fernted cough syrup.
Adhering to the basic principle of not wasting, Ronald forced a smile and finished the drink, his face full of speechlessness:
"This taste... have I tried it sowhere before?"
"Ugh—"
Progressing with a conflicted gaze.
Ronald hadn’t been in the White Star district for too long when a lady, possibly in her thirties, accompanied by a young man, approached him and asked respectfully:
"Excuse ... are you Mr. Ronald?"
"Ah, yes, I am."
Recently, whenever Ronald went out, he maintained a minimal amount of "Fury" power for early warning. The man and woman before him bore no hostility and did not seem to be looking for trouble.
Sure enough, the lady broke into a smile and said:
"Mr. Ronald, it is a pleasure to et you."
"I am Fanny, a student of Teacher Theresa, and I have just arrived in Springs. Due to my teacher’s commission, I made a special trip to et with you—oh, right, this is my student Eddie."
"Eddie, co and et Mr. Ronald; he is the great man that Teacher Theresa often ntions!"
The young man stepped forward with a sowhat nervous expression:
"Good day, Mr. Ronald, I... I am Eddie Alt."
"Hello, I am Ronald Adler."
Greeting the two people in front of him with a friendly attitude, Ronald simultaneously pondered two questions.
The first question, whether the other party was indeed connected to the powerful witch, Theresa, seed beyond doubt, but what was the reason for coming all the way to Springs to find him?
The Witch Council’s matter had been concluded, and there seed no reason for the Council of Twelve Witches to look for him here.
As for the second question...
That was about the student of this witch, Fanny.
Does this mysterious sect known as the "Council of Twelve Witches" also recruit male apprentices?
While Ronald was contemplating these various things, Fanny in front of him once again respectfully bowed:
"Mr. Ronald, I apologize for this abrupt disturbance, but according to my teacher’s commission, we have so matters to thoroughly discuss with you, may I know when you are available?"
Ronald readily replied:
"I am generally quite available; just choose a ti that is convenient for you."
"In that case... are you available tonight?"
"..."
Ronald paused briefly.
Although he personally didn’t mind much, was this witch from the "Council of Twelve Witches" really in such a hurry for the upcoming matter?
The power of "Fury" assisted Ronald in sensing the emotions of the other party.
At least while conversing with himself, the emotional fluctuations of the Caster nad Fanny seed perfectly normal, without any information that might raise suspicion.
Then, Ronald continued to speak:
"No problem, let’s do it tonight."
"I get ho from work... in any case, after eight o’clock in the evening, I’ll definitely be there."
"Thank you for taking ti out of your busy schedule, I won’t disturb you any further."
Receiving the affirmative answer from Ronald, the witch imdiately bid farewell to him with her student. As she left, her face was undisguised happiness and excitent.
"..."
He watched her walk away for a few seconds.
Ronald shrugged slightly, and then twisted around to continue his pace toward his place of work.
Putting everything else aside, there was this bottle of ’delicious soda’ left in his hand.
He would have to have Heiloyce taste it later.
————
The afternoon work at the White Star District office went smoothly.
After work, Ronald and Heiloyce went ho on ti and in sync.
Then, they climbed the spiral stairs to the third floor, where they imdiately saw the shadows of Fanny and Eddie standing at the doorstep.
Ronald’s expression was sowhat hesitant, but he still took the initiative to step forward:
"Miss Fanny...?"
The witch from the Twelve Witches Association looked very eager not to be misunderstood by Ronald, and she almost imdiately began to explain:
"Mr. Ronald, this is at the behest of Teacher Teresa."
"The teacher suggested that we live in the place where she lived before, and so of the arrangents she left behind would be functional array bases that could save us a lot of steps."
"I see..."
Just as Ronald nodded in understanding, the witch in front of him invited him:
"Well... since it was our side that failed to ntion this earlier, as an apology, Mr. Ronald, please co sit with us. The teacher specifically instructed to bring so tea leaves."
This ti, Ronald didn’t imdiately agree but excused himself:
"I’m a bit dirty from just having finished work, I should change my clothes before coming over."
"Okay."
Both of them nodded in farewell and then returned to their respective apartnts.
Just as Ronald walked in the door and took off his coat, Heiloyce closed the door and asked in a low voice:
"Ronald, you didn’t do sothing outrageous to that great witch, did you? The attitude of these two doesn’t seem like the normal behavior of witches."
Upon hearing Heiloyce’s words, Ronald asked curiously:
"The normal behavior of a witch? Is there so kind of saying for it?"
Heiloyce nodded and said:
"Of course, this is the Twelve Witches Association. Although it’s not a behemoth like the Investigator Bureau, it’s a major school elsewhere, and these witches are all very proud!"
Ronald contrasted Heiloyce’s description with Fanny.
His colleague had no reason to deceive him, so the problem could only lie with the witch herself.
After taking off his coat and changing into a clean shirt, Ronald instructed:
"Given that, let’s be more vigilant afterward."
"At least within the scope of my spell detection, these two don’t pose any problem."
Heiloyce nodded, her gaze complex, and after changing into another article of clothing, she turned to open the door and headed next door:
"Let’s hope so..."
