When Ronald and Heloise arrived in the next room,
the room was already set up with hot tea, and Fanny and her students were there waiting for them.
Ronald scanned the room with his eyes.
He frequently used to visit when the Great Witch Theresa lived here, so he was quite familiar with the layout of the room. As Theresa’s student, Fanny’s arrangent of the room and so of the defensive spells were identical.
"Mr. Ronald, please have a seat."
"..."
"Can we talk about the matter at hand now?"
Sitting down as Fanny directed, Ronald imdiately steered the conversation towards the main topic.
"I had a very pleasant ti with Lady Theresa, please speak frankly."
"..."
Upon hearing this, the witch, who was about to exchange pleasantries, was slightly taken aback.
Reminded of her teacher Theresa’s introduction and seeing the amiable expression on Ronald’s face, she realized that this powerful holder of the original texts was soone she could communicate with properly, and she finally relaxed.
"Since you are so generous, Mr. Ronald, we will dispense with any pretense on our part."
"Eddie, bring the gift we prepared."
The prepared gift...
Ronald was sowhat puzzled in his mind.
The organization, The Twelve Witches, had a decent private relationship with the Great Witch, and there was no problem with exchanging gifts. However, judging from Fanny’s attitude since her arrival today, she did not seem to be on an errand for her teacher.
Then, as the representative of The Twelve Witches sect...
These two casters had sought him out, and they had practically prepared a ’gift’—their intent was definitely not simple.
As Ronald was making this judgnt in his mind, following a single sweeping gesture from Fanny, her student Eddie imdiately went to the edge of the living room and solemnly took out a wooden case about the size of a pastry box.
"Teacher Fanny, Mr. Ronald."
He nodded in respect to the two seated on the sofa, and a faint trace of magic power emanated from Eddie’s hand, which then passed lightly over the lock on the wooden case.
Click—
The sound of the lock’s chanism springing open was heard.
They appeared different from each other, with colors and textures resembling either black charcoal stones or glass-like pieces—in total, three tiny stones lay inside.
Ronald looked over them at first glance.
He confird that they were not magic tools, as they contained no trace of magic fluctuation.
Looking again for a second ti.
The shape and texture of the stones offered no clues, and even by broadening his thoughts, he could not associate them with any special mystical symbols.
The third glance... wait!
Suddenly, Ronald’s gaze fixed on one piece that resembled glass. Usually, such materials result from incomplete combustion due to high temperatures, leading to a physical transformation that was not thorough.
High temperatures, complex and irregular materials, the gift he needed...
Could these three stones be three teorites?
If he was not mistaken, then upon receiving these three ’stones,’ Ronald could imdiately return ho and gain three powerful original spellbooks!
Ronald was about to ask about the composition of the stones subconsciously, but as soon as he started speaking, he imdiately changed his question:
"How... how did you know I needed this?"
"I collect teorites with different compositions. Not many people should know about that."
Fanny seed well-prepared for Ronald’s inquiry.
As soon as the question was asked, she imdiately responded:
"The business organization supported by the ’Twelve Witches’ has had dealings with Ginkgo Leaf. Though their search for the teorite was covert, we were still able to infer sothing on our side."
Ronald imdiately realized everything.
Back in Berengaria, he already knew about the competitive relationship between ’White Bird Business Consortium’ and ’Ginkgo Leaf Business Alliance’. As one of the powers supporting ’White Bird’, it was within reason for the ’Twelve Witches’ to deduce such information upon receiving news.
Staring at the three small teorite pieces inside the wooden box, Ronald shook his head with a wry smile,
"You...really did prepare a gift that’s hard for to refuse."
No sooner had Ronald spoken than Fanny’s expression tensed up suddenly,
"Mr. Ronald, please don’t misunderstand!"
"This gift was specially prepared for you, it’s not sothing brought out as paynt for the task!"
At that mont, Heloise stepped forward and sat down beside Ronald.
Seemingly unable to watch the two’s current state, she decisively cut off Fanny saying,
"Witch Miss, get to the specifics."
"As long as it’s nothing too outrageous, Ronald and I won’t refuse your request."
Fanny had co prepared, and naturally understood Ronald and Heloise’s relationship.
Seeing that the ’lady of the house’ had spoken, she opened up and continued,
"This matter is actually related to soone called Lumiere."
"A month ago, she suddenly appeared at one of our secret bases, stole sothing of great significance, and eventually fled to Spruce City to hide. As the stolen item was too delicate for the Bureau to get involved, we sought information from various sources before coming to you."
"..."
Lumiere?
Why does that na sound so familiar?
Ronald now really wanted to turn his head and glare at Heloise, but because there were two mbers of the ’Twelve Witches’ present, it wouldn’t be appropriate. Thus, controlling his expression, he feigned great concern,
"If it concerns Lumiere, I have indeed had dealings with them."
"But according to the information I have, they shouldn’t have the potential to cause further trouble, right?"
Fanny replied with a very serious tone,
"Mr. Ronald, we have no reason to deceive you on this matter."
"If it weren’t for the fact that Spruce City’s current environnt is too complex, and the ’Twelve Witches’ have very close relationships with many organizations, we would normally not request assistance from others."
"..."
Fanny’s manner of speaking, her gaze, and expression were all impeccable.
With the aid of ’Fury’s’ power, Ronald too was convinced of the caster’s sincerity in her attitude.
After contemplating for a few seconds, he sighed lightly and nodded in reply,
"I understand, I can and am willing to offer assistance with this matter."
"However, regarding any other information on Lumiere, I hope you can provide so, as it’s been a while since I’ve kept track of them."
"Thank you for your kindness!"
Seeing Ronald’s attitude, Fanny revealed a truly heartfelt smile for the first ti.
She extended her hand and pushed the wooden box on the table towards Ronald, and quickly pulled out a stack of organized papers from the side of the table and placed it between them.
"This is all the information we have on Lumiere."
"Everything has been listed in detail, useful or not."
"..."
Ronald subconsciously raised his hand to scratch his hair.
He sighed while picking up the pages to start looking through the information.
