"You really do have quite the twisted sense of humor," Ronald said as he rubbed his temples and scanned the surroundings.

He had begun to understand what Lyle was thinking.

The spy leader of Entrod had not brought him to et Rumi tonight for any practical benefit; it was rely a probe of his own attitude in this matter.

His gaze finally settled on Lyle’s face.

Realizing everything, Ronald paused then spoke up at last,

"Is my attitude that important to you?"

"Extrely important!" Lyle responded without hesitation, before continuing, "Mr. Ronald, although I had gathered so information about you before, I always felt unsure about your actual situation."

"Today is a rare opportunity. While showing goodwill, I also get to see firsthand what kind of man you truly are."

"..."

Ronald pondered for a few seconds, shook his head, and replied,

"I won’t go easy on Rumi."

As soon as he finished speaking, Ronald turned and walked deeper into the building.

The first and second floors of the building housed those pitiful children.

As a secretive caster, Rumi was most likely hiding in the building’s underground area.

At that ti, Lyle was still at Ronald’s side.

His face still wore a smile, and he continued to express his views about Ronald:

"Normal casters, whether it be Bapulor or Alya, or even I or Heloise, in today’s scenario, wouldn’t think about these children."

"Your monts of contemplation and hesitation just now, Mr. Ronald, were rare reactions I’ve not seen before."

—Pop—

Ronald suddenly stopped, turned sharply, and looked at Lyle,

"I’m sorry, but I think hesitation and contemplation should be the normal reaction to this situation. Those who don’t care about anything else, only seeing themselves, will eventually face nothing but self-destruction."

Lyle hadn’t expected such a response from Ronald.

He quickly stepped back two paces, his face breaking into a conceding smile,

"Mr. Ronald, please don’t misunderstand my aning."

"I just think that soone like you would make a very satisfying partner."

Ronald was not in the dark about such people as Lyle.

He withdrew his cold gaze and continued walking into the building,

"Let’s forget these insincere pleasantries."

"Our relationship is fine just at the level of a cooperation."

"..."

Lyle said nothing more.

He just followed Ronald with the sa smile.

Continuing deeper into the building, Ronald quickly found the entrance to the basent. Such building basents are mostly situated in side rooms, and this was no exception.

The entrance was still covered by a hatch door, a favorite of this world, covered with a fairly concealed spell.

At this mont, Ronald’s last uncertainty was about the underground.

He did not sense Rumi’s ntal fluctuations, but standing at this distance, the magic power leaking from below certainly proved soone was ’working’ there.

Could it be another puppet?

Or perhaps, after a few encounters, had Rumi found a way to hide from him?

This thought crossed his mind.

Ronald let his magic power linger on his fingertips, quickly locking onto the guardian magic placed on the entrance.

—Puff—

With a simple press of his palm downward, the spell on the hatch door was directly disrupted by Ronald.

He knew clearly that Mil would never set just one spell.

So, he simply pulled open the trapdoor, and the black mist of "Fury" poured directly below.

Yet, this action was still not the end.

With eyes fixed on a scene resembling water flooding into a rat hole, Ronald then recited an incantation,

"At this mont, gaze into the abyss.

The river of blood is right before your eyes.

It’s boiling and stewing the criminals who wounded with violence..."

The power of Hell’s river of blood began to manifest in Ronald’s hands. This summoned force of "violence" mingled quickly with "Fury," rushing together into the basent.

The original spell’s magic power was already astonishing.

The subsequent spells set up were instantly overwheld by the fiercely surging black mist.

Simple, direct, and efficient!

This was the most suitable approach for the current situation.

Next, feeling the feedback from the mist inside the basent, Ronald beca even more certain that tonight’s venture would yield sothing. At the location shrouded by Hell’s power, several puppets involved were already appearing.

A few more seconds passed, and the basent was completely filled with the mist.

In total, twelve puppet guards, along with one humanoid creature, were now below.

Ronald felt the result, and simultaneously sent a wisp of mist flying to another location.

He certainly had no intention of ignoring the principle of secrecy on the mystical side.

It was more appropriate for these innocent children in the building to be asleep before the battle officially started.

"..."

"Ronald, it’s you again!"

A few more seconds later, a familiar voice erged from the basent.

Mil chided Ronald’s na in a tone brimming with anger, and then imdiately commanded her puppets to rush towards the first floor.

Click—

Within the dark building, the black arc light of Saint Catherine’s sword flashed.

In front of the sharply gifted blade of the Saint, the puppets sent by Mil to clear the path couldn’t stir up any trouble. Ronald hadn’t even used the power of the Sun to restrain them, and the two puppets walking in front were already slashed into pieces.

"..."

In that instant, the basent regained its calm.

After the initial rage, Mil also realized how unfavorable her situation was. The exit to the surface was directly guarded by Ronald, and her surroundings were engulfed by the black mist ford from the spell.

Luckily it was Mil.

If it were soone who had not made specific preparations, they’d likely even struggle to mount a proper resistance.

Ronald, this guy, was indeed her biggest...

No... it shouldn’t be like this!

While pondering her options, Mil suddenly ca to her senses.

The information about her hiding here was almost absolutely confidential, with no chances for the bureau or the "Nine Commandnts Society" to discover her. As for these children... entirely relying on themselves for survival, they were also directly monitored by her spell.

Then how had Ronald found her location?

With this thought, Mil realized she only had one last suspect.

Therefore, she shouted toward the outside,

"Lalaye, it’s you!"

"You betrayed , didn’t you!"

Hearing this voice, Ronald subconsciously looked behind himself.

However, where soone should have been standing, there was now only an empty room.

At so unknown ti,

Lalaye had disappeared from here.
