It wasn't long before the car drove into the city.
When Oliver looked through the window, he saw the countless number of people and buildings. It made him feel strange inside. After spending more than 3 months on that island, being back amongst the hustling of civilization felt unnatural.
There was sothing about this place... sothing that made him tense up a little bit. Maybe it was the noises, or maybe it was the people, or maybe it was the traffic.
He wasn't sure. Whatever it was, Oliver felt as though he'd been transported back into the real world after spending months on that island.
It felt overwhelming. Because, unlike the natural atmosphere of the island, now he was bombarded with loud sounds of horns blaring and the chatter of crowds going about their day.
And his instincts scread danger everywhere he looked, making him hyper-vigilant.
It was as if every person, every passing car, and every single thing around him beca a potential threat.
Oliver knew that it was absurd because he had always felt at ease in the city before.
Yet now, all of a sudden, he started imagining what kind of terrible thing might happen to him.
He started questioning whether soone would suddenly co up to him and stab him with a knife or if there was sothing dangerous waiting for him in the alleyways.
Every sound or movent was enough to make him jump.
Oliver closed his eyes and breathed deeply through his nostrils, forcing himself to calm down. 'Relax. I'm just being paranoid. It's natural after going through what I did. But there's no way these people can hurt . Even if I'm not like a super soldier or anything, I've been through a lot, and I have experience. So stop panicking. No one's going to kill you. Get a hold of yourself.'
Slowly but surely, Oliver managed to compose himself once again. His heartbeat returned to normal, and his breathing stabilized.
"Haaah... I should've taken a rest before getting off the plane and coming here," he muttered to himself.
Before Oliver could continue musing about his ntal state, the Rolls Royce stopped in front of a building.
"We've arrived." The driver announced through the intercom.
"Thank you. You can wait at the side for ." Oliver said and opened the door to the left of him before stepping out onto the curb.
Then he closed the door behind him and headed toward the entrance of a police station while two ard guards followed after him from behind.
This attracted a lot of attention as people stared at him. After all, no one would expect to witness such an incredible sight. There was no doubt that this was a powerful figure and not soone common.
"Excuse , sir. What is your purpose here?" A police officer approached Oliver from the entrance of the building and looked him up and down suspiciously. "Can I help you?"
"Yes, I'm here to see the chief," Oliver replied without hesitating for a second. "Could you take to her office, please?"
The policeman narrowed his eyes as he scrutinized Oliver, who wore a suit, looking like a top boss, with two ard n following closely behind.
And while there was no way soone could et with the chief just by saying so, the guy didn't look like soone to be trifled with.
So instead of arguing, the officer thought about reporting this to the chief before allowing them to et with her. "Alright then... please wait inside while I ask the chief whether she's available. Is that okay with you?"
"Sure," Oliver complied as they stepped into the building. "But make it quick because I'm busy. Tell her it's Oliver Ashford, and I'm sure she'll want to et right away."
The policeman nodded and went ahead.
Oliver didn't have to wait long for him to return with the chief of police behind him.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting, Mr. Oliver," Lauren said politely as she stopped in front of him, her gaze flickering over him. "I thought you would reach out a week after that incident, but it seems you've been far too busy—eting only now, after three months."
Oliver smirked and waved his hand. "Sorry about that. Things happened, and I was out of the city for a while."
The chief nodded and gestured at her office. "Let's discuss inside."
Oliver followed her while looking at her swaying buttocks, which seed bigger than the last ti he saw her. And her exposed long legs with thick thighs looked tempting.
'Hmm... seems like my sexual desires haven't vanished from spending three months on the island,' he mused silently. 'No, they have grown even stronger now. I feel more vigorous than ever.'
"Please take a seat." Lauren gestured for him to sit on the couch as she sat opposite of him. "Now, what can I do for you?"
Oliver sat comfortably on the couch, then glanced at her cleavage that threatened to spill out at any mont. And his eyes remained glued to it, as if captivated by it.
Lauren noticed it and raised one of her perfectly arched eyebrows. But she didn't comnt on it and crossed her arms under her massive breasts. It lifted them slightly, making them bulge even more in her uniform.
Oliver noticed her movents and lifted his gaze back onto her face, eting her sharp eyes staring right at him. "I'm sure you're wondering why I ca to visit you all of a sudden today, Chief Lauren. I want to know who attacked back then, and I believe you guys must already know the answer."
Lauren pursed her lips. "Indeed, we do... but why do you want to find out, Mr. Oliver? Are you going to retaliate against them for daring to attack you?"
