The Taketori ninja spoke quickly.
"Lord Kazekage, it's not like that at all. The Hidden Mist betrayed you and caused Sunagakure massive losses. But they're too far away for you to reach easily. That's why we're willing to punish them in your place. If the Mist suffers, isn't that a win for Sunagakure too?"
Rasa shook his head.
"Making the Mist pay and actually gaining sothing for Sunagakure are two different things. Don't mix them up. And why co all the way here when you could go to the Leaf instead?"
The man blinked.
"The Leaf?"
"Danzo Shimura would jump at the chance. Give him any opening to screw over another village and he'll take it—especially the Mist. Or the Hyuga clan. Your two clans have history. Even after that public break, it was only because the Leaf forced their hand while they were still allied with the Mist. Now that the Leaf and Mist are at each other's throats, the Hyuga definitely want their Byakugan back. They'd help you gladly."
The Taketori ninja thought it over. It made sense… but asking the Hyuga for aid ant bowing their heads. Two ancient clans. The Hyuga had been the ones to declare the split. Now the Taketori would have to crawl back? The loss of face would be brutal.
Rasa saw the hesitation.
"Danzo holds real power in the Leaf. Go through him."
The man nodded slowly.
"You make a good point, Lord Kazekage. But… are you sure Sunagakure won't help us at all? The stronger we get, the more we weaken the Mist. That has to benefit you too."
Rasa considered it for a mont.
"How about a trade instead?"
"What kind of trade?"
"I'm interested in your clan's kekkei genkai."
The Taketori ninja's face went pale.
"Impossible. That's our most precious secret. We'd never trade it away. It's the sa as the Hyuga and their Byakugan."
Rasa raised an eyebrow. The guy talked a good ga, but Rasa rembered the canon tiline—how the Taketori had treated Kimimaro like a weapon instead of family. Locked him away when they didn't need him. Nice speech, though.
"Fine. What else do you actually have that's worth trading?"
The man glanced at the door.
"Lord Kazekage, those two kunoichi we brought—"
Rasa cut him off cold.
"What the hell do you take for? I'm not that kind of man. I'm not interested in won like that. If you want a real deal, bring sothing actually useful to Sunagakure."
The Taketori ninja lowered his head and thought hard.
"The Hozuki clan's secret technique. Would you be interested in that, Lord Kazekage?"
"Hozuki?"
Rasa's interest sharpened.
"How does the Taketori clan even have that?"
The man explained.
"After the Second Mizukage died, the Hozuki clan went into decline. They're almost gone now—dead or scattered. Plenty of people in the Mist are eyeing their old resources. Back in the Second's ti they were at their peak, stronger than even the Senju were at their height. My clan managed to get our hands on a piece of it. Half of the Hydrification Technique."
Rasa frowned.
"Half?"
"Yes, Lord. I wouldn't lie. Just half. If we had the full thing, more of us would've mastered it by now."
Rasa tapped his fingers on the desk.
"Half makes it worth a lot less. A complete Hydrification Technique is insane—turns the whole body into water, immune to physical attacks, only Lightning Release really counters it. Better than most kekkei genkai. Still… I'm curious. Bring it. I'll take a look."
The man looked relieved.
"I can have it delivered right away. We also have intelligence—so on the Hidden Mist, so on the Hyuga clan. If you're interested, we can bring that too."
"Bring all of it. Let see what it's worth."
Rasa t his eyes.
"I'm fair. You bring value, I give you equal value in aid. No gas."
The Taketori ninja's face lit up.
"Thank you, Lord Kazekage!"
Rasa waved him off.
Once the man was gone, Rasa leaned back, eyes narrowing.
"Looks like that Ambition Inflation Card worked better than expected. Taketori Den must be planning sothing big if they're coming to for help. Perfect timing. I should publish Jinpachi Munashi's interview in the Weekly soon—coordinate it with whatever move they make. Double the damage."

Yagura led the Mist army back into the village, chest puffed out with victory.
They'd crushed both the Shark Skin and Exploding Blade navigation groups. The sea rats had scattered like cowards.
"Navigation groups are nothing. They'll never match a real hidden village."
He clenched his fist. The Six-Tails' chakra pulsed inside him—limitless, overwhelming. He was the strongest now. No one in the entire ninja world could touch him.
"The groups outside are dealt with. The village is stable again."
A cold smile spread across his face.
"Your turn next, Rasa. You thought the Mist was weak? I'll show you what real power looks like."
An ANBU burst into the Mizukage's office, face pale.
"Lord Mizukage—bad news!"
