The heavy stone doors slowly shut behind him with a dull rumble.

The Tsuchikage's office was even simpler than Kyoshin had imagined, yet it carried an unquestionable sense of authority.

At the center of the room stood a massive stone desk, its surface neatly stacked with scrolls and docunts.

The Third Tsuchikage, Onoki, sat behind it in a high-backed chair.

The old man was small in stature, but the chakra pressure radiating from him felt as heavy and immovable as a mountain.

The office's only window faced east. Morning light slanted through it, casting long shadows across the floor while dust drifted slowly through the beam.

"It's been a long ti since we've had friction with Konoha." Onoki lifted his eyelids, his cloudy yet piercing gaze pressing onto Kyoshin like a physical weight.

His voice was low and steady, every word carrying the weight of soone long accustod to standing at the top.

"What was your purpose in appearing at the border?"

Kyoshin pulled a set of docunts from his backpack and handed them to the Iwagakure ninja beside him.

"Maybe these will interest you."

He had already been searched before entering, so the action caused no unusual reaction.

The Iwagakure ninja delivered the docunts to Onoki.

Onoki accepted the scroll and opened it.

As he continued reading, his eyes slowly narrowed.

The scroll detailed the events of the Uchiha massacre and Kyoshin's escape afterward.

Once he finished, the old man rolled the scroll back up, set it on the desk, and let out a cold chuckle after a few seconds of silence.

"Heh… Konoha." He shook his head. "The so-called strongest village in the ninja world, yet they can't even control the sharpest blade in their own hands. The Uchiha… what a waste."

Onoki looked at Kyoshin.

"So you've co to defect to Iwagakure? Why us?"

Kyoshin answered calmly, "This was the conclusion I reached after careful consideration. Among the major ninja villages, only Iwagakure can provide what I need."

Now interested, Onoki leaned forward slightly.

"Oh? The Uchiha clan's reputation shakes the entire ninja world. I doubt we're the only village willing to accept you. Tell , what makes us different?"

The mont Onoki said that, Kyoshin relaxed slightly inside.

He explained, "Sunagakure's Kazekage, Rasa, is still in his pri, but the Sand Village itself is relatively weak and too close to Konoha."

"They also have a history of stabbing allies in the back, let alone an outsider like . I'd probably just end up treated as a tool."

"Kumogakure is extrely militaristic, and their obsession with bloodline limits borders on madness."

"It's a good option, but once I get a little older, if my strength doesn't reach a certain level, there's a real risk of being turned into a breeding machine."

Onoki leaned back in his chair, carefully studying Kyoshin.

Onoki lightly tapped his fingers against the stone desk.

"You survived the massacre night and managed to escape all the way to the borders of the Land of Earth. That alone proves you had a clear understanding of your future plans."

"Then why didn't you contact us beforehand?"

Kyoshin shook his head, "At the ti, I was still a Konoha genin. Contacting a foreign ninja village before the massacre happened would've counted as treason."

A trace of approval flashed through the old man's eyes.

When Onoki spoke again, his tone had softened sowhat, "You're right. Only after observing you for a period of ti can I determine whether or not you're a spy."

"Even though the Uchiha suffered persecution from Konoha, Uchiha Itachi's actions alone are enough to prove Konoha's brainwashing thods can't be underestimated."

"I need to eliminate the possibility that you're the sa kind of person as Uchiha Itachi."

That was exactly the sentence Kyoshin had been waiting for.

He pulled a small tal tube from inside his clothes.

"I managed to obtain a chemical substance called 'truth serum' from Konoha's research departnt. You can first test its effects on a subordinate you trust, then use it on ."

Onoki raised a brow, "Oh? 'Truth serum'?"

Kyoshin handed the tube of liquid to the nearby Iwagakure ninja, who then passed it to Onoki.

Onoki summoned another Iwagakure shinobi and ordered the substance to be taken away for testing.

The composition and effects matched Kyoshin's description exactly, but it would cause permanent nerve damage that could not be repaired.

"There's no need to use the truth serum." The old man set the report down and looked at Kyoshin.

"I can confirm your sincerity through other thods. There's no reason to permanently damage the body of a genius young man of Iwagakure."

Kyoshin froze slightly.

"No need to be nervous." Onoki's voice eased further.

"If you sincerely wish to join us, then naturally I'll take your future into consideration. But until everything is settled, you must obey all of my arrangents completely."

Kyoshin finally relaxed, "I understand."

"Then during this period, you'll stay at my ho."

Kyoshin nodded.

Onoki had an Anbu operative bring over a registration form.

Kyoshin filled out the basic information.

[Uchiha Kyoshin. Seven years old. Forr Konoha genin. Chakra natures: Fire, Wind, Earth.]

Under background, he wrote only one line.

[Survivor of the Uchiha massacre.]

After the form was completed, Onoki floated into the air and led Kyoshin away from the Tsuchikage building to a plain stone house.

Inside the courtyard, a black-haired girl was practicing Earth Release, Rock Fist Technique while a tall, broad man stood nearby supervising her.

The appearance of Onoki and Kyoshin caught their attention.

The tall man turned toward Onoki.

"Father."

Kurotsuchi also stopped training and wiped the sweat from her forehead.

"Grandpa!"

Onoki pointed at Kyoshin as he spoke, "This is Uchiha Kyoshin. Starting today, he'll be staying at our house temporarily."

The two of them imdiately began sizing Kyoshin up.

Kitsuchi thought, 'An Uchiha? Soone from Konoha?'

But Kurotsuchi's focus was elsewhere.

Those delicate features and calm black eyes made her stare a few monts longer.

With a cheerful grin, she walked over and rubbed the top of Kyoshin's head.

"Hello there~ pretty little sister."

Kyoshin, "?"
