Seii chatted with his teammates while waiting for the chakra beasts to arrive near the city wall. He didn't have to wait for long.
Ten minutes later, the horde of chakra beasts was less than one kiloter away from the town.
The sound of thousands of hooves and footsteps filled the surrounding atmosphere as over 2,500 chakra beasts kept approaching the town, ready to raze it to the ground.
As the beasts ca closer, Seii could see the appearance of the incoming disaster even without relying on Tenseigan's farsight ability.
The horde had several types of chakra beasts of various elental affinities.
Insect-type, animal-type, plant-type, and other special types of beasts, such as demons, the gathering of all these chakra beasts in large numbers scread danger.
According to Seii's estimate, there were likely more than sixty B-rank, four A-rank, and one AA-rank chakra beasts.
And to make matters worse, the AA-rank chakra beast was actually an intelligent Fire-type demon, known for its remarkable explosive power. Fighting it would be tough, even if two or three top-level Elite Jonin tead up to face it.
Fortunately, most chakra beasts, at least 1,500 of them, were only D-rank. There were another 500 chakra beasts that were E-rank or slightly stronger than E-rank.
The remaining 450 or so chakra beasts were of C-rank danger rating.
On Seii's side, they had a force of 200 ninjas and 300 samurai.
He wasn't sure about the strength of the samurai force, but his group leader, Senju Haku, ntioned that those samurai could easily take down D-rank beasts and fight against the C-rank ones head-on.
Plus, their side had a total of six Elite Jonin-level powerhouses (excluding Seii), forty full-fledged Jonin, a little more than a hundred Chunin, and the rest of them were Genin or Special Jonin.
And they had the terrain advantage. With their first few rounds of explosive tags and long-distance Ninjutsu attacks, they could kill and injure a few hundred chakra beasts at the very least.
Even when it would be ti to face them head-on in close combat, the altered terrain would prevent the chakra beasts from ganging up on individual ninja or samurai in most cases.
They had made every preparation they could.
Now it was ti to show their strength and ttle to these beasts who sought to kill and devour them.
Soon, Seii and everyone present at the southern checkpoint heard Uzumaki Benitsu's commands once again.
"My fellow Konoha ninjas and brave samurai…"
"The filthy beasts have co to our doorsteps, and it's ti to greet them with thunderous force."
"Everyone, take your positions."
"First, attack with explosive tags."
"If you think you have enough chakra reserves, hit them with your strongest wide-area Ninjutsu."
"Use any ans you can muster to kill and injure the first wave of chakra beasts as much as possible."
"Follow your group and execute the orders you have received."
"Let's protect this town and eliminate the threats that are trying to destroy our hard-earned peace."
With that, every ninja and samurai took their respective positions, ready to attack the chakra beasts with long-ranged attacks once they entered the attack range.
Ninjas had explosive tags and Ninjutsu.
Samurai had special saber and sword techniques that allowed them to attack with long-ranged chakra slashes.
The town walls had quite a few long-range chanical devices that shot harpoon-like projectiles to severely wound or kill chakra beasts with large and strong bodies.
Even the town wall was reinforced with several powerful Fuinjutsu seals and barrier techniques.
Everything was set.
Seii and Uchiha Sorata's figures appeared at the top of one of the 20-ter-tall elevated platforms that Seii created with his Moving Earth Core Jutsu.
Both of their hands were filled with many kunai laced with several explosive tags as they watched the horde of chakra beasts coming toward them with cold eyes.
Seii spoke first, "We'll throw these explosive tags, and then I will use Wind Release to scatter them over a long distance while making the flas generated by the explosive even more destructive."
Uchiha Sorata nodded, "I agree."
"Let's go with that."
Soon, the first wave of chakra beasts ca closer.
This wave didn't have any B-rank or higher chakra beasts.
It was probably arranged by the AA-rank Fire Demon to probe the town's defensive capabilities. In other words, the first wave was nothing but cannon fodder in the eyes of the higher-ranked chakra beasts.
Seii shook off his wandering thoughts and said to himself, It doesn't matter whether they are cannon fodder. They will die all the sa.
On one of the elevated earth platforms, Uzumaki Benitsu crossed his arms and watched the approaching chakra beasts.
When the chakra beasts ca closer, he finally shouted, "All ninjas…"
"Throw the explosive tags!"
As soon as his words fell, the ninjas waiting at the top of the platforms threw hundreds of kunai laced with nurous explosive tags toward the chakra beasts.
Since they were standing on top of high platforms, the reach of their explosive tag-laced kunai had increased significantly.
Seii and Sorata also took action.
They threw tens of kunai attached with explosive tags toward the incoming beasts before Uchiha Sorata urged Seii, "Now."
Seii didn't waste any ti and quickly ford a single-handed seal to gather a large amount of wind chakra in his lungs. He was obviously supercharging his Jutsu to create a more powerful wind.
Wind Release: Great Breakthrough
Seii suddenly exhaled a powerful gust of wind, as strong as a Category Six hurricane, reaching speeds of 300 km/h.
The cataclysmic wind carried not only their explosive tag-attached kunai but also the throwing ninja tools of the nearby ninjas.
The hurricane-like Ninjutsu made it difficult for the affected chakra beasts to stand their ground and maintain their balance while moving. So weak chakra beasts were simply blown away.
In the blink of an eye, deadly kunai and other throwing ninja tools arrived in front of the chakra beasts, piercing the skin and fracturing the bones of many before they could even think about evading them.
A few chakra beasts even got their heads, eyes, throats, and hearts pierced, causing them to lose their lives on the spot.
But this was just the beginning.
At the next mont, the explosive tags attached to those kunai and other throwing ninja tools exploded together with a loud boom.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!
The gigantic shockwave created by hundreds of explosive tags tore through the limbs and bodies of hundreds of chakra beasts that were charging toward the walls.
Then, the crimson flas blood.
Seii's Wind Release Jutsu empowered the crimson flas, increased their already searing temperature even more, and transford them into a tsunami of crimson flas that crashed into all the chakra beasts that were recklessly charging at the town.
The first contact was made.
And the battle had just begun.
