The phrase "the Hokage's trusted subordinates"…
It sounded both familiar and strangely foreign to the Uchiha gathered in the secret chamber.
They had imagined many futures—such as the day the Uchiha would seize power through a successful coup and one of their own would beco Hokage.
But never had they imagined a future where the Uchiha themselves would beco the Hokage's loyal faction.
Uchiha Ren looked at the assembled clan mbers and continued,
"Of course, this path won't be as easy as you imagine."
"Hiruzen Sarutobi, Shimura Danzō, Homura Mitokado, and Koharu Utatane—those old foxes will never willingly relinquish the power in their hands."
"When Minato Namikaze takes the position of Hokage…"
"…that will also be the mont we begin a full-scale confrontation with them."
"This will be a struggle of life and death."
"Although Minato becoming the Fourth Hokage gives us the moral high ground, if we lose, the fate of the Uchiha clan won't be much better than if we had launched an ard coup outright."
Ren 's heavy tone made the atmosphere in the secret room grow oppressive, casting a shadow over everyone's hearts.
But suddenly, his tone changed.
"However, so things must be done by soone!"
His voice rose with passion.
"Think back to the founding of Konoha!"
"At that ti, although the hatred between the Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan had not completely disappeared after generations of conflict, we set aside our grudges for a shared dream and advanced together!"
"During those years, we worked as one. In just a few short years, we built Konoha into the undisputed strongest village in the shinobi world!"
"But everything changed after the death of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, when the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, took power!"
"The inherently suspicious Tobirama Senju lacked the overwhelming strength of his elder brother. Realizing he could not completely control the increasingly powerful village, he began implenting a series of asures to restrict the growth of various factions within Konoha."
"And thus began the era of internal power struggles."
"And the Uchiha were the first to suffer!"
"It was from that mont that Konoha began its gradual decline."
At this point, Ren 's tone unconsciously carried a trace of reflection.
He realized that Konoha's history closely resembled the rise and fall of feudal dynasties.
In nearly every dynasty, the founding emperor possessed absolute authority. Neither civil officials nor military commanders could threaten the throne.
Because of that, founding rulers could devote nearly all their energy to developing the nation, ushering in a period of rapid prosperity.
This was why many dynasties experienced their first "golden age" shortly after their founding.
But after the founding ruler passed away, later emperors—whether competent or diocre—always possessed weaker control over their ministers.
As a result, they were forced to expend enormous effort balancing competing factions within the court.
National resources were gradually consud by internal conflict.
And as ti passed, decline beca inevitable.
Konoha's developnt followed a similar trajectory—like a miniature reflection of a nation's history.
Ren paused briefly before continuing.
"And when the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, took power, the situation beca even worse."
"When Hiruzen first beca Hokage, his position was heavily contested within the village."
"If it hadn't been warti—and if Mito Uzumaki, the wife of the First Hokage and Konoha's first Nine-Tails jinchuriki, hadn't personally endorsed him—Hiruzen would never have secured the Hokage seat."
"Compared to Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen's control over the village was even weaker."
"So he followed his teacher's example—suppressing various factions within the village in order to consolidate his authority."
"That is precisely why, during Hiruzen's rule, Konoha gradually declined and lost the overwhelming dominance it once held in the shinobi world."
Ren 's mind flashed through examples.
The tragedy of the White Fang of Konoha, the departure of the Legendary Sannin, the death of the Fourth Hokage, the massacre of the Uchiha Clan, and even the humiliation of handing over a Hyūga clan mber to appease foreign anger.
So of these events had not yet occurred—but they revealed the direction of Hiruzen's governance.
Even after Hashirama Senju's death, Konoha still possessed an extraordinary lineup of powerful shinobi.
Yet under Hiruzen's leadership, such a strong hand had been completely squandered.
A man unworthy of his position trying to cling desperately to power—
This was the inevitable result.
Ren 's voice grew resolute.
"I can say with certainty: if Hiruzen Sarutobi continues to control the village, Konoha will only grow weaker."
"This village was built and nurtured through the blood and effort of our ancestors!"
"Are you willing to stand by and watch their legacy crumble to dust?!"
His sudden roar shook the entire chamber.
"NO!"
The Uchiha responded in unison.
The glory of their ancestors could never be dishonored.
Ren shouted again,
"And under Hiruzen's rule, the decline of the village will inevitably be accompanied by the destruction of the Uchiha clan!"
"Do you intend to let Hiruzen suppress us until the day we die?!"
"NO!"
This ti the roar was even louder—filled with resentnt, fury, and unwillingness.
Ren continued,
"If we want to change this fate, there is only one path!"
"We must seize power from Hiruzen Sarutobi and purge the corruption festering within the village!"
"Hiruzen Sarutobi is unworthy of the title of Hokage!"
"Seize power! Revolt!"
"Drive that old tyrant Hiruzen Sarutobi from office!"
"Let the wicked Shimura Danzō et his end!"
"And expose the incompetence of Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado to the entire village!"
"Seize power! Seize power! Seize power!"
The Uchiha in the chamber were completely fired up, fists clenched tightly.
Uchiha Setsuna was practically trembling with excitent.
The situation had taken a dramatic turn—and returned exactly to the path he had always desired.
After glancing briefly at Uchiha Ya, who was still deep in thought, Setsuna turned to Ren and asked,
"Ren , from today onward, you will be the Clan Head of the Uchiha."
"Tell us—what should we do next?"
Uchiha Ya sighed softly before speaking as well.
"If there truly is a chance to win… then it's worth risking everything."
"Ren , the future of the Uchiha clan is now in your hands."
Ren 's gaze turned deep and resolute.
"First, many people in the village fear the strength of the Uchiha. Because of that, they believe we are extremists—impossible to control."
"But Minato Namikaze understands sothing."
"He knows that the Uchiha—one of the founders of the village—would never act in a way that harms Konoha's interests."
"So I ask you all…"
"Do not betray the trust he has placed in us."
He paused for a mont.
"From this day forward, I hope everyone will cast aside the prejudice in your hearts toward the village."
"For the glory of both the Uchiha Clan and Konohagakure…"
"Offer your loyalty!"
"LOYALTY!"
Without the slightest hesitation, the Uchiha shouted in unison.
