"Poof!!"
A massive cloud of summoning smoke exploded at the center of Konoha Village.
Under countless horrified gazes, a gigantic nine-tailed fox slowly erged from within the smoke, its colossal body towering above the village like a living natural disaster descending upon the earth itself.
The enormous Nine-Tails stood amidst Konoha's streets, making the surrounding buildings look like fragile toys that could be crushed apart with the slightest movent. rely standing there, its overwhelming presence caused the air itself to feel heavy and oppressive.
For a brief mont, the entire village fell silent.
Then panic erupted.
The villagers and shinobi nearby froze in place, their faces turning deathly pale as cold sweat stread down their backs. So civilians were so terrified that their legs completely gave out beneath them, causing them to collapse directly onto the ground.
"Th-That's... the Nine-Tails?!"
"The Nine-Tails!!"
"Ahhh!!"
"Run!! RUN!!"
Terrified screams echoed throughout the streets one after another, instantly shattering the brief silence.
Ordinary civilians and inexperienced genin had absolutely no ability to resist a monster of this scale. rely standing before it made them feel suffocated, as though death itself had descended over the village and wrapped its claws around their throats.
People fled desperately in every direction.
Children cried loudly as parents dragged them away in panic.
Shinobi shouted evacuation orders while trying to maintain order in the collapsing streets.
The entire village instantly descended into complete chaos.
Zoro stood quietly atop a distant rooftop, calmly observing everything below from behind his silver-white Asura mask.
He waited patiently.
Only after the civilians near the Nine-Tails had mostly evacuated did he finally speak in a cold, indifferent voice.
"Nine-Tails... attack."
The Nine-Tails' pupils trembled violently.
Inside its crimson eyes, the three-tomoe Sharingan spun clearly, the signs of genjutsu control impossible to conceal.
"ROOOAAARRR!!!"
The Nine-Tails released a furious, earth-shaking roar.
The terrifying soundwave exploded outward like a violent storm, generating a massive shockwave that instantly shattered the buildings beneath its feet.
Walls collapsed.
Glass burst apart.
The streets cracked under the monster's imnse weight.
Countless people covered their ears in agony as the deafening roar spread throughout Konoha.
At the sa ti, inside the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression changed drastically.
"What's going on?!"
The Third Hokage abruptly rose from his seat, his aged face becoming exceptionally grim as he quickly equipped his black combat armor.
"How did the Nine-Tails get out? Has Minato still not returned?"
"Minato still appears to be away on his mission."
The masked ANBU beside him answered in a heavy voice.
That was the Nine-Tails. If no one stepped forward tonight, Konoha itself could truly be destroyed.
Hiruzen's aged eyes narrowed sharply as killing intent flashed within them.
"No matter. Protect the civilians first. I'll suppress the Nine-Tails myself."
"Yes!"
The ANBU instantly disappeared to relay the order.
At a mont like this, there was no ti for hesitation.
As the Hokage, Hiruzen had no choice but to personally step forward.
Elsewhere in the village, Kakashi and Might Guy had also been alard by the sudden appearance of the Nine-Tails.
"The Nine-Tails!!"
Might Guy clenched his fists tightly as his fighting spirit erupted like blazing flas.
"Damn you, Nine-Tails! Now's the ti for my youthful passion to burn at full power!!"
He imdiately assud a combat stance, bouncing energetically on the spot while throwing several fierce punches into the air.
Kakashi looked at him helplessly from the side.
"Calm down, Guy."
"Co on then, Nine-Tails! I'll take you head-on!!"
Guy's blood was already boiling with excitent.
Clearly, Kakashi's attempt to stop him had absolutely no effect.
"Fall back imdiately!"
A Konoha shinobi wearing the standard green flak jacket suddenly appeared before the two using the Body Flicker Technique.
"Why?!" Guy protested unwillingly.
"The Third Hokage's orders. Young shinobi are to head to the shelter imdiately."
"Lord Hiruzen's orders...?"
Hearing that, the blazing spirit surrounding Guy instantly weakened like fire being extinguished by cold water.
Kakashi placed a hand on his shoulder before speaking calmly.
"Let's go, Guy."
The two could only obey the order and head toward the shelter outside the village.
anwhile, several shinobi crouched atop a giant tree nearby exchanged glances before launching forward together.
"Now!"
"Get its attention!"
One of the shinobi shouted as he hurled explosive tags toward the Nine-Tails.
"Look over here, you monster!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
The explosive tags detonated violently against the Nine-Tails' body, but the explosions resembled nothing more than mosquito bites.
They failed to cause even the slightest aningful damage.
"Swish!!"
The Nine-Tails casually swung one massive claw.
Like insects being brushed aside, the attacking shinobi were instantly blasted away.
"BOOM!!!"
Under Zoro's control, the giant tails behind the Nine-Tails smashed ruthlessly into Konoha's buildings.
Entire rows of structures collapsed instantly beneath the overwhelming force.
Smoke and dust surged into the air.
The ground trembled violently.
The village descended even further into panic and disorder.
And that...
Was exactly the result Zoro wanted.
Behind the mask, his cold gaze locked onto a certain direction within Konoha.
The next instant—
He vanished.
His figure moved like a black afterimage through the darkness as the surrounding scenery rapidly blurred backward. Even while dividing part of his attention to maintain control over the Nine-Tails, dealing with Danzo and Root required only himself alone.
As that thought crossed his mind, the Sharingan in Zoro's eyes began spinning faster.
The three black tomoe rotated violently.
Soon, a sinister change began to occur within his crimson pupils.
anwhile, outside Root's underground headquarters, the guards hidden near the concealed entrance suddenly sensed an overwhelming pressure rushing toward them at terrifying speed.
"Who's there?! Stop!"
The Root mbers instinctively shouted in alarm.
But the mont they looked up, their bodies froze.
Within their vision, it felt as though a gigantic black demon had suddenly appeared before them—a monstrous god of death baring its fangs while carrying an endless sea of blood and corpses behind it.
An indescribable chill instantly swallowed their hearts.
"Swish!!"
A cold flash of sword light sliced through the darkness.
The Root shinobi stiffened violently.
Then—
Thin bloodlines erupted across their bodies all at once.
Blood sprayed into the air.
The guards stationed outside the entrance were rely ordinary Root operatives. None of them had truly reached elite jonin level, so naturally, they stood no chance against Zoro whatsoever.
They were killed instantly.
Without even slowing down, Zoro continued walking deeper into Root's underground base.
Tonight...
Root was destined to drown in fear.
Zoro's speed was simply too fast.
Many Root mbers never even realized what had happened before death arrived before them.
So collapsed before they could draw their blades.
So died before finishing their hand seals.
Others only saw a flash of crimson eyes before darkness swallowed their consciousness forever.
At the sa ti, not every Root shinobi remained scattered throughout the base.
The chaos caused by the Nine-Tails had already gathered most of Root's elite forces inside the central hall.
"Who is it?!"
The Root shinobi kneeling on one knee imdiately beca vigilant after noticing the black-cloaked figure standing silently at the entrance.
They had originally been waiting for Danzo's orders.
As long as Danzo gave the command, they would imdiately move out to deal with the Nine-Tails.
Unfortunately, such expectations had been aningless from the very beginning.
As long as Hiruzen Sarutobi remained alive, Danzo would never willingly take the initiative to suppress the Nine-Tails himself.
Seated high above them, Danzo slowly narrowed his eyes as he sensed the violent killing intent radiating from the black-cloaked figure.
"Attack."
He casually waved one hand and issued the order without hesitation.
Anyone who dared invade Root headquarters alone naturally had sothing to rely on.
But regardless of who the intruder was—
Danzo had no intention of letting them leave alive.
"One-Sword Style: Great Dragon Shock!! (Daishinkan)"
Boom!!
Zoro's aura exploded outward violently.
An overwhelming pressure instantly swept across the entire underground hall like a raging storm.
His black cloak fluttered wildly despite the complete absence of wind.
Under the influence of the Sharingan's genjutsu, the dozen or so Root shinobi present all froze montarily, their movents slowing for a split second.
And in a battle between experts—
A single instant was enough to determine life and death.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
Danzo reacted imdiately.
The mont Zoro released his aura, Danzo had already completed a string of hand seals before spitting out a massive compressed sphere of wind chakra.
The attack shot forward like a cannon blast.
The high-pressure wind sphere possessed enough destructive power to shred a person apart instantly.
Even Zoro chose not to confront it directly.
"BOOM!!!"
The Vacuum Great Sphere exploded beneath Zoro's feet, blasting a massive crater into the ground as shattered stone and debris erupted everywhere.
The violent impact finally caused the surrounding Root jonin to fully react.
"Secret Technique: Poison Dust Jutsu!"
Danzo's bodyguard, Abura Torune, swiftly gathered countless poisonous nano-insects between his hands before blowing them outward in a single breath.
A dense purple insect mist instantly spread through the air behind Zoro, rapidly contaminating the surrounding area.
The poisonous nano-insects devoured everything they touched.
Anyone who inhaled that toxic dust would die.
"Fū!"
Abura Torune shouted toward the Yamanaka elite hidden within the shadows—Yamanaka Fū.
The two had cooperated together for years.
Their teamwork was naturally flawless.
Almost the mont Abura Torune made his move, Yamanaka Fū had already begun forming hand seals.
"Mind Body Switch Technique!!"
Fū thrust both hands forward.
A powerful wave of spiritual energy shot directly toward Zoro in midair.
Seeing the black-cloaked figure seemingly fail to react in ti, triumph instantly appeared within Fū's eyes.
He was convinced the technique had landed successfully.
But just as joy began rising within him—
A cold voice suddenly echoed beside his ear.
"Sink into the illusion of the Mangekyō Sharingan."
