Now reading: Chapter 601: Lin Moyu, Master of Hoodwinking from Necromancer: I Am A Disaster, a Fantasy novel by Pig On A Journey.

Lightning flashed and thunder roared as a sea of lightning surged.

Even the void beneath the platform seethed with rising bolts.

Lyle spread his wings, killing intent boiling off him.

Lin Moyu, ever sensitive to killing intent, sensed it instantly.

It seed Lyle had slipped. He’d revealed sothing he shouldn’t have.

Despite promising to keep quiet, Lyle clearly didn’t trust him.

To ensure a secret, the safest option was a corpse.

He intended to break the rules and kill Lin Moyu.

Lyle’s gaze was sharp enough to cut, “I’ve thought it through. You have two choices.”

“One: I kill you.”

“Two: you stay here forever.”

Lin Moyu chuckled. These two choices were utter nonsense.

He remained calm, “Aren’t you afraid of the Dragon King Palace’s punishnt?”

Lyle shook his head, “It doesn’t matter. Furthermore, I have a reason to kill you.”

His tone showed that he’d already accepted the consequences.

Lin Moyu tried to reason, “Actually, I didn’t hear anything. I’m insignificant. Even if I said sothing, no one would believe .”

Lyle still shook his head, “You don’t understand. There are things I can’t say, and you can’t hear.”

Lin Moyu truly didn’t understand why these things couldn't be spoken.

So what if there were other human worlds?

How earth–shattering could that be?

But judging from Lyle’s reaction, it was a colossal secret.

Lyle’s voice deepened, “Enough. You have two choices. Pick one.”

Since Lyle insisted, Lin Moyu’s attitude hardened, “I choose neither. And I don’t think you can kill .”

To Lyle, that sounded like a joke.

As a God-level Lightning Dragon, killing a level 70 human class user should be as easy as crushing an ant.

He prepared to attack, but suddenly froze.

Lin Moyu was holding a scale, covered in intricate patterns.

It was the scale Antares had given him.

With it, he could instantly flee to Antares’ side.

The mont Lyle saw it, his body shook violently, “How do you have this thing?”

He looked like a strangled chicken, trembling, unable to move.

Lin Moyu smiled, “Do you still think you can kill ?”

Lyle fell silent. His killing intent started fading.

The answer was obvious.

Lin Moyu held the scale like a divine talisman.

He continued casually, “There are countless secrets in this world.I’ve spoken to an item spirit left behind by a class user of the previous age.”

“I’ve t a half-step Transcendent God walking a path of near-certain death. I’ve heard of armies led by Transcendent God-level commanders and half-step Transcendent God-level generals.”

“I’ve t a being who has guarded this world since ti immorial. I’ve listened to their stories… many, many stories.”

With every sentence, Lyle trembled harder. Lightning flickered wildly across his body.

He didn’t realize Lin Moyu was weaving truth and lies together.

So secrets were genuine; others were clever guesses inspired by Antares’ clues.

The mixture made everything sound terrifyingly real.

Bai Yiyuan’s specialty was shakedown. Lin Moyu’s was hoodwinking.

He rarely spoke much. But when he did, he could run an entire con routine flawlessly.

“You see? I already know so many secrets. What you said isn’t much at all.”

“It’s just so details about multiple worlds. Nothing shocking.”

“And I won’t tell anyone. There’s no point, and no one would believe .”

Lin Moyu sounded so sincere, mixing truth with falsehood, that Lyle found it impossible to tell the difference

Lyle hesitated, “Really? You promise not to tell?”

Dragons were powerful, but not exactly known for sharp thinking.

Lin Moyu struck while the iron was hot, “Mm. I’m not lying.”

“As an exchange, I’ll tell you one of my own secrets.”

Lyle asked, “What secret?”

“I have immunity to the lightning elent. So even if you want to kill …”

Lyle was stunned, “Elental immunity? Among humans, that’s practically unheard off. And you have it?”

“Don’t believe ? Try .”

Lyle raised a claw. A bolt of lightning burst forth, slamming into Lin Moyu.

Lin Moyu let it wash over him harmlessly.

“You’re really immune?”

Lyle sent more lightning, each strike stronger than the last.

Lin Moyu didn’t even twitch.

After several attempts, Lyle finally believed him.

With lightning elental immunity, killing him really would be difficult.

Lyle had been unwittingly misled by Lin Moyu once again.

He had only seen Lin Moyu’s lightning elental immunity and completely forgot to factor in Lin Moyu’s actual level.

If Lyle went all out with physical attacks, he could probably crush an ordinary class user of Lin Moyu’s level.

But Lin Moyu was anything but ordinary.

So Lin Moyu continued weaving truth with lies, subtly guiding Lyle’s thoughts.

Lyle fell for it completely; his killing intent dissolved.

Instinct told him he couldn’t kill Lin Moyu, yet sothing still felt off, sothing he couldn’t quite place.

Lin Moyu put away the scale, “Alright, let’s pretend this never happened. You said nothing, and I heard nothing.”

“Let’s proceed with the test as per the rules.”

Lyle’s wandering thoughts were cut short.

Lin Moyu had neatly steered the conversation back to the trial, preventing him from digging deeper.

Lyle took the bait, “Let’s begin the trial. I’ll explain the rules.”

“The second stage has only two conditions: first, reach this place; second, withstand my attacks for ten minutes.”

“My attacks will remain between level 80 and level 83. You should know that after level 80, attributes rise exponentially.”

“However, with your lightning elental immunity, even God-level attacks would be useless against you.”

“So for this trial, we’ll simply go through the motions.”

This was exactly what Lin Moyu wanted.

“Sounds good. We’ll go through the motions.”

Both sides had a tacit understanding, and the trial began under an odd atmosphere.

A barrier rose, enclosing the entire arena.

Lyle exhaled a Dragon Breath, and the arena instantly transford into a sea of lightning.

Deafening thunder shook the air; lightning filled the space and swallowed Lin Moyu whole.

The attack’s power had reached the upper limit of level 83.

Any level 70 class user facing such an assault would have been vaporized instantly.

Yet within the raging lightning, Lyle and Lin Moyu rely stared at each other like actors in a staged performance.

Lin Moyu even found it mildly entertaining.

The lightning passed harmlessly through his body, not leaving so much as a scratch.

At that mont, Lyle completely believed it. Lin Moyu truly possessed lightning elental immunity.

“Total elental immunity… very few can reach this level.”

“It seems only the law of lightning…”

His thoughts surged wildly, but he kept his mouth shut.

After all, the more he spoke, the more he slipped up. He had already said far too much. If word got out, the consequences would be disastrous.

He could only trust Lin Moyu now, hoping he would keep quiet.

Lin Moyu sensed his anxiety and gave him a reassuring glance.

Ten minutes passed quickly, and the sea of lightning faded.

Lin Moyu stood calm and unscathed.

Lyle coughed lightly, “The second stage passed. You may now choose to continue or take your rewards and leave.”

“If you continue, your rewards will double upon success. But if you fail, you lose everything… perhaps even your life.”

“Make your choice.”

He didn’t specify what the rewards were or how difficult the next stage would be.

Like a riddle with no clues, the dungeon demanded a decision made in uncertainty—a test of resolve.

Lin Moyu didn’t hesitate, “I choose to continue.”

He hadn’t gotten Antares’s Dragon Beads yet. Leaving now was out of qiestion.

“Are you sure?” Lyle asked, “The current rewards are already quite good.”

After all, Lin Moyu had passed this stage only because of his lightning elental immunity, not through actual combat strength.

The next stage would be much harder. Lin Moyu, being level 70, might not pass.

“I’m sure.” Lin Moyu said firmly, “Let’s continue.”

Lyle no longer tried to persuade him. He had already said more than the rules allowed.

“Very well.”

He let out a roar that echoed through the dungeon.

At the far end of the platform, another flight of steps appeared.
