Now reading: Chapter 636: Meng Anwen and Bai Yiyuan On The Verge Of A Bre from Necromancer: I Am A Disaster, a Fantasy novel by Pig On A Journey.

Within the White God Courtyard, vast energies surged and roiled through the air.

In the air, the Shenxia Tower spun ceaselessly, radiating dazzling brilliance.

ng Anwen sat cross-legged in midair, enveloped by surging soul force that boiled like scalding water.

Impurities were continuously refined away—dross discarded, essence preserved.

As his soul ascended, ng Anwen’s aura grew increasingly vast and oppressive.

Mighty soul force flooded the entire White God Courtyard.

On the ground below, Bai Yiyuan was undergoing a similar transformation. His soul force surged without pause, steadily climbing.

Both were advancing from level 95 toward level 96.

They had already reached the peak of level 95 and brushed against the power of law.

However, this contact was shallow. They could sense it but not wield it, leaving them half a step short of level 96.

After the battle involving the Soul Fusion Grand Formation, their soul force had risen dramatically, pushing their soul ranks to new heights.

Now, at last, they were formally integrating law into their souls, finally taking that crucial final step.

Outside the White God Courtyard, Yan Kuangsheng hovered in midair with blade in hand.

Already a level 96 expert, he stood guard during their breakthrough.

Though the White God Courtyard was generally safe, he did not dare lower his vigilance.

As Bai Yiyuan’s and ng Anwen’s soul force grew ever stronger, they gradually overlapped before erupting outward in a sudden surge.

In an instant, their combined aura swept across hundreds of kiloters, nearly encompassing a 1,000-kiloter radius centered on the White God Courtyard.

Within this range, every being whose soul rank had reached God-level simultaneously lifted their heads, gazes fixed on the White God Courtyard.

Level 96 soul aura carried overwhelming majesty, causing all who sensed it to tremble.

They understood exactly what was happening.

Bai Yiyuan and ng Anwen had already announced their imminent breakthrough to level 96.

Yan Kuangsheng had likewise issued a stern warning: during the breakthrough, no one was allowed to approach. Violators would be killed without rcy.

None of the God-level powerhouses who sensed the aura dared to draw near.

Level 96 was high-tier God-level, while level 95 was rely mid-tier.

Though separated by only one level, the difference was like heaven and earth.

Level 96 marked true contact with law. Once the breakthrough succeeded, combat power would soar.

When skills fused with law, their might reached a terrifying level.

Among the human race, aside from a single half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouse, there had previously been no high-tier God-level experts.

This had been a glaring gap.

Now, that gap was finally being filled.

Following Yan Kuangsheng, Bai Yiyuan, and ng Anwen, veteran powerhouses such as Mo Xinghai and Ning Tairan would soon break through as well.

When that ti ca, the overall strength of the human race would surge dramatically.

With such figures holding the line, the Shenxia Empire would rise like a blazing sun, unmatched by any foe.

Only a select few knew that all of this had been made possible by Lin Moyu.

Otherwise, the Soul Devouring Beasts would not have been an opportunity, but a catastrophe.

...

While Bai Yiyuan and ng Anwen were undergoing their breakthroughs, Lin Moyu had already returned to the Human World.

He argued with Antares for quite so ti, and the two eventually parted on decidedly “bad terms.”

Antares once again realized that his tongue was far too clumsy. He simply couldn’t out-argue Lin Moyu.

After all these years, he felt he had truly lived in vain.

In a huff, Antares sent Lin Moyu back to the Human World, angrily telling him never to return again.

Of course, it was said in the heat of the mont.

Still, their bout of bickering pushed other matters aside.

Lin Moyu no longer dwelled on what had occurred in the Primordial Space, burying those mories deep within and refusing to touch them.

He was not yet qualified to do so.

Once more, Lin Moyu arrived at Kun City, standing in place as he gazed toward the Kunlun Mountain in the distance.

The Kunlun Divine Palace—late stage dungeon.

A level 75 dungeon, allowing entry to those between level 70 and level 80.

This was a dungeon ant only for top-level class users.

After the rigorous screening of the early stage and mid stage dungeons, very few were qualified to enter the late stage dungeon.

Those who could were almost always mbers of major factions.

Nearly all independent class users were stopped at the mid stage dungeon.

Stepping onto the snow-covered mountain, Lin Moyu began his ascent.

Fierce snowfall howled down from the north.

Even on the path leading to the early stage dungeon, the blizzard alone was enough to deter at least one-third of all class users.

This section was where the snowfall was at its most violent.

After a long ti, Lin Moyu once again set foot upon the Kunlun Mountain.

When he had last departed, he had been below level 70 and had yet to complete his third class awakening.

Though his soul was strong, it had not reached God-level.

Now, upon his return, he had completed his third class awakening and embarked upon a path unique to him.

His soul rank had reached level 92.

Looking upon the Kunlun Mountain once more, his perception of it was entirely different.

His soul was now extraordinarily sharp. Under his senses, the Kunlun Mountain felt dead and stagnant, utterly devoid of life force.

This stood in stark contrast to what he had sensed in the Kunlun Divine Palace dungeon, where the mountain there had possessed a faint but undeniable life force.

The Kunlun Mountain before him now, however, was nothing more than a lifeless husk.

Standing at the foot of the mountain, Lin Moyu clasped his hands and closed his eyes. His soul force surged outward like a roaring river.

With the main peak as its center, an area with a radius of 10,000 ters ford a veritable death zone.

Beneath the thick snow lay pitch-black rock, barren and inert—not a blade of grass in sight.

His soul force seeped into the mountain itself.

It was only after penetrating into the upper reaches that Lin Moyu finally sensed sothing amiss.

Faint strands of life force flowed through specific channels, converging toward the mountain’s interior.

And their source was unmistakable. They ca from the class users atop the mountain.

Lin Moyu was startled. The Kunlun Mountain was absorbing the life force of those class users.

Fortunately, the absorption was extrely slow and minimal, posing no real danger.

Class users naturally possessed abundant life force; the higher their level and the stronger their soul, the more resilient their life force.

Losing such a tiny amount was sothing they wouldn’t even notice.

His soul force continued to delve deeper. These strands of life force followed the hidden channels within the mountain, flowing upward toward the summit.

Near the summit, Lin Moyu sensed a formation.

An incomparably complex and profound formation.

Though it lacked the vast scale of the Soul Fusion Grand Formation, this formation hidden within the Kunlun Mountain’s peak was far more intricate.

As it operated, faint traces of law aura seeped outward.

“A God-level formation…”

“And one that incorporates law.”

The formation blocked his soul sense, preventing him from probing any deeper.

If he wished to know what lay beyond it, he would have to see it with his own eyes.

The presence of law ant the formation was at least level 96.

And whoever had constructed it must also have been at least that level.

At present, no level 96 Formation Masters existed within the human race.

This formation had to be a remnant of the past.

Moreover, even within the records of the past 1,000 years, no such individual had ever appeared.

If ng Anwen were to reach level 96, he would be forging a path unprecedented in this age.

“This formation doesn’t belong to this age… or to the human race.”

“Demons don’t use formations. And if the Dragonkind had set this up, it wouldn’t have escaped the notice of God-level powerhouses.”

After a mont of contemplation, Lin Moyu reached a conclusion.

“This formation either originates from the previous age… or was left behind by the Gods.”

At that mont, he sensed soone approaching. Lin Moyu halted his thoughts, opened his eyes, and turned.

His soul force had not yet fully withdrawn. A sharp glint flashed through his eyes, striking out like a blade.

The approaching man scread as if struck by a heavy hamr. He staggered backward several steps before collapsing into the snow.

Had Lin Moyu not withdrawn his soul force at the last instant, the man’s soul would have shattered.

As it was, he was rely frightened; already a stroke of luck.

“Is sothing the matter?” Lin Moyu asked calmly.

Several companions rushed over to help the man up.

He appeared to be in his thirties, dressed in a Mage’s robes.

Lin Moyu assessed him at a glance: level 61. Decent, but unremarkable.

The Mage looked at Lin Moyu with lingering unease, “You were standing there without moving. I thought you’d frozen stiff, so I ca to check.”

Lin Moyu glanced at himself. Not a single snowflake clung to his body. He clearly was not frozen.

Still, he had indeed stood there for nearly half an hour while exploring the mountain with his soul force.

Remaining motionless for that long was bound to draw attention.

“I’m fine.” Lin Moyu said, shaking his head.

With that, he continued up the mountain.

Watching his figure fade into the snowfall, the Mage muttered in confusion, “What a strange guy… How did I get scared just by his gaze?”

His companions were equally baffled.

Getting frightened by a single look was sothing none of them had ever experienced.

“Brother, you’re way too timid.”

“Yeah, that won’t do. What happens if you et a vicious boss? Will you freeze up and forget your skills?”

“You need to toughen up. I’ll find sothing to help build your courage.”

Irritated by the teasing, the Mage waved his hand, “Alright, alright, cut it out.”

The group burst into laughter. They were longti teammates, rely joking with one another.

Still, the Mage couldn’t help glancing toward the fading figure in the distance and murmured under his breath, “But his eyes… they really were terrifying.”
