Things weren’t over just yet. The light that had directly eliminated the corruption fields didn’t vanish. It shot off into the sky once more and rushed toward the grey and black robed figures across the entire Ashspire City.
"It’s coming our way!" a High Order mber shouted.

At that very mont, the light directly pierced the High Order mber.
He was an early-stage 2nd ranker, yet he couldn’t even react before falling.

One by one, the High Order mbers who were at the early stage of 2nd rank fell.
They scread in terror, yet the light had already arrived and pierced them, specifically targeting them as if it had a mind of its own.

Werner said while slightly trembling.
"I was right, he did create a grand array that could eliminate the corruption fields."
"Eliminate the corruption fields?" Valeria was stunned. "Is this true?"

This was the second ti this had happened. It couldn’t be a re coincidence.
"I won’t hide it from you anymore, Miss Valeria," Werner spoke. "I am Master Grey’s disciple."
And Werner was proud to be his disciple.
Why wouldn’t he be proud?

This display of power was directly the power and mind of his master at work.
Hundreds of corruption fields, it was nothing in front of the array Grey made.

Werner rembered what had happened several days ago when Grey was out on his important matters.
Inside the main formation chamber, Grey stood in front of the formation pillar covered with intricate patterns while chewing gum like a goat chewing grass.
Right beside him was Werner.
He observed the array formation carefully. This formation held the city barrier. It helped prevent the corruption energy from the outer rings and corruption fields outside from getting too close to the city while filtering it. In a way, it helped filter out the energy entering and also prevented unauthorized people from entering the city.
It was called the [City Barrier Formation].

This formation was created by the combined force of the Formation Association and now it has been upgraded by his cheat.

Grey stepped forward and imdiately took out a pen. This was no ordinary pen; it was liquid cosmic energy solidified into a tool. Formation masters used these pens to avoid burning through their own energy reserves while making a formation.
With a wave of his hand, several more pens appeared. They neatly floated around Grey as if awaiting his command.
Grey then touched the formation pillar slightly. He had already seen through its origin. He cut off the energy from the array, disabling the city barrier temporarily. No one would notice it had turned off unless the formation pillar itself was destroyed.
No one would co asking either. The formation pillar was in a place where the Formation Association could co and go as they pleased. Since they ca in unexpectedly, no one from the City Lord’s mansion was here to stop them either.
After turning off the barrier, he sent his energy out. The nexus energy surged and enveloped the pillar. Imdiately, the special inscriptions and patterns over the pillar were erased.
"Master, why did you erase the barrier formation?" Werner inquired out of curiosity.
"To add a new, better one," Grey said plainly as he kept his focus on the pillar.
Then his pens moved. They rushed to the freshly blank canvas of the formation pillar and began drawing intricate patterns from all sides of the pillar.
Grey focused on the pillar as he controlled his telekinesis to draw the formation he had in mind.
His goal was simple: to create a killing array that could directly target the High Order mbers.
For him, it was an effortless task.
He first drew the Absolute City Barrier Formation. Following that, he ford another layer and stacked the Doom Engraving Formation on top of the barrier array.
Now ca the main part, engraving his Corruption Field Sealing Array. Forming a new layer, he ford it neatly around the other arrays. As ti went by, the once simple and rather crude-looking formation from before had transford into a complex array that could make an onlooker dizzy.
With the Corruption Field Sealing Array completed, it was ti to set so conditions.
Now, this was a tricky part. It was sothing only he could do, and absolutely only him, because he was the only one with True Origin Sight.
He connected the killing array to the main node of the Corruption Field Sealing Array. The link was connected in an efficient manner so there wouldn’t be any energy loss. The reason he did that was simple: to set a condition.
Connecting the roots, he rewrote the Doom Engraving Formation’s activation condition. The Corruption Field Sealing Array held the energy pattern of corruption energy. The formation would now read the pattern and then begin acting.
The Doom Engraving Formation was essentially the anchor and the activation button for this array. With it effectively connected, the real reason he linked it was for sothing else entirely.
The Doom Engraving Array was, after all, a killing array. Its purpose was to kill. By connecting it with the Corruption Field Sealing Array, the formation could effectively identify corruption energy or even abyss energy. That ant the killing array would only target High Order mbers.
One of the downsides of a killing array was that once inside its area of effect, everyone in the vicinity would be pulled into its killing list. But this connection would act as a safeguard, allowing the array to work on a grand scale without targeting ordinary people, as long as they weren’t High Order mbers.
Soon, just like Grey envisioned, the array was complete.
