After lunch, Yang Xiao decided to go out for a walk to clear his mind. He thought of Zhao from the Script Club and wondered how the task he had entrusted to him was progressing. Feeling embarrassed to urge him directly and having nothing else to do, he took a taxi to a mall on Yuejiang Road.

The fourth floor of this place housed one of Zhao’s stores, which was the most successful among his several stores. They had talked before, and Zhao had agreed to put the first batch of scripts here. Yang Xiao was impressed by the good location and high foot traffic.

However, as soon as he arrived on the fourth floor, he saw people with signs blocking the store entrance, making a scene and behaving very arrogantly, shouting about fraud, taking advantage of female players, causing injuries, and bullying custors.

This store was Zhao’s pride and joy, including the hopes of Yang Xiao. He imdiately went over to inquire about what had happened.

"Hey, I’m telling you, this store takes advantage of the lights being off to molest female players and even deliberately causes harm. Don’t co here to play; anyone who does is a fool," the leader, Yellow Hair, said arrogantly, flipping his bangs out of his forehead towards Yang Xiao.

"What nonsense are you spouting? You are just looking for trouble!" a store employee in uniform pointed at Yellow Hair and shouted angrily.

"Oh wow, are you the owner’s dog, only knowing how to bark? Co on, if you dare, hit . You scam people with these trash scripts and even assault custors. Don’t you know the custor is God? I’m going to call the police and have you arrested!" Yellow Hair’s attitude was outrageously arrogant, standing at the entrance and jumping around as he cursed, while Yang Xiao noticed two security guards nearby trying to keep order, both looking very troubled.

Yang Xiao shoved past Yellow Hair and entered the store. Due to the commotion outside, there were no custors inside. Seeing Yang Xiao enter, the girl at the front desk wrung her hands in apology, "Sorry, handso, we...we can’t get enough people together today. Why don’t you co back another day? We’ll give you a discount voucher, we’re really sorry."

Yang Xiao looked beyond the girl, where two humanoid standees were placed. One depicted a woman wearing a drama robe and a red bridal veil, standing on a pair of blood-stained embroidered shoes. The other was a young man in ancient attire, with delicate features and a noble air.

On the standee of the woman in the drama robe, twisted brush strokes ford a line of blood-red text: "Fengn Ghost Shadow, a vengeful ghost claims lives."

The young man’s standee read: "Dreams prevail, nightmares return, a masterwork by the Gentle Sleep Persuader."

In fact, the mont Yang Xiao saw the young man’s standee, he felt this person looked very similar to himself, probably Zhao had soone make it according to his own physique.

At that mont, the girl at the front desk also noticed Yang Xiao’s reaction. She looked at him, then at the standees behind him, her expression suddenly becoming excited: "You are... you are..."

"Yes, I am," Yang Xiao smiled, maintaining his deanor in front of a book fan.

"You are Sanpai Sanshu!" the girl exclaid excitedly.

Yang Xiao was taken aback.

Realizing she had misspoken, the girl quickly corrected herself, "Sorry, Air Conditioning Repairman, I mistook you for soone else."

"It’s okay," Yang Xiao raised his hand, casually pointing towards the humanoid standees, finally leading the girl to see the words "Gentle Sleep Persuader." Embarrassed, she lowered her head, "Sorry, Sleep Persuader, I’ve always been a fan of your book."

Yang Xiao’s heart shattered, but he still forced a smile, "It’s okay; these things are not important. Where is your boss?"

"The boss... the boss was taken to the police station to assist with an investigation," the girl said quietly.

Yang Xiao turned his head to look at the people outside the glass door, led by Yellow Hair, "Is it because of them?"

"Yes, they’ve co here over and over to cause trouble, claiming our staff molested and injured them. The boss suspects they are from another script club, brought in because they saw our new script and specifically ca to cause trouble," the girl explained, fuming.

"What exactly happened?" Yang Xiao asked.

Since the girl knew Yang Xiao was the author of the new script and a friend of the store owner, Zhao, she sat him down and quickly explained everything. After their last eting, Zhao had imdiately started producing Yang Xiao’s script. The first one was the Fenn Ghost Play, for which he had even renovated a room with many new devices, showing full sincerity. After its completion, he had heavily promoted it. But unexpectedly, on the second day of its trial operation, a group of students ca, specifically asking to play this script.

Everyone thought it was normal and arranged it accordingly, but who could have imagined that halfway through, these people suddenly turned hostile, claiming the NPC playing the ghost harassed them and secretly touched the girls’ legs.

"Also, they claid our equipnt was faulty, and soone got cut," the young female store employee said angrily, "But our equipnt doesn’t have any sharp edges at all. It’s covered with a thick rubber material. We had tested it many tis before use."

"They cut themselves to blackmail us, and the harassnt is even more absurd," Yang Xiao quickly figured out the course of events, which was not complex.

"I just noticed there are security guards from the mall outside, why aren’t they doing sothing?" Yang Xiao questioned, "Have they been bought off by the competition too?"

"That shouldn’t be the case. They are just scared. Last ti they tried to stop those people, but one of them pretended to fall and insisted the security pushed him, then threatened to sue the mall. Now they are hesitant to intercede, especially since these people are minors," explained the girl.

"Isn’t there any surveillance around here?" Yang Xiao frowned.

"There is, but it’s not very clear. The boss said these people ca prepared; they know where the blind spots are."

"Also, recently, there have been a lot of complaints that our store doesn’t et fire safety standards, and that our female staff are secretly involved in underhanded dealings," explained the young female store employee.

Yang Xiao asked the female store employee to take him to the script room, but when they got there, they found the door had been sealed off, with a notice attached, "What’s going on here?" Yang Xiao asked.

"This room is not allowed to be used now, we have to wait until the investigation results are out," the girl said quietly.

"Isn’t this nonsense?" Yang Xiao frowned, pushing the door open, which scared the girl.

"Don’t be afraid, I’ll take responsibility if there’s a problem." After Yang Xiao entered the room, he saw it had already been set up, designed in the old-fashioned mansion style, quite like the Feng Family Mansion where they had stayed the night
