Nikke, something’s seriously wrong with this evacuation point! Chapter 174 174: A Milestone Victory
From this day onward began a long, drawn-out battle.
For both the Goddesses and the lee squad, the simulation battle against Liliweiss was simply brutal. Even though it was only a copy that replicated Liliweiss's techniques.
However, what Liliweiss and Rose did not tell them was that this simulated Liliweiss, although significantly weakened in raw power, had combat fluidity identical to the real Liliweiss, not just a simple imitation as claid.
After all, the more thoroughly preparation is done, the safer the future will be.
Even though the Nikkes were being beaten to tears by Liliweiss–so even still getting instantly defeated in humiliating ways on the third and fourth day–none of them gave up.
If they couldn't even handle a team battle, what right did they have to face Liliweiss herself?
Sotis, even knowing they would lose, they still had to give everything they had. Otherwise, they wouldn't just fail to save the world–they would also disappoint Liliweiss and Charon.
And compared to the forr, they sotis cared even more about the latter.
"Saving the world" was too vast a concept–sothing no single individual could achieve alone. Just like Charon himself: even with Zero Zone behind him, his individual capacity was still limited. All he could do was preserve those capable of pushing the world forward, allowing them to reach the final outco step by step.
Finally, on the fifth day after the simulation began, Dorothy completed the requirent of surviving five minutes.
Then on the seventh day, the entire Goddess Squad survived.
On the fourteenth day, the entire team survived again.
[Dun-dun-dun-dun~ dun-dun~ dun~ dun-dun~]
An 8-bit victory jingle echoed through the simulation room.
[Although the process looked quite ugly, this is indeed the first ti everyone ca out with all limbs intact. Congratulations–you have successfully survived five minutes under a weakened version of Senpai's pursuit.]
Rose's voice rang out. At this mont, the simulation room was filled with Nikkes lying scattered on the ground. Even support units like 10 were completely exhausted and unable to move.
"Hahahahahaha!"
Red Hood, drenched in sweat, burst into unhinged laughter.
"Did you see that?! Everyone! That last mont! My bait combined with 05's bomb stunned her for a full second! One whole second!!"
She flipped over and imdiately grabbed 05 from the crowd, fiercely ruffling her hair.
"Hehehe! Well done, Bomb Maniac! Next ti you just focus on planting bombs underground–we need sothing big to really hit her!"
While talking about the simulated Liliweiss, they had already lost the fear of an unbeatable enemy. Instead, they were filled with aggressive fighting spirit.
And 05 responded with the sa kind of laughter.
"Next ti… next ti I'll stuff a bomb into her mouth!"
"Hahahaha! Then let's do it together!"
If it had been the old lee squad, facing Liliweiss they would never even have imagined victory, or even survival. But now, with the encouragent of the Goddess Squad, they had gained the courage to challenge an unbeatable enemy.
The Goddess Squad and the lee squad were no longer two separate teams–they had almost fully rged into one. Everyone did what they were best at while supporting others in return. Half a month of high-intensity battles had forged their initial coordination.
Rose(lee) slowly stood up. When she saw the "All Survived" result on the screen, she couldn't help covering her mouth as silent tears flowed down her face.
She wasn't crying only for survival–but for proving sothing more important:
The lee squad is not cannon fodder.
The Goddess Squad would cover them, and they would support the Goddess Squad in return.
Especially in those final seconds–if 05 hadn't stunned the simulated Liliweiss for one second, they would never have had ti to react.
They were already comrades.
...
At this mont, the three who were watching separately to avoid disturbing them were smiling.
Charon casually pulled out an energy bar and offered it aside.
"Want so?"
"Yes!" Liliweiss, sitting in a wheelchair, stretched lazily. Instead of taking it, she leaned forward and bit directly into it, letting out a satisfied hum.
Andersen instinctively moved his chair back a little. He had no choice–whenever Liliweiss acted spoiled like this, she would glance at him with a warning look, forcing him to pretend he didn't exist.
His urge to comnt had increased dramatically.
"The integration phase is finally over," Charon said, gently rubbing Liliweiss's head.
"Half a month–neither long nor short. But it's still far from them defeating her."
"Haha, don't be too harsh on them. Surviving cos first. Winning cos later. To defeat that thing, you need enough firepower–and accuracy."
"Still, that last stun from 05 was effective. If there had been a powerful sniper shot at that mont, it could've ended it in that one second," Andersen said.
"Maybe. But simulation and real combat are different," Charon replied. "We still don't know if that thing will evolve."
"Assu it will evolve," Liliweiss said with a faint smile. "We'll start Phase Two."
Charon felt a chill.
The so-called "true combat simulation" ant randomized battlefield splitting, escorting civilians into the Ark, defending against continuous waves of Leech-like enemies, and possibly dealing with a randomly appearing simulated Liliweiss in any group.
It was terrifying just thinking about it.
"Still…" Liliweiss added, "I really want to personally beat that fake version. Fighting sothing that mirrors is infuriating."
"You'll get your chance," Charon said, holding her hand.
He stood up and took the microphone connected to the simulation room.
"Everyone… this is just the beginning. If you can survive five minutes, you can survive ten, thirty… and even turn the tables. Be proud. Today, you are all strong. Tonight–extra rations!"
"YEAH!!"
"Long live the Commander!!"
