Inside the Central Governnt's conference room, a eting had been underway for less than five minutes.

The guard standing outside looked utterly bored. His job was to stop any fool who tried to break in. If soone insisted on forcing their way inside after being warned, he even had the authority to shoot them on the spot.

Although the eting behind the door wasn't directly tied to major governnt policy, it was still one of countless secret etings. The things discussed there would almost never be made public, and there wouldn't even be any official records left behind.

Even the guard at the door absolutely could not hear the contents of the eting. Otherwise, he'd lose his head as well.

Still, anyone working here was naturally soone who knew how to behave, so most of the guard's job was simply standing there for a few hours. Honestly, it wasn't difficult work at all. Many people would spend their entire fortunes just to secure a position like this.

Easy work, little responsibility, high pay, and because the people you dealt with were fixed, it was basically a golden ticket for life. It even guaranteed a full-family ticket into the Ark Project.

In short, anyone who obtained this job before turning thirty was basically considered a winner in life.

Of course, even a job like this had one or two exceptional situations.

The sound of high heels slowly echoed through the hallway.

The guard imdiately sharpened his gaze. Just as he was about to see which suicidal idiot dared approach this place–preparing to talk them out of it with his silver tongue–his expression froze instantly.

"How long has the eting been going on?"

A pleasant fragrance drifted toward him. The newcor's voice was gentle and relaxed, carrying no oppressive air whatsoever, yet the guard only dared stare at the floor, hiding his face beneath the brim of his cap.

"F-five… no, six minutes."

"Thank you."

The woman walked past him, pushed open the door, stepped inside, and closed it behind her.

Not a single person dared say a word. Even the staff watching from afar had no intention of holding the guard responsible.

After all, people usually weren't blad for force majeure incidents.

If anyone had complaints, they were welco to try stopping her themselves.

Although that person had never hard anyone before, the pressure of overwhelming strength alone was enough. Her attitude toward the governnt had always been ambiguous–one mont she was warm and approachable, the next she might openly threaten you.

And nobody could do anything about it.

A Nikke with no NIMPH, no restrictions whatsoever, completely immune to Nikke suppression rounds… and even if those bullets did work, nobody would dare use them. After all, with a simple wave of her hand, those bullets would never touch her.

What if they angered her?

That was the question everyone who had ever considered targeting Liliweiss had asked themselves.

The very first Nikke.

The prototype of the Fairy Tale models.

Leader and commander of the Goddess Squad.

Major Liliweiss held a transcendent status within human society.

At first, the governnt had tried various approaches, like using public opinion to pressure her. Later, they discovered such thods were aningless.

Sure, you could pressure her in public…

But what if she decided to start assassinating people?

If she quietly slipped into your backyard in the middle of the night and wiped out your entire family, who could stop her? Who would willingly stand in her way?

Afterward, they could just bla it on the Raptures, and Liliweiss would still remain humanity's Goddess of Victory while you'd already be a corpse.

So eventually everyone reached the sa conclusion:

Forget it.

Her lifespan wasn't infinite anyway. Just endure it for a few years and act obedient.

What else were they supposed to do? Fight Major Liliweiss?

Yeah right. Better to stay alive.

Should they try befriending her, then?

Not really necessary either.

If they spent years building a good relationship with her, what if they offended everyone else in the process?

They weren't going to die within a few years. They still needed a future in the Ark, after all.

And so, Liliweiss's position beca extrely delicate. The Central Governnt's approach toward her was simple: don't antagonize her, but don't get too close either. Just let her do whatever she wanted.

Most information was relayed through the only person who had even a sowhat closer relationship with her–Colonel Andersen.

Inside the conference room–

"Oh my, why did everyone stop talking?"

Liliweiss smiled as she walked toward a corner of the room, pulled over a chair, and sat down.

"Please continue. I'm only here to observe. Don't mind ."

Who the hell could possibly not mind her?!

Up until now, every eting that Liliweiss had "observed" ended with her forcefully interfering sohow. Granted, it was rare for her to completely overturn every decision. Most of the ti, she would simply insert her own conditions without affecting the overall direction too much.

At that mont, nearly everyone in the room turned their eyes toward one particular person, silently hoping he'd say sothing.

"Major Liliweiss, this really puts us in a difficult position."

A familiar voice rang out.

Andersen – now sporting a slight stubble–had "trouble" practically written all over his face, yet he still had no choice but to step forward.

"Well, if it isn't Colonel Andersen. You're involved in this too?"

Liliweiss glanced at the large screen displaying the title:

"Discussion Regarding the Abnormal Handling of the lee Squad."

A playful smile appeared on her face.

"I'm begging you here. Just quietly listen for now," Andersen sighed with a headache. "Mainly because Lieutenant Barnes, the squad's commander, is technically one of my people."

Monts later, a portrait appeared on the screen.

A face that looked completely uneducated and utterly lacking in spirit–so unimpressive that it was hard to understand how soone like that had even beco a soldier.

"Mm-hmm. Go on, then."

A trace of disappointnt flashed through Liliweiss's eyes before she leaned back in her chair.

"Alright, I hereby announce that I won't interrupt anymore. Continue."

The mont this Nikke declared she'd stay quiet, so officials wiped sweat from their brows while others sighed in relief.

Andersen ignored them and continued:

"Recently, the reports submitted by Lieutenant Barnes ntioned that the mass-produced specialized Nikkes of the lee squad have begun showing signs of refusing orders. Furthermore, they've even started replacing their own parts with Rapture components."

"What?!" Soone slamd the table. "How dare they?!"

"Rapture parts are inherently ominous objects! Even when the Central Governnt recovers them, they're completely crushed down into raw materials. Who knows whether the finished products still contain traces of the Raptures' will? Are they trying to rebel?!"

The eting room instantly exploded into heated discussion, most of it consisting of furious insults aid at the lee squad.

Andersen rely waited quietly for them to finish spewing nonsense.

Only after the noise finally died down did he speak again:

"As for this squad… I've learned so rather interesting information. I wonder if you'd all allow to share it?"

At that mont, several people's expressions changed imdiately. Clearly, they had already guessed what was coming.

However, Andersen was currently one of the Central Governnt's hottest rising stars–a young man climbing the ranks at incredible speed, handling both politics and military affairs simultaneously.

His connections and resources even extended into the Ark Project itself.

Even if so people present technically outranked him, none of them dared offend him for the ti being.

The truly influential figures would never personally attend a eting like this anyway.

"What I'd like to discuss… is the origin behind the creation of the lee squad."
