Sophie Smith could hardly believe this was coming from Irene Morton. Her behavior was really strange.

"You wouldn’t be afraid that I would go find Brother Asher, right?" Irene Morton tilted her head towards the window. At so point, snow had started to fall, lightly covering the street.

These words shook Sophie Smith more than anything else as she gripped the steering wheel tightly.
Had Irene Morton decided to completely leave Asher Land? It was sothing she had never been able to imagine before, even if her heart was now filled with hidden turmoil, her face showed no sign of it.

As she spoke, Irene Morton began to cry, "When he locked in that dark basent for three months, I had already given up on him."

In truth, even she wasn’t sure which of her words were true and which were false.

This place was dilapidated, noisy, chaotic—Sophie Smith couldn’t imagine how Irene Morton, once proud like a peacock, could live here.
