Little Sophie didn’t expect that the recent few tis she returned to Southern County, it was always with Asher Land. However, being with him indeed made her feel much better. Each visit to Southern County left her exhausted and disheartened, but his company brought her a sense of peace.
Leaning against the car window, Little Sophie drifted into a dream. Asher Land parked the car on the roadside and turned to look at her peaceful sleeping face.
Her phone vibrated in her bag, but she showed no reaction.
Asher Land picked up the phone; it was a call from her father.
He didn’t hesitate much and instinctively pressed the answer button.
Today, her father’s attitude towards him was inevitably suspicious. Her father despised him, that was beyond doubt. But the reason for it was sothing he couldn’t understand.
As soon as the call connected, Christopher Smith’s enraged voice was heard.
"Little Sophie, you mustn’t be with that man."

Asher Land looked coldly at the phone, yet he still wanted to continue listening to see what shocking secrets awaited his discovery.
"Little Sophie, don’t stay silent. Have you forgotten what that man did to our family in the past? If it weren’t for his coercion..." Christopher Smith didn’t continue, but this piqued his curiosity fully.
He hung up the phone, a smile of unfathomable aning appeared on his lips.
"Seems like I have done sothing heinous to your family." He was determined to find out. He didn’t know how much she was hiding from him. Right now, he only felt uneasy all over, hating the feeling of being deceived, especially being deceived by her.
When Little Sophie woke up, she found herself already lying on a soft bed. She opened her eyes and glanced around, a kindly face appeared in her view.
"Nanny Garcia?"
How did she end up back in Asher Land’s hillside villa?

Asher Land had his eyes closed, his entire body relaxed in the leather chair. He was sowhat fatigued, a video call on the computer was still displaying. On the other side, Robert Williams saw that Asher Land wasn’t speaking, as if he had fallen asleep. He said nothing, rely waited quietly for Asher Land’s next instructions.
After a long while, he opened his eyes.
"How is the investigation I asked you to conduct?" he asked coldly.
"Everything you instructed has been thoroughly investigated," Robert Williams replied in a deep voice.
"Tell everything you know."
"Yes, President Land." Robert Williams paused, then continued, "Miss Smith’s current family background is not complicated. Her family consists of four people: her father, stepmother, and her stepmother’s son. However, four years ago, there was an incident in her family."
An incident?
"Four years ago, Miss Smith’s biological mother jumped to her death. I interviewed the neighbors who used to live near Miss Smith. They said there was only one reason for her mother’s suicide."
