He didn’t want to believe it!
"President Land, please don’t think like that." Robert had been by Asher Land’s side for ten years, since Asher was young, always loyally staying by his side, so he more or less understood Asher’s emotions. Sophie was circling in the kitchen, and Nanny Garcia said Asher Land was working. Should she take a cup of coffee to cheer him up?
"No." Her mouth imdiately denied the idea that popped out from her heart, but the next second, she took out a cup.
Considering he took her to Southern County, she should just make him a cup to avoid him later calling her ungrateful.
Sophie carefully carried the cup of coffee she had prepared and walked to the study on the third floor. The door was ajar, and she gently pushed it open. Asher Land had his back to her, leaning against the leather chair. When he heard the sound, he turned his body around.
"Um, Nanny Garcia said you’re busy with work, so I brought you a cup of coffee."
Asher Land saw her gently place the coffee on the table and looked straight at her with his dark eyes, making Sophie a bit at a loss.
"I was just afraid your ntal state might be affected and impact your work, so I brought this coffee. I didn’t an anything else." She hurried to explain, as if fearing Asher Land would misunderstand.
Asher Land stood up, picked up the coffee cup with his two slender fingers, swirled the coffee lightly before his eyes, and then handed it to her.
"Do you hate ?" He suddenly asked.
"Huh?" Sophie wondered why he suddenly asked this question.
"Tell the truth."
What is the truth?
Since she couldn’t figure out her own feelings, she didn’t know what the truth was.
"Hate or not hate?" He pressed aggressively.
"What difference does it make? I just brought you coffee out of kindness. Do you have to question my good intentions? If you don’t want it, never mind!" Sophie reached out, trying to grab the coffee from his hand, but before she could touch the cup, he easily avoided it.
He took a light sip of the coffee in the cup.
The taste was bitter yet rich.
"Fortunately, this coffee isn’t poisoned." His mouth curled into a smile, making her both angry and annoyed.
"Really?" she sneered, "Perhaps I should consider poisoning it for you."
