Sophie Smith thought, fortunately, Asher Land wasn’t sleeping next to her last night. If he knew Wyatt Sterling had called her to et, he would probably have strangled her.
She arrived on ti at the place Wyatt had arranged. She parked the car and walked towards the secluded café.
The spacious café was empty. Sophie knew Wyatt must have arranged for it to be cleared.
She chose a seat by the window and sat down. The waiter approached and asked her what she would like to drink.
"Blue Mountain coffee, please."
She took out her phone, glanced at the ti, and silently put it back in her bag.
She was indeed a bit tired. Last night, Asher didn’t let her sleep until late into the night; she probably hadn’t slept more than four hours.
By the way, she left the Land Family’s house so early today, he shouldn’t be suspicious, right? Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but frown.
"What’s wrong? Feeling bad so early in the morning?" Hearing the voice, she instinctively looked up.
Wyatt Sterling smiled and pulled out a chair, sitting down in front of her.
"Senior Brother." Sophie felt a bit guilty. If it weren’t for her, Asher wouldn’t have deliberately created a scandal with Anna, putting him in a difficult situation. Today, seeing him, she had prepared a lot to say, but now that he’s seated, she couldn’t utter a single word.
"Is there sothing you want from today?"
"Wanting to see you, does that count?" he lightly countered.
He spoke with her as if nothing had happened, as if that dark scandal had nothing to do with him. Indeed, he was rely being frad.
"About that matter..."
"I know," he interrupted her. "So, you don’t need to explain."
"You, you, how do you know?"
Wyatt lowered his head, stirring his coffee. How did he know?
After Anna plotted to sleep with him, she confessed everything in detail.
She said, don’t bla her; she did it because soone instructed her, and she willingly acted as the pawn to destroy him.
He wasn’t overly emotional at the ti. He simply dressed and calmly asked, ’Why did they do this?’
Anna said, just because he fell for soone he shouldn’t have.
Hah, fell for soone he shouldn’t have.
He knows who he loves.
So he also knows who wants to ruin him.
"Senior Brother, I’m sorry. This matter started because of , and yet, I can’t help you at all." He could see the guilt and remorse in her eyes, but he didn’t invite her out to see this side of her.
"Haven’t I been fine all along? Don’t say things like that."
How could he be fine?
Everything he worked hard to build in the entertainnt industry vanished overnight with this scandal. How could he remain so calm?
Sophie’s phone rang, and she instinctively pressed the disconnect button.
"Was it him?"
She knew who he was referring to without even looking at the number and shook her head in denial.
"Are you happy with Asher Land?" he persistently asked.
Happy?
How should she define it?
"I know I’m just his mistress. The day he’s no longer interested in seeing , the day he’s no longer interested in my body, he may discard . So, in such circumstances, could I be happy?"
She spoke these words lightly without resentnt or sadness.
"Then do you love him?"
Sophie scoffed. She truly didn’t know how Wyatt Sterling could ask such a question. What aning did asking these questions serve?
"In this life, I could never love him."
