Breaking ties with Asher Land?
He knows full well it’s impossible for her to do that now.
"What? You’re hesitating? You must be tangled up with him again? Last ti in his office, I should have stabbed him harder. Even if I ended up in prison, it wouldn’t matter, at least he wouldn’t be able to imprison you anymore!"
"Dad!"
Sophie Smith suddenly stood up, her voice a bit hoarse.
"Can you stop making things difficult for ?"
"I’m doing this for your good."
"No, for my good, you should listen to and not trust an outsider so easily." This statent from Sophie Smith was clearly directed at Oliver Johnson.
Oliver Johnson remained unprovoked by her accusation, he simply spoke slowly.
"Miss Smith, certainly you have your reasons for not wanting to leave President Land? Could it be because you’re already pregnant with his child?"
Child?
Everyone present was taken aback, how did Oliver Johnson know about this?
Sophie Smith glanced at Eva Miller, who quickly waved her hand.
"Sophie, I didn’t say a word, I swear I haven’t said anything to anyone!" Eva Miller swore with her hand raised.
"Are you pregnant with his child?" Christopher Smith asked harshly.
Sophie’s silence made him all the more convinced.
"Get rid of the child." Christopher said in a deep voice.
Get rid of it?
"Uncle Smith, you can’t do this to Sophie!" Eva Miller panicked, "The child is almost three months old, how can you get rid of it?"
"Three months? Little Sophie, you sure kept this from long enough!" Christopher seed angered by this sudden news, and coughed violently several tis.
"Dad, are you alright?" Sophie wanted to get closer but was stopped by Christopher.
"Little Sophie, listen to Dad and get rid of the child."
Get rid of the child?
No, really can’t.
"Please don’t force , okay?" Sophie felt utterly despondent, torn between her dearest father and the man she loved most, completely unable to choose.
"Perhaps, in your heart, you resent Asher Land because you think he imprisoned , or because you think I’m unhappy, but you’re wrong, I’m willing to stay by his side, I love him, I can’t leave him, being with him, I am very happy..."
When Sophie said this, her expression was flat, yet Eva Miller was moved to tears, even pulling out a tissue to wipe them.
Oliver Johnson’s fists clenched tightly, hearing her words felt like a dagger to his heart.
Such beautiful words, yet to him, they were so piercing.
Christopher snorted coldly, saying nothing.
Sophie stood there, caught in a dilemma.
"Little Sophie, let make it clear to you, if you insist on being with Asher Land, I won’t oppose it. Just consider that you don’t have as a father anymore."
Christopher’s words were definitive, causing Sophie to tremble slightly, her lips tightly bitten until the taste of blood spread in her mouth.
"You should go back now. I don’t need your answer right this mont, just think it over, make a choice, no matter what choice you make, Dad won’t bla you." Christopher cast his gaze elsewhere, no longer looking at her.
She stood still, unable to move a step.
The atmosphere instantly reached peak awkwardness, Eva Miller pulled Sophie Smith and walked out.
"Sophie, Uncle Smith is a patient right now, let’s not persist with him. You should go back first, I’ll help work on Uncle Smith’s mindset for you."
Sophie numbly followed Eva’s lead, passing by Oliver Johnson she looked up at him once.
